Greetings to Magicmouse. One of the minority "bothers" here. Also Married to the L&G Julie. One daughter headed to college at Indiana Wesleyan University in the fall. One VERY new to us cat who is trying to adjust to being a pet. (Named Dixie).

Spent the afternoon at one family reunion and then a F.O.T.S.

***whew!!!***

What a nice day today! Not exactly winter but it was WAY better than what we've had this past week!

Time to go watch another episode of of "Pride and Predjudice". (It's not just a chick flick!)

My Dh got 2 bottles of that "stuff"; he has to drink 1 bottle 3 hrs. before, 1/2 the 2nd bottle 1/2 hr before, and bring the rest of the liquid to drink at the Imaging Center (I imagine just before going into the CAT scan machine). We'll see what happens....

Learned a lot at my new workplace, got my hair trimmed and did some grocery shopping. Exciting life, I know.

Kristy, so when is the big moving day? Another week or so? Don't envy you packing and carrying this time of year--too dang hot!!! But if it was into my very own house like you, I don't think I'd even notice the weather!!!

Hey Rosemary!! Pack rat here too, but just for certain things. Other stuff I am trashing constantly!! Can't even count how many times I've kicked myself for throwing something away. Haven't learned yet, though.

Deena, whaddya mean "none of us are over the hill"?? What hill?? I didn't see any hill!!! In any case, I am here to tell ya that it's a lot more fun on this side of 50 than I ever dreamed it would be!!!! I can get away with soooooooo much more!!

Kimmar....I really don't envy your husband having to drink that stuff. I've heard stories from various coworkers and friends over the years.

Beth, you do indeed have an exciting life! So how did you like being at the new job place today??? At least you weren't home cleaning a toilet! I love my haircut days...have one next Saturday. Move day is on 7/12, so I'll be an AWAL yaya probably the morning of 7/11 till late in the evening 7/12. We're in the process of moving over some wall pictures and fragile things. No way in the world would we move everything ourselves. That's what moving companies are for(my husbands words). **live on the 3rd floor of an apartment building and going into a 2 story house** I'll never turn down the option of hiring movers

Im a back from the mall and I have to tell everyone what an idiot I am. I bought Michael some shorts at Sears, bought a couple of bears at the Hallmark store and then went to TDS. Well when I got ready to pay for my stuff I had no purse. I was freaked! Told the cm my purse was stolen in her store. They called mall security who then came over. Called dr to come to the mall (a 30 min drive) to give me my extra set of keys so I could begin all my cc calls--well just 2 I only carry 2 cc. So I then say well call the Hallmark store just to see. And guess what I had left it there on the counter. The guy put it behind the counter for me.
Tried to call dr back but he was already on his way and didnt have on his cell phone. I thanked everyone--they were so nice and helpful. But my dh was best of all he didnt give me any crap for it--he is def a keeper (my x would have been screaming for a week ).

Beth I still dont think any of us are over the hill. That happens at about 70

Hi, I'm home from TDS and have a few minutes before nite nite!

Kristy, I teach deaf and hard of hearing students. I teach all core classes in a middle school and all of them are taught in sign language. When I got my lic. plate with that they didn't have it. isign4u, so I had to come up with another way of spelling it. I have had this plate since 1991. And while in college I was driving through Suffolk, VA, headed towards NC when I stopped for gas. An elderly black man stopped, looked at my tags, and then proceed to ask me what my tags meant. I explained the same thing to him but that I was in school to become a teacher. He shook his head, clucked his tongue and then told me that my plate looked like it said "I sin for you". So I tried to explain how the "e" makes the "y" into an "i" sound. He didn't get it. He told me he was a minister and that it really looked like I was proud to be a sinner. He advised me to get a new tag. I was very polite and thanked him for his opinion and then returned to my car and laughed all the way to NC. Now I use it for all my log in names because I know it so well.

Didn't I see a post a while back that mhopset was leaving the dis? I thought it was something about a disagreement with the mods and such. I saw him join Passporter right after that. Could be mistaken but i could swear it was the same screen name with the real name of tony.

Just got up and feel blah, so I'm playing hookie from church today.
Tara, thanks for the explanation. That story is cute. I have to admit that I too had a hard time trying to figure out if it was sign or sin. I do commend you though for your dedication to your job. When I was very small child, I loved to watch one of my distant cousins signing to my great uncle at family reunions and get togethers. It was always so smooth and serene. I know I got swatted a time or two for staring, but I wanted to know how she did it. I still think it's a beautiful language. If you don't mind me asking, how did you come about the decision to teach deaf children?

Deena, glad you found your purse. I had a panic attack yesterday when I couldn't find my ATM card . Can't lve without the ATM. I did have my whole purse stolen once. Not a fun experience.

Beth tell us how your training went when you get a chance. How long have you been in your current job and did you feel comfy at the training for the new one? Since I may be going thru same thing soon just wanted some input.

I really dont like when there is nothing there, lol. You get all set to find out something about this poster and click profile and its all blank If you looked at mine you'll see almost my whole life story, lol.
Tara--I would never have seen I sin for you. Guess that was his job so he saw it, lol. That is so cool. I always wanted to learn to sign. I had a deaf friend a short while when I was about 10. SHe taught me a little--which I have since forgotten. I didnt see the post about Tony leaving. I did see him in chat--not last night but the Sat before.
Last night before I left TDS I bought a few of the little washrags that come compact and I bought a Tarzan shirt for my mephew for his b-day or Christmas...it was 5.99. Plus I got to use my dvc discount but the cm's always look confused when I hand it in instead of my DC card.

4GreatBoys- I agree that since that was his job, he was looking for it! I wanted to tell him that maybe if it meant I sin, then maybe I was having more fun than he was. But I was good and kept my mouth shut!!

As for the DVC we always give that look because it does not have a scan bar or a code. We don't get that many so we have to look up the number for it. Trust me I did the same thing on Friday night. I will remember the code through today and then will forgtet it before next weekend when I work.

Glad you were able to get a good deal on your stuff.

Morning all!

Well, I survived the bridal shower. Man, I was running around the whole time. Didn't even get to eat until after it was all over. It was a very nice shower, though, and everyone seemed to enjoy it. My crazy BIL made me talk into a mic, though, and I almost had a heart attack.

After the shower, came home and changed, and we went back to Cleveland (well, Cleveland area) cuz my DH's band played in a battle of the bands at a Christian coffee house. They were awesome, but they didn't win.

Didn't go to bed last night until 1:30, and slept in today until 10:30! LOL

Deena, glad you got your purse back. I would have totally freaked, too.

I might be a bit scarce the next 2 weeks. DH is home (shutdown) and the second week of July I took the week off babysitting so we could spend some quality family time together.
