glad the GAC worked for going into FotLK...can't believe that the show was canceled...oh man that is a huge let down...Nathan would have flipped for a huge change like that after waiting...so glad it did work out despite the no show...

don't recall seeing several of those other hidden Mickey's too...great fun!

and oh yes I always giggle at the duh it rains in FL people

The kids didn't know any difference when the show was cut really short because they have never seen it.

Heidi I'm so jealous (but happy for you), your kids are having such great AK days and you got so many cute photos. I need to consult with you more before my next trip

I understand what you mean. Our 2008 trip with Liam was nothing to brag about and I came home rather disappointed. But this trip I set the bar so low that there wasn't much chance not to have a good outcome. I'm always available for brainstorming about your next trip!

Are those information stickers on the back of the kids shirts? I wanted to get the tattoo's with numbers but knew it would bother them, the back of shirt stickers look like a great idea.

Yes those are informational stickers on the kid's backs. They wore them everywhere except TL. Those ones were a proto-type of a product I hope to sell, because everything I've found on the internet is way over priced!

The sticker you can see says: "If I need help peel off this label to reveal my contact information."
All the contact info is hidden.

Liam never knew he was wearing it.

Huge bummer about FOTLK! I would have been upset...

It looks like AK was a hit even without the show.

Yeah I was a bit personally disappointed in not seeing it too because I didn't see it in January on propose so I could see it with the kids.

Rotten luck to have FOTLK cancelled like that.... Ariana would have refused to leave and be upset the rest of the day. The sheared Mickey head and Ghost Whisperer pics are hilarious!

I was looking at the tags on their shirts too.

I might be in trouble some day with Liam in that regard because as it is now if he watches a DVD movie - the movie MUST play thru the credits and back to the menu before you can shut it off.

If I have samples ready in time for your fall trip I'll send you some for the kids to wear.

Looks like they were really liking AK. What a total bummer about FOTLK, I would have been VERY upset - nevermind the kids. It is my absolute favorite show.

Where is the dig site? Don't know that I want to introduce it to Daniel though, I might not get him out of there. He is a huge sensory seeker and loves playing in anything textural.

The dig site playground is on the edge of Dinoland. The actual sand pit is "upstairs" and across a bridge. At least you now know somewhere to take him if he really needs that sensory break. The sand is big grains (all the same size) and washed really well so it's not dirty. I found it in socks, shoes and diapers thru out the day!

That elephant cupcake looks delish!

Yeay for the Jungle Pool! We loved our visit there, too.

Those are some great safari pics!! Don't think I've ever gotten anything half as good.

The trick is to take tons of them and only show the best ones!

Any safari pics with giraffes in them are good safari pic in my opinion!

I always think of you when I see Giraffes at AK!

Sorry to hear about your Festival of the Lion King Show... that happened to us ince at the Nemo Show!!! We waited and waited and walked and walked... sat down... the show started and POW there were flashes all around us! The lights came on and we were kindly asked to get out!!!

Also just wanted to say that I was one of those people tethered to the rail on the safari... not in your photo but on the tours opening day... January 16th!!! Joe Rodhe was on my tour... meeting the man behind the Animal Kingdom was the most awesome experience I ever HAD in Disney!!!!

We ended up with 2 visits to MK (originally planned for 3). Here are the pictures from our visit on Wednesday 3/2

We got to the park too early….like a solid 40 minutes too early. Both Liam and Danica don’t do well waiting in one area too long.

Here they are off to the right side (we had been looking at the movie posters) with about 30 minutes to go. One good thing….I found out there are bathrooms in that building that has the lockers!

Here they are 10 minutes before the opening show!

Does this look familiar or what??? This is Liam waiting in 2008 for MK to open.

It’s my goal next trip to time getting to the MK better!

And don’t worry….those sad faces didn’t last. Once the opening show started they were much better and watched it …..a bit confused as to what they were seeing but no crying. We were able to manage Liam’s sensory overload and once we could move the stroller both kids were fine!

DH gets motion sickness but at the last minute he decided to join us on the Tea Cups because if you don’t spin the wheel in your cup, your cup doesn’t spin itself…it rotates around the ride and he thought he could handle that. Too bad Danica had other ideas! She tried all ride long to get that cup spinning!

I wasn’t sure how the kids would do with the characters…..Liam hated them in 2008 so we took the watch from afar approach. Chants of “Woody! Woody!” could be heard from both kids!! They liked them from a distance at least.

The kids played at the Splash Mt. play area as we waited for the next WDW RR Train.

I tried to get you guys a sneak peek photo….instead I got mesh fence.

We stumbled on the Move it, Shake it, Celebrate parade a few minutes before it was to start (didn’t have plans to see it). I got a popcorn bucket to share with Danica and we pulled up some curb. As you can see from the last picture Liam really got into it. Dancing in his seat, clapping and BIG smiles. Made this Mama get a little teary eyed. Walt always makes sure that I get a little pixie dust in the Magic Kingdom with Liam. In 2008 it was Liam’s hair cut at the Barber Shop, this trip it was this parade.

UGH! We plan so hard to get there "right on time" and sometimes get there too early! I did that once at AK, and I have to say, Wes Palm saved my bacon. YOu just never can tell with the busses or crowds or other hang ups that would cause a delay. Glad those tears didn't last though. Happy smiles are what we mommies LOVE to see!! Hurrah for Liam's groove thing he got going during the parade- another happy memory made!
