boy wild day around these parts.

Seems we've had two bus collisions resulting in the deaths of 5 people. None of them students. One was here in VB and the other was just down the road a bit in NC. I don't know if the weather has anythign to do with it or not.

It's still raining like a big dog here! YUCK! Mom has to go get Jar from the bus in the mess!! Glad it's not me!!

Yes, definately the cutest frog I've ever seen!!

AA...yes the kids were dressed and had their lunch...but I don't think Mrs. AA wants them going to school in their pj's and eating moonpies and drinking RC cola for lunch!! That's probably not what she had in mind!! :rotfl: Did Mrs. AA have a guide dog before or is this her first? I must have missed the part where you told us where she was going.

Nancy...i'm more awake than before but not by much!! :rotfl: I've only had about 12 of my 44 ounces of diet coke this morning...its almost 2 so I guess I really should be drinking a little faster!

anyone heard from Jeanne since she left for the Old Country???

More later!!
tara

Whoops, I'm beginning to realize that maybe I didn't fill y'all in on what is going on.

Mrs. AA got word that a Lab/Poodle cross she requested was available for this class at Guide Dog Federation

If she didn't go to this class, it would probably be next spring before she could get in another class....and she really, really is ready to get one.

So, yesterday morning I put her on a plane to New York. She will be in a dormitory class setting for three weeks on Long Island (Smithtown).

Her first two dogs were from a school near Tampa, FL. but this time she is going into the land of funny talking people because she specifically wanted either a standard Poodle or Lab/Poodle cross (due to her asthma)

She will be there for 3 weeks while I attempt to keep house and the girls in order

We rescheduled Lela's birthday party for Saturday so that Rebecca could be there.

Quiet day in here.

Sounds like an exciting experience for Rebecca, Alan....and you and the girls too ;)

Yes, Elaine, I did enjoy my cleaning :rotfl: I actually don't mind it at all.
Done, laundry done, blouse and bag done for costume......next...and last :bounce: ....and hardest the vest :(

Did you have a good day off, Kimmie? Hope you did something fun.

Short on time, so I'll just leave prayers & PD for those who need them, a great big howdy-hey to everybody else and mad, mad love all around! :grouphug:

I'll be back after ding-a-ling practice!

Oh, Tiara!! You are soooooo right! That Hijacking/Carjacking thread on Friday night totally derailed me! :guilty: I stayed up late and then slept in.

On Saturday, I dragged my feet, went to the mall with my son and then decided to work at 8:00 pm! :earseek:

I got the paper out and to the printer just a little before 5:00 pm today. Now.... it's on to all the rest of the stuff that needs done. Blech.

Was anyone else having issues today? Things were taking forever to load for me. Obviously makes me less likely to stop on by ;)

Kimmie, glad you had a free day! I decided I was going to start all over tonight with the knitting and see what I get. I am trying to do the right handed stuff, but going for the "Continental Method" seems to use the left hand more which is what I was comfortable with.
Tara, I love all you said to Alan :rotfl: Like the way you think there :teeth:
That is so sad about the bus accidents though :(

Hope Rebecca comes home with her cute accent still Alan ;)

Nancy, good luck with the vest! I am sure you will do great on that! And I cannot wait to see the finished products. I admit I didn't get a lot of cleaning done. This might sound odd, I did a lot of head organization though... kind of deciding all I need to get done and when it is best to do it. I was tired though, so was a bit too lazy and aching actually to do much else. It actually helps me to clean my brain like that I guess :teeth:

:wave2: Hi to my favorite Dingaling ;)

Pam, sorry about the weekend getting in the way of your work... at least you can sleep some soon, right?

I'm off to attempt that knitting thing again then going to get my laptop out with all my addresses and start in on Christmas cards. Realized with my brother here for the week of TG (he'll probably come on the 19th) that I'll be short on time for a few things. So anything Christmas related has to be done by then or it possibly won't get done
I just hate rushing around in December... I kind of lose drive mid-month

Elaine,
I have issues (according to everyone who knows me!!) :rotfl:

Nah - really, I have been having major loading issues on the DIS tonight and it's frustrating me greatly! :guilty:

Evening, all.

Spent the night at the hospital with Mom. Interesting going. Still was hallucinating, but at about 11pm, she told my sis and I to take a walk. Three times, so we realized it wasn't a hallucination. We left for 45 and walked throught the empty hospital and hung out in the cafeteria (I started a new pot of coffee :teeth: ). When we got back, she complained that she didn't have enough time.

Storm really didn't do much around here. We had gusts around 50mph and lost power several times. Hospice came in at 1pm and told us they'd transport in the next hour. Try ten minutes. She's now at a very nice facility, and Kathi sent me home tonight. I'll go back in the am. Ed's mom and sister fly into MCO in the afternoon, and he'd like to go over and meet them.

Alan, waddya mean, them guyz tawk funny? BTW, I'm from Long Island and have met quite a few of those dogs in training. A colleague did the prelim work with the pups and always said it was hard-he wanted the dogs to do well, but he also wanted them to fail so he could have them back!

Hope Karen's doing okay, it sounds like it went a little more intense than expected.

Lainey, like Luis' goatee. I like men with facial fur :teeth:

Pam, I can relate to that lack of sleep thing.

Feels weird to have people calling me by the name the family uses. I keep getting introduced by that name.

I'll check back in as I can. As it stands, I'm scheduled to work again Wednesday, so tomorrow will be spent with Mom for as long as possible.

Suzanne

Suzanne,
 I think that it's good that she's at a hospice facility.

And Pam smacks herself up alongside the head! SMACK! (Did everyone hear that? Lainey! Luis is VERY hot looking in those pics!!

Alan - You didn't tell us where Rebecca was going - but we still will call you our friend! ;) Three weeks? :earseek: What is her new dog's name?

Pam :rotfl:
Glad I am not the only one with issues :p

Suzanne, glad that your mom is at the hospice facility. We really liked the one my mom was at (albeit it was only about 2 weeks). Just great services there. And hang in there
I am glad that the storm wasn't too bad there though.
I am curious though, what are you introduced as? I know I always get introduced as Elaine. Family or friends alike usually. However, Lainey falls into play a lot more than it used to. I get introduced as Elaine by my friends but the next time they call me something it is always Lainey :teeth: Funny, the only people who don't call me Lainey or El(lie) are my church friends. Not sure why that hasn't happened there

Anywho, I am off now... was looking at some cute cat pics with Luis for a while. Now I am going to try a few things before I go to sleep. see ya!

My family calls me Suzie-not particularly fond of the name. At least they don't call me Susan. I don't answer when people call me that.

Suzanne

Glad things are in place, Suzanne....or should we call you Suzie now? ;)

::yes:: in board issues. Got connection not accepted a bit too often today.

I organize in my head all the time, Elaine ::yes::

Oh got another new topper on Friday.....Chicken Little

I got a load of Halloween candy in the mail today...anyone want some?

Nancy, the stores got five different colors of glitter toppers.

Suzanne

Oh.....I did get the gold and green glitter ones ::yes:: Thanks Suzanne. I already had the red, blue and silver.

The board is moving sooooo slowwww :(

Gotta make this quick as I still haven't packed. Not sure where exactly I'm heading yet. Last word was back to Key West but, since there was more damage than expected near West Palm I may be supervising that sight  .
Nancy - cleaned out my PM box some. Not enough time to get everything done since I'm such a darn good procrastinator. :rolleyes1
Had a voicemail from Karen around 4:00. All are coping at her house. I think just glad to be thru w/that storm. Said they surveyed the neighborhood after the storm passed and there was alot of damage. Her house isn't too bad but, the wind ripped the stack out of the roof and even if/when electric comes back on not sure her's will. Last I heard there were over 6 mil w/o power. Please keep all those in the area in your thoughts as well as all the many people (phone co, electricians, roofers, Red cross, etc) who are heading that way to help out. Trying to prepare myself 'cause this is gonna be worse than any so far this year.
Oh and one more thing LUIS :faint: :teeth:

Suzanne, glad that the move to hospice went smoothly. With the weather thing going on down there anything could have gotten messed up.

Elaine, yes on the issues. BTW, good pics. Look forward to new ones.

Pam, Yay for the deadline beng over.

Alan, great pics. Hope the Mrs. does well and look forward to seeing those pics of the new addition.

Kimmie, yay for your day off. I enjoyed mine, hope you did yours.

Going to get ready for tomorrow.

G'nite all

good evening gang,
Suzanne...glad your mom has been moved to a nice facility. My grandparents both had home hospice and those were the nicest people. They really help you prepare for what's coming. I like Suzanne better than Suzie...unless I'm adding a Q to the end :teeth:

Alan...thanks for the explanation...I thought I was just being a dork again!

Elaine....I had trouble today too but I thought it was the schools internet b/c I couldn't get any sites to come up!

RM...try not to work too hard now. Get your overtime up so you can drink with me in Germany :rotfl:

Karen...hope you all are surviving.

Lily....good night Lily!

Nancy....I promise to get that pm tomorrow!! I promise!!

Bowling sucked tonight...but that's okay b/c everyone had a bad night!!

gotta go to bed now! have a good night all!!
