Can anyone give me some suggestions for what to do for a welcome party? Im already having a illuminations dessert party on the day of the wedding so i dont want another dessert party.

There will be ablout 26guests including 4 children. I dont want anything thats going to cost a small fortune though!

Any idea's would be great! :grouphug:

Do you want a preivate event?
If not, do a character meal (ex. Chef Mickey's, 1900 Park Fair) or Mickey's Backyard BBQ - they are a lot of fun.

It doesnt have to be a private event, im not really bothered about that either way. I Like the idea of Mickeys Backyard BBQ, but serveral of my family have done it several times. Someone else mentioned a luau?? does anyone have any info on this, how much it costs for adults+ kids etc?

The luau is roughly the same pricing as Hoop-Dee-Doo, about $50 for adults and $25 for kids ages 3-9.

were having our welcome dinner at the rainforest cafe at dtd in the amazon private room with a custom menu. its costing like $2400 for 64 guests.

as for the luau we were not impressed with the new spirit of aloha show, i would go with ohana instead which is just great. buffet meal like $24 per adult plus entertainment like hula games, etc. check out the info at allearsnet.com/dining ohanas is good for groups too with long tiki tables.

I guess I was under the impression that the luau and ohana were the same thing. My FDH wanted our rehersal dinner at the luau but our wedding is on a tues and they do not do luau's on mon night as far as I know. So, ohana sounds close to what he would like do you have any more info on that??

2bweddndis - yep the luau/spirit of aloha show & ohana's restaurant at the polynesian are two seperate events/restaurants.

ohana's restaurant is on the second floor of the main house at the polynesian resort. its family style $24.99 per adult & $10.99 for kids 3-9. round tables & long tiki tables which can easily fit a large group, we had 22 at a table during a big family trip. you can also see the mk fireworks in the distance & the music is sometimes piped in to the restaurant.

'Ohana ...a place of family, laughter and sharing ...Hawaiian style. Spend an Evening with Us and Experience an Unforgettable Event as We Celebrate the Meaning of Family. Your waiter will entertain you with island wit and banter
as you are served from 3-foot skewers.

Starters, Fried Wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing

Appetizers, Spicy-sweet and sour shrimp, Honey-coriander chicken wings
