We closed on a BCV contract in December, and I got email and snailmail with my Disney Club pin from Disney. I called member services and was able to get my Disney Club number and my Member Number, but I still have not received my Member Cards or information packet. When can I expect to get this information? And, I read alot of people talking about thier "guides". Will I get assigned a guide automatically? What do guides do for you?:confused3

Thanks for any help.

It will take a few (several) weeks to get your blue card. That will only be a problem if you are planning a trip soon AND wanted to take advantage of DVC member perks. Depending on the perk, they often ask to see the card. Other than that, no biggie.

You WON"T get a welcome package. You will eventually start receiving the annual Vacation Planner and other DVC mailings, but you won't get the full package of documentation you get when you buy direct from DVC. If you need any of those documents, like the POS, you can call MS and have them sent to you. Most of the stuff is either marketing material or legalese stuff you'll only read here on the DIS. You may want the Vacation Planner, because it's nicely done, and pretty much all-inclusive. Very good to have when you have a question about some of the technical "How do I ...?" questions.

:rotfl: They're your own personal timeshare salesmen...just what you always wanted. They are helpful if you want to add on direct from DVC. Otherwise...

Actually, some people have great guides and have good relationships with them. But they're timeshare salespersons...don't forget that.

We don't get a welcome package? I thought we did..a tote bag or something and the planner and documentation. So if I want a current planner I have to call??

We closed on a resale contract at end of October. We were able to make reservations and had membership numbers within about 10 days of closing. Our membership cards arrived in the mail in November and our planner arrived early January (toScotland).

No tote bag! Although, boy would I'd love one!;)

And for a mere $2500 you can do an add on and get one!

We also closed in early Dec.
No membership card or any info yet. Not even the ID to log onto the website.
I called and got membership number, so we are there.
Are they usually this slow??

My resale was half a dozen years ago now, and I remember it taking longer to get the membership card than doing the entire resale.

We closed the end of dec and no cards or planner. If you want to log on to the site, you need to call MS and get transferred to internet department to get you club ID. Then you need the "one time password" from the "let your mouse loose" email. then you can log on.

Thanks. We did get the password just no ID.
I did call and they said they couldn't do it.....never mentioned getting in touch with someone else

Interesting. We called member services, and they were able to give us our member ID and our Club ID. No transfers. Didn't talk to anyone else. Guess it depends on who you talk to.:confused3
