Oh! I guess for all you recent additions to the family, I should introduce myself! I'm Beth (or Bethie)and I'm one of the Elder Ya Yas. In fact, I thought I was the eldest for awhile there, but I DO believe someone has admitted to being older than my 53 years. But, I'm very young at heart and the child within comes out to play quite frequently. I'm a little crazy, but that comes from living near Washington, DC and putting up with all the upwardly mobile yuppies and techies and politicians in this area, not to mention the rabid, aggressive drivers on our roads!! I have 2 grown kids, Doug is 25 and is a tree surgeon (Yes! My son is a doctor!! :teeth: ) and my daughter, Katy is 23 and runs a day care out of the house she lives in (graciously paid for by her dad, my ex--but we'll save that soap opera for another day) My DH is Dave and he is a Disser, too, under the screenname DaveH (he's sooooo original!) I am a bookkeeper/tax preparer and really like helping people who are trying to run their own businesses and don't have a clue how to keep books or do payroll or anything. Dave and I are both active in our church in one of the handbell choirs and I sing in the regular adult choir, too. I also babysit for our choir director's 3 little princesses almost every week. It's my chance to play grandma and I just love it! I have met most of our original group of Ya Yas and quite a few of the newer ones too. In fact, a bunch of us just had a wonderful time at WDW the first week of December! And there are a few of us who like to do a "Girl's Getaway" in May, too......anyone interested?!

I guess this post will have to be EOIP, I need to finish cooking dinner and go back about 100 pages to see what in tarnation has been going on while I was moping in my cave! Oh, and if anyone sees my cell phone, let me know, would ya?! I feel sooo lost without my cell phone!! I'm thinking I might have left it in my drawer at work........

Hola, Como este?

Good to see you weren't too mothy while I was away, I can actually ketchup in reasonable time.

Paula thanks for the link. That's very neat. Can you buy skim milk, or is it all whole fat?

Susie sorry about the pre-teen attitude you're getting.

:p Pam....this young yaya has a perfectly fine attitude  princess:

Elaine I hope your headache goes away soon

Stacy what part of NC is your husband going to be in? **yup..I'm a young nosey yaya**

Beth sorry I haven't seen your cell phone.

I'd love to join in the girls weekend but I'm sure the husband would scoff at it

:wave2: Wow....can't go away for a day around here anymore....too much ketchup gets spilled!!

Pam....and if we go to a ski lodge again, I will again disappear with my cabana boys and not come out ::yes:: Sounds good to me!!
LOL....roadkill.....but your BaB is roadkill.....someone can tell that story ;)

Kristy....we do not give up our BaB obbession....or our Italian charm obbession, we just need to ADD a new one!! I got the heart shaped candy box today. It is so cute. Lily will be holding it Feb 1st.

Tara  I hope tomorrow isn't too hard on you. Comforting in its way.

JRKaren....what nice people you work with.

I think I will choose a doorknob for the scrapping room with a lock.....and keep the key hidden ::yes::

Caroline....if you go to UW...we can have meets!!

Yes, apartment is a go! She moves the 22nd. It's fairly nice and cheap too...for around these parts. Only costs $50 more to get 2 bedrooms so she went for that. Might come in handy if she doesn't get a job and needs a room mate.

DH is having a business dinner tonight....so no cooking here.

I will be watching ER also....and CSI....and now I gotta go.
I got 4 packages in the mail today  Too much after holiday shopping.
But...yankee cancelled about 1/2 of what I ordered and Penzey's sent me 2 of the same orders

Have a good evening everyone.

Evening, all!

I had a nice 'me day'. Went over to Clearwater (a distance, I might add) to get my car serviced. One of the managers from another local store and I talk on the phone a lot and kept saying we'd do something together. Today, she picked me up from the dealer and we went to lunch and shopping-girl stuff that I never do. Lots of fun! We're both avid cooks and loooove wine-so we're planning to get together with the spousal units one night soon.

I hit the local party supply store and got a bunch of clearance christmas cello wrap for next year's cookies and teacher gifts. It didn't even bother me that the dealer took much longer than promised, because I had someone to keep me busy, lol.

Tara, my thoughts will be with you for all that you're dealing with right now.

Susie, sorry, I've got my hands full with the 'alphabet soup' kid, so no chance of getting me to take your 11 year old.

Pammy, you grew up fast, dincha? I don't think I was that mature until 18 or so, lol!

I think the Yayas need to invade Castaway Cay!

Deena, don't the little ones make life interesting? And in regards to that 'younger yaya", I think she'd tell ya one of those beads wouldn't fit up her nose...snerk!

Sherry, our hubbies must have had the same idea...we had wings tonight, too. We usually only get them at Hooters, but this place was pretty good. I'm spoiled-my first wings were from the Anchor Bar in Bflo-and the sister who lived up there for ten years gave me a gosh darn good recipe for them.

Kristy, I have to go buy some textbooks tomorrow, too...yippee. I got an email back confirming I can take the classes down here, but I may actually take the CLEP exams again. Independent study is good :)

JRKaren, hope you're doing better today.

Gosh, milk from the dairy, I miss it. Not gonna find cows around here.

Suzanne

Headache is mostly gone... just dealing with aches... I guess I over did it a bit too much with the Pilates

Oh freak out - I forgot all about the Yurt!!! :rotfl:

We could leave at Olympic City in Utah, huh, Kimmie??!! :jumping4:
wink.gif
How on earth could you forget the Yurt?? :teeth:

I'm all for Olympic City... but won't it be a year before the Olympics happen?

Stacy, I totally understand. Luis can be gone for 1 minute and I miss him... but good luck with all the planning while he is gone!

Bethie is w/o a cell phone??? Dear Lord help her! I do feel for you. I am so lost when I don't have mine.

Girls getaway in May? Really? Can I come? :)

Hola, Como este?
Oh dear... let's not let Luis see this... I'm more forgiving of that type of thing than he is
(and of course I am teasing a great deal... we have a good sense of humor about pronunciations/spellings of Spanish... particularly names... and how many of y'all thought Luis was pronounced like Louis? Yeah, it's not... Lew-eece is closer)

sorry about the silly tangent

Hey hey hey Nancy!! No disappearing on us! Yay for Christin's apartment though!!!! :hyper:

Suzanne, that sounds like a perfect day!

Nancy,

Ooohhh....Penzey's! If it's too much for you to use, I'll gladly unload you of it. The best spice place in the world!

Suzanne

Hey - did ya'll know that Beth's cell phone makes phone calls in 23 countries????!!! I think i am done with it for tonight - don't want to come off as a phone hog - who wants it next?

I'm all for Olympic City... but won't it be a year before the Olympics happen?

Ahem........ The athletes will need a LOT of supervison - and someone to monitor them in the hot tub and sauna and during rub downs after a long day's practice....... :smooth:

I was not mature at 18--- :earseek: I just have got my ears pierced for the first (and only) time when I was 32!!!! Oh - and my DD actually only has her ears pierced twice, plus one cartilage and her bellybutton.

Nancy - WooHoo on Christin's apartment!

Suzanne - wow - you have been making great progress on your house.

Oh - and Suzanne and Kristy - we got DD's 2nd semester of books last week - DD called and said, "Good news, it was *only* $321.00 this time around!" :earseek: Last time it was over $445.00......

Sheeeesh! What a day! Homeschool stuff. Is it Friday yet?

Did someone say something about the Olympics?! :Pinkbounc But see... in order to do the next winter Olympics, we'd have to head to Italy. Sounds like a plan to me! Let's go! :teeth:

I can't have any more birthdays? Shucks. Okay I guess I can live with that. :) Oh! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO WMKathy!!

I would, but I would want YOUR cabana man Viggo! Grubby or clean I'd take him! But as I understand it, there is no sharing
Ack! Okay, all old YaYas know this, but... I've never had anyone want one of my cabana men before. LOL!! They usually run screaming in the opposite direction when my guys show up. Share a cabana man?! Eeeeep!! But but... okay how's this? A Viggo parade of new pics in the sig for Debloco and me? Minus the nakey pic that is. Unless someone has a spare fig leaf I could borrow....

Suzanne, yay to your CA and Disneyland trip!! Disneyland... ah! I love it! Indiana Jones, Pirates... Blue Bayou... sigh!

:rotfl: Free 11 yo. :p Made me LOL!!

Have fun in WDW Debloco!!!

Stacy, we're thrilled to have you and all of the other fun loving new YaYas with us!

Can Elaine and I come out of Time Out now?

Hi'ya SSB!!

Bethie... the little 16 yo in your church has my thoughts and prayers with her! Bless her heart.

Yay for Christin's apt!!! Maybe DH can put his legos in Christin's extra bedroom.

Charms and BABs. I am BAB'less. :(

Kristy's sig pic makes me smile!

TC, I'm glad to hear you and your ankle received a good report. I hope the healing will continue as much as possible with the passage of time.

Groceries... bwahahahaha! Snork. Never mind. I'm tired. Pam's posts just have a way of making me giggle. Sorry. Snerk snerk... Seriously, you have no idea how many smiles you bring to my day Pammy. :)

Caroline heard from U of Wash... good news. We're keeping our fingers crossed for you that all goes well with those apps. Caroline.

Tara, my thoughts are with you. I know the celebration of Rick's life will be tough, but also so bittersweet. A hug to you!!

Hmmmm... a monastery huh? Well, ummm... er.... I think I'll hold out for Italy. ;)

JRKaren, those are some sweet and caring co workers you have!

Uh oh... beads up the nose. Boo honey, Do not try this at home!

Hey - did ya'll know that Beth's cell phone makes phone calls in 23 countries????!!! I think i am done with it for tonight - don't want to come off as a phone hog - who wants it next?
:rotfl: See!! You did it again!! :rotfl:

Ahem........ The athletes will need a LOT of supervison - and someone to monitor them in the hot tub and sauna and during rub downs after a long day's practice.......
Dibs on the men's short track team!!!!!!

Thank to those who offered to take her and to those who don't want her, I understand. The "worst moment of her life" has passed and she is a loving child again.

Been out for a while so I'll have to ketchup:

First up- Pam - "Oh, freak out" I haven't heard that in years. My best friend used to say that all the time! Thanks for bringing back so many happy memories.

JRKaren - so glad that today was better. Sounds like you work with a real good group of people. I'm gonna have to go ahead and let you keep your bro and Dad. Thanks much though!

Beth - Thank you so much for the offer to take her! I gave her warning that she may have a new home soon. Please have the cabana boys (if someone will loan me Johnny Depp for a few) bring me somthing with alcohol and an umbrella.

I know I missed some but I am so tired. I've was home for about 30 mintues earlier and just got back home again. I aplogize if I missed you.

Gotta go - I have a feeling I have about used up my emoticon limit....

omg!! I had to read three more pages!! I go and talk on the phone for two plus hours and come back to find these pages moving at light speed!

Um to the seller of the 11 year old...hehehehehehe...as a middle school teacher I can tell you one thing...it will only get worse!!! You probably should up YOUR meds or addictions so that you don't feel the need to kill her!! But as I tell all of my parents, the darling cherub that you once had will return but it will take until about the 10th grade. Then you will be able to lvoe them again! Good luck Susie!

Suzanne....cool shopping trip!!! If we say Hooters to Ethan he immidately thinks "Dinner" ;)

Nancy...bad DH and his legos, good Christin has an apt., good luck on the job hunt for her

Deena...I saw you stick the bead up Connor's nose!!! I'm sure of it. Oh and I used to call Jarrod "captain destructo"!!!!

JRK....crying can be good for you at work. Where have you been hiding Liz today.

Pam...why didn't you tell me you had her cell phone...I would have used her minutes for my 2 hour phone call!!

Beth...liked the intro and good luck with that phone issue. I'm sure it will turn up soon! :teleport:

Elaine...I was one of the surprised ones at the pronunciation of his name. I now read all of your posts with his name as "Leweece"

Karen..where ya been hding? The doc give you some good drugs you ain't sharing? Hope all is well.

Caroline.... I :worship: to you the queen of Ketchup. We must find a suitable botttle to display your likeness on!

woops...sorry about that...it was only my first night of class  So what's the correct spelling? I'm sure I'll be tested on it soon :charac2:
Mark me as guilty on the pronunciation of Luis too...honestly I still pronounce it the wrong way in my head...but know that isn't correct...just like in my head I still pronounce Tara as Tara not Tarah  I'll try to fix it :) :)

Okay Nancy...I'm cool with a new obsession as long as we don't have to give up the BAB one. Congrats on finding an apartment for Christin.

Suzanne your shopping trip sounds divine! Glad you had a great day. Good luck on the text book. Pam ouch on your wallet too. My ONE book cost me 109.00 today plus the 50.00 workbook

Tara night night

Alright.....just for Kimmie I'm willing to bypass the ski lodge for Olympic Park...but I get all the beefed up body guards...preferably the ones with shaved heads..'k?

Looks as though the hubby has headed for bed, so I guess I should do the same. Hasta manana

Oh dear... let's not let Luis see this... I'm more forgiving of that type of thing than he is

I actually knew how to pronounce Luis - but that's only because I watch Passions occasionally to watch buff-bod Luis! Jesse Metcalf, the young gardener on Desperate Housewives also used to be on this show! :faint:

Gee, and I knew how to pronounce Luis from Sesame Street!

Dating myself, I know, as I don't think he's on there anymore!

Suzanne

You all are moving way too fast tonight for me to even attempt to try to catch up, so you all can imagine that this post is filled with my typical interesting and witty comments.

Oh, but I will say I am already going to be there in May--May 7-13 to be exact. Taking my first trip home :)

Karen

No spoilers for Nancy but ER was good tonight--close to what the shows used to he. The past season or so I havent been that impressed but they did better tonight. My only complaint is more Noah Wylie puckerup: I must have more!
