Welcome to the WISH Biggest Loser 7 Challenge

Brenda, Thank you once again for all of your hard work! Our weight keeper rocks!

I personally was not a huge fan of the giant thread. I actually like it better now that it is not as active even though that means people have dropped out. It was so hard to keep up with everybody in the giant thread and it felt a lot more impersonal than the last challenge. I think in the future I would like to see a return of teams in some kind of format. I know part of the problem was people dropping out and some of the teams got way too small. There are a couple of ways we could combat that. We could do fewer teams, even if we just had two that would make it more personal than the giant thread. Another thing I have seen on another site was everybody posted on the same thread but was put into teams. This gave you a specific person who could PM you, encourage you in the thread, etc.

All that being said, this challenge has been wonderful and all involved have done a great job! I am always up for helping out. I find that having to help makes me more likely to follow through. On my own I am more likely to drop out, but if I help I have responsibility to stay.

As for this week, I was not a superstar. I gained 1.6 last week. I believe most of it was due to being on my period and constipation related to my stomach issues, although certainly there were some bad food choices.

Now for the good news: I had a second phone interview with the school in Nashville and they are considering me for a position that was not even on the website in addition to the one I applied for. I think that I have a decent shot at this! I also weighed in tonight and lost .6. I didn't totally recoup my gain from last week, but I am going back the right direction!

ETA: Congratulations Vija!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS VIJA and the rest of the BIG loser's!!

Brenda - Thank you for all that you do - I don't know how you do it girl! YOU ROCK!

I actually like the bigger threads. It makes you feel apart of a great team and you get to know everyone. I feel like you get the benefit of many more wise and helpful people. But either is fine with me - I'm just happy we have the challenge. It has really helped me!!

Congrat Vija

Thanks Brenda for the great stats that you do.

Sorry I have been too busy to post this past week. The local school's musical is done. Add on the change in time and a drive to take ds2 back to school did me in. By Monday night (i had school on MOnday and a math team event on MOnday after school) I felt that I had a check list for the weekend and I finally got to check off the last thing. Tues after school I had to go grocery shopping because I had not been in over a week and I needed some fruits and veggies.

I think I am on my way to relaxing as long as I get my progress reports done before 2:30 this after noon. It is going to be tight but I think I should be able to do it.

HAve a great day everyone.

I too like the thread now that many people have dropped out. YOu really get to know the people who are going to make it till the end of the challenge.

Brenda, thanks for everything that you do to keep the records straight.

Vija, you rock, girl! WEIGH to go!

My reports are done, checked, and now just need all of the office things done-signed, photocopied, stuffed, filed,. . . . Next week is March Break, and, except for taxes and 1 meal out

I haven't anything planned. Hopefully, I can get back to the thread!

Have a good week!

Sorry, had to go MIA for a couple of days (more like a computer diet;) ).

Still hanging in there this week, got a couple of good walks in over the weekend but developed a blister and had to take a day off then had a really bad sleepless night so just didn't have the energy yesterday. Hopefully this afternoon we'll get another one in. Have been doing pretty good on my eating so I'm hoping for a loss this week.

Congrat's to all the Superstars this week and a big cheer for Vija:cheer2: .

Monday QOTD: What is your favorite healthy place to eat at Disney?

LeCellier has a great salad that I always like to get, can't remember the name of it though.

Tuesday QOTD: If you could transport yourself to Disney right now - Where would you be and what would you be doing?

I would be enjoying waking up at the VWL enjoying my coffee, waiting for the kids to wake up and have a wonderful family day with no worries.

!
I would be in the front of MK singing zip-a-dee-doo-dah with my son during the opening ceremony getting so excited for a wonderful day. I would also be looking forward to our adr at Crystal Palace. Our last trip to MK was just the two of us, and we stayed at mk from opening at 9am until 1 am during emh. It was such a fun day.

:cheer2: Congrats Vija!!!
Congrats to all the top losers, and all of us still hanging in!!

Thank you, thank you, Brenda for all you time and hard work with the weight each week. This challenge is so helpful to so many and you make that possible for all of us. :flower3:

I like the big thread, though in the beginning I did find it overwhelming and hard to keep up, but as the challenge has gone on, it's a nice size now, and its nice to get to know everybody.

Have a great day.

Or are we close to the end??

My DIS NBC insider has confirmed to me that the last episode of the BL TV show will be three hours on Tuesday, May 12. That means the TV show will go for another 6 weeks than what we expected in December when this challenge was organized. Biggest Loser Central is in the planning stages of what to do next to finish out the BL TV season until May12.

Now is the time to voice your opinions of our WISH BL7 challenge. What did you like? What didn't you like? What would you like to see in the future? Can you help out? Please post, PM or email your thoughts to me. Biggest Loser Central is made up of unpaid volunteers that work tirelessly to make this fun for you. The more volunteers we have the less work for each person.

How was your week? Were you a superstar? Why or why not? Only you know the answer to that. This is a lifestyle change. We are here to live healthier lives. We are here to change habits. How are you doing? It's worth the effort. Remember the old saying 'nothing tastes as good as being thin feel'. You know it is true. Get to work superstar!

Thank you, Brenda, for all your hard work keeping track of the numbers.

This is my first WISH challenge. I like the big thread, especially now that there are fewer people to keep up with. I worry that if there was more than one thread I would end up on the thread that got down to one person! :scared1: I would like to see the COW come back, even if it isn't scored. I would like to see this thread continue until May 12th and maybe we could adjust our goals or keep our goals until the end of March and then have a six week goal. I would be happy to help with something. I didn't feel that I could before because I wasn't sure how this thread worked but I think I could now.

Oh, (and yes a little gloating here) what I am really happy about is seeing my name up on that list! I am going to have to "hustle my bustle," as my Mom says, to make my goal by the end of the month. Congratulations, Vija, and all the other superstars!

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Linda and have sent a message to Brenda about joining your group even though it is so late.I do need some motivation(competition) to get this party started.

My scale has been stuck at 165 for so long, even training for and doing the full marathon this past January did not move a lb.

I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and all I can say is WOW!

As of this a.m. I am finally moving that scale- 162 today.I know we aren't supposed to report until Friday but I am so happy I had to share.

So I hope there is room for me in your group. This is going to be a great challenge.I am usually on here most mornings before I start my day.

To answer the question of the day-I want to just sit on Main Street and look at the castle and listen to the music.

Linda

Congratulations Losers!!!

I would definitely like to continue in some way. We could either crown our champions in March as planned and then set new goals for six week session or just extend this one. If we start fresh then new people could join us.

Hey everyone - Did anyone else notice that the teams on BL7 are going home next week? I'm lost. I thought they stayed till 3 ppl were left?? There are still a lot there.

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

I am doing pretty good - About 10lbs lost so I can't complain. I did derail myself for a few weeks and I had my daughter's birthday cake the past two days. I really need to stay focused and not lose sight of what I want - That is to be at goal by my birthday or no later than my trip to Disney in Aug.

i've got one foot off the journaling wagon, anyone have a hand to help me back up??
!
Let me help you back in. I have two feet out of the wagon, and I'd love to commit to journalling with you and check in every day. I think we did this before. I write my breakfast down, and put my tracker in my scrub pocket most every morning, and never take it out again. So starting right now, I'm going to track every bite. Shall we say for a week? Or til next friday's weighin? We can do this!!

:welcome: Glad you're seeing that scale move. The 30 day shred is a tough workout. I don't do too well with the push-ups and jumping jacks, but sweat like crazy through it.

I didn't notice that on the show last night. I couldn't believe how crazy they went, and were surprised Jillian was mad.
10 pounds is great for this challenge, melanie. You should be proud.

QOTD for me, I am not on track with the eating, and am just up and down with the same few pounds. I'm still a little less than when we started, so I haven't gained. When we wrote our goals down in the beginning, mine were to lose 15 pounds,(not happening), and to exercise 5 days a week, 30min 3 days, and 60 min 2 days, and I have been doing that faithfully. So for that I am happy. I am going get back to journalling my food, which is a huge help to me. Initially, I was going to start tomorrow, but tonight I'm going to chili's for dinner, so I need to start now.

Welcome Linda!

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

I've lost just over 10 pounds since the challenge started. I am on track but will have to really work hard to meet my goal by the end. I need to really watch what I eat and add more exercise because I need to do that anyway. We should all be proud of what we have accomplished so far because if we hadn't participated in this thread we would be where we started, or even worse, farther in the hole! :scared:

There is an article on Time.com talking about how people who journal lose twice as much. It's working for me!

Wednesday's QOTD: How are you doing on the BL7 Challenge? Are you on track? If not - what do you need to do to get back on course?

I haven't done as well as I would have liked to, but it seems the more I lose the more will power I gain. I've only lost 15lbs, but after doing something my cousin told me it's more than I thought.

She told me whenever you think it's only * lbs, go to the grocery store and for example you've lost 15lbs get 3 5lb bags of sugar and hold them at the same time... that's how much you've lost.

It really makes a difference to look at it that way. Feel free to try it!

Keep up the good work everyone!!!

I am NOT on track but do have one leg running on the track! ha ha! I told you all I had the stress fracture on my foot and it is healing nicely, I'm happy to say, but not happy to say I haven't been doing any exercise. This past week I ate frozen WW and Lean C for lunch and dinner and did not lose weight - too much sodium? I'm thinking yes - I had canned Campbells soup one night and got a rash, I think from all the sodium!

To get back on track - I too need to journal! And exercise again. And I would love to continue after March!

QUOTD-wed--

I'm doing better than I ever imagined. Of course the stars have just lined up right for me. This message board is gold to me as well and this challenge. Now the trick is to keep it off. I felt for the black team with their weight gains from the spa--it seems I look at food these days and gain weight. It is pretty grim what I am looking at to keep it off.
On another note-- it looks like the blue team is just going down...they should of voted Ron off a long time ago in my opinion. :sad1:

Hey Big Losers! :woohoo:

I know I don't make it here very often to post, but I do read what everyone says and I learn alot from your answers -- plus I get a ton of support. I would love it if we could continue through May -- then I might actually meet my goals! :lmao:

Congratulations to everyone who's still here! Whether you're making lists or not, you are a big winner because you are still trying! :yay:

QOTD: I am way off from my goals, but I am losing. It is so much slower than I had hoped for, I guess my eyes were not as big as my stomach!:rotfl: I need to be consistent with my exercise to get back on course.

Thanks to all the volunteers for all the work you do to make this possible. It is greatly appreciated! :grouphug:
