Has anyone ever put together a welcome packet for other families travelling with them. I want to make a packet with some info and maybe a little gift for my family coming with us but wanted to see if anyone had ideas. They are all adults

I did a packet for my parents for our January trip. It was my parents' first trip to WDW and I was very excited.

I put together our itinerary with dinner ressies. I made luggage tags on the computer and got self-laminating luggage tags at Office Depot. I included a packing list as well. I wrote them a little letter about going for the trip. I sent it anonymously and and signed it from your fairy godmother.

They loved it! Just a few ideas.

What an ABSOLUTE great idea! I had never thought of that. Let me think on this one will come back....

What a great idea. :thumbsup2 How very thoughtful and sweet as well!

I am not sure when you are leaving or how much time you have to get the packet together, but you can go to WDW.com and do the customized maps of the parks. We did these several years back with our kids and they simply loved them.

Maybe you can find some information about the resort and the activites and print it out that way they can really get a feel for the DVC you are staying at. You know something similar to what they give you when you check in.

Although a bit of a stretch, you can check ebay they sometimes have little trinkets like button and magnets for the resorts. If you have the time and can get things at a reasonable price it would be fun to have those little "surprises" included in the packet.

Thanks for such a wonderful idea, we haven't brought anyone with us yet (just joined last June) but would love to do something like this when we do.

Enjoy your vacation! :goodvibes

That's a great idea! Can you tell us where you're staying and when?

Yes, we put together welcome packets for all our guests. We start with printing pictures of the villas and a copy of the floor plan. Then we put in information about tickets and the best places to get the best prices. If there are kids traveling, we have done things like including Disney dollars (when you could buy those), and once we even did Mickey ears for the kids ahead of time. We also have had "planning meetings" with the guests explaining the dining plans etc. Only twice have our guests wanted to do the dining plans. We don't do DDP unless we have guests who are interested in it.

I buy those little colored folders that kids use for homework and place all the information in that. We invite them over for a "dessert" meeting and usually serve it on Disney plates to set the mood. By the time we all get to the resort, they know most of the details about bus schedules, best parks on which day, restaurants, etc, etc, etc.

This year for the first time, we have rented some of our points out to a family we know well from Church. We had them over for a "dessert" meeting and gave them their info packet. They KNOW that when they get to OKW on the 24th, they will be all set to enjoy the best WDW has to off!;)

I have done a welcome packet for families that travel with us, which is usally family. In each packet I give an itinerary of everyones flight information and when they are arriving as well as how they are getting to the hotel. As most of us are staying at the same hotel I just list that but if someone is at another i give that info as well. I also give a list of all advance dinning reservations and whose name it is under and what time they should be at hte place, I also give them maps of the parks and the resort. Depending on what is going on and why we are all together, I have made luggage tags, and a spreadsheet of park times, I have also given a list of expense sheet. Also I have given them some Disney dollars, a pen, a pin andything that i can find.

If the family is not traveling with is but I have helped them make all the reservations, I usually give them a map of their resort, a list of the park times and some suggestions.

Good luck
