Welcome Newbies - Let's get to know each other!

Hello fellow Disney freaks!!

I'm Traci from Sacramento, CA. I'm also kinda new to the DL boards, but not to the DIS boards (I usually cruise the WDW boards planning trips - it's a lot harder to plan a trip all the way in Florida than to someplace within driving distance!).

My husband and I got engaged at DL in January 2005, and spent our honeymoon at WDW in June 2005. We are both 36 years old, no kids. Well...when it comes to Disney, we ARE the kids!

We go to DL about once or twice a year; our next trip will be December 11th. This will be my first time ever going during the holidays!! :hyper:

I've never met any other DIS'ers...do they also carry the alien green Mickey paint chips at DL?? Hope to spot one someday!

Here's me and DH last February at our special spot next to the castle...this is where he proposed!! :lovestruc

I'm a newbie to the DL board, because althought I live in southern california, I had been planning our first trip to WDW. Now I am going to DL with my 4 friends for my 18th birthday.

Hello all! :wave2: I am 32 yo and I have been married to my wonderful DH :lovestruc for 3 1/2 years, we live in STL and have no children. He was born and raised in the Anaheim area and misses it a lot! He took me to DL for the first time in 2004 and I can't get enough! I found these boards this year while doing some research for DVC after we became members in May. I have gotten an abundance of info from these boards and love to pass along any info I have. I really enjoy just browsing and reading, I am on here almost daily. popcorn::

Greetings All! I'm Rila, 25yrs old and married to my very own Aladdin, but I'll call him Al , for 2 years since this past September. We reside in Fremont, CA (Northern Cali) and hold Annual Passes. We have visited our "second home" about once each month, or at least try to. It's straining on the wallet at times because as much as we'd like to save money, every trip we go all out! We love to be die hard riders and parade/fireworks watchers, but also enjoy the simplicities of walking thru shops, eating a mickey head ice cream, or just sitting on a bench and people watching. But the flip side of it is, we love to party, and a trip isn't complete without a beer from the Wharf area in DCA and/or a shot or two from UVA :woohoo:

Hello DLR DISers. I'm Reggie and I'm 27. I'm actually surprised that I'm not the youngest one here since I've seen so many posts about people and their DS and/or DD. I live approximately 55 miles away from DL, but didn't go for a long time until my girlfriend and I finally became APers for the first time this year on July 4. Before July 4, the last time I was at DL was before they had Fantasmic! My girlfriend and I have been Disney fans for awhile, but mainly for their movies. We didn't really get hooked until our first WDW trip last summer, which is how I actually found the DIS boards. A simple search in google for planning tips to WDW led me to this site. I maily lurked in the WDW boards for the first few months, and started exploring the rest of the boards when we returned from our trip.

We were really close to getting APs last December, but my school and her work schedule conflicted, so we kept putting it off. We finally decided to just do it, and between July 4 and the beginning of September, we went to DLR about 7-8 times. Now that school has started again, we have only been once on Oct. 1. We're going to try to make it out this Saturday night for Fantasmic! and or fireworks, since we're starting to go through Disney withdrawals.

I haven't met anyone from these boards yet, but based on trip reports and such, I know I've been at the parks the same day as a lot of you. Maybe one of these days, we should fill up the Fantasmic! dessert buffet premium seating with all DISers ;) My girlfriend and I are going to try for the balcony for the first time in December.

Hi  I'm Maureen. I'm not new to the DIS but I am new to DL BB. My DH and I have been married 16 years. We are both Disney fanatics and are raising 3 little fanatics as well.We have 3 children under 5 including twins( I wish it were 4 but it hasn't happened yet .) We have been to WDW many times and own DVC at BCV. My kids favorite game is "Where is..." and they'll name a ride and you have to name what park its in. One of my twins makes you name the specific land. They pretend the shower stall is the Tower of Terror and recite the ride speel and open the door for you. :rotfl: They also have one of those plastic Little Tykes roller coasters , which is of course Rockin Roll Roller Coaster (which none of them have been on b/c they are all too little. But they think its really cool and big boy) My oldest removed the last piece of track recently to send his brothers into orbit. When I asked what he was doing he said "Its Lights Motor Action!!" :faint:

We are taking them on a surprise trip to DL in April. They call it Walt's House. My DS recently said "You know Mom we should go to Walt's House its the original." So we booked an 8 day trip 4 nights at Disney Hotel and 4 nights concierge at Grand Californian. party: DH and I have never been either so we are soo excited we could just bust. Thanks so much for all the insight if I can ever help you with WDW just ask I love to help. Have a magical day!!!

Hi everybody! I've been on the DIS quite a while, but just started visiting the DL board about a year ago.

I grew up in a family of 4 (with 1 DB)addicted to Disney. We visited WDW for the first time when I was 6. We went a couple of times before our first visit to DL in '79. It was a 3 day weekend and it was the most magical trip. Chex cereal (I believe) had coupons for children to fly free, so we took our first flying trip out to California. We visited a few more times and took our last family vacation with just the 4 of us to DL when my brother and I were both in college.

My parents bought into DVC in '00 and DH, DD (12), and I go to WDW every other year. For the 50th, we decided to go to DL Thanksgiving week with my parents and brother. DH had to work so he couldn't go. It was my first time to DL in 8 years and we all loved it. We stayed at the GCH on the concierge level. I loved getting to see all the Christmas decorations. We especially enjoyed being able to walk between the resorts and the parks.

A luck would have it, DD's dance competition was at the DLH in June. My mom, DD, and I went for 8 days. Again we had a blast and loved seeing the new Pirates updates the week it reopened. Unfortunately, DD's dance team has decided to go elsewhere for competition this year, so who knows when we'll go back. I wouldn't hesitate to go near Thankgiving again and see all the decorations. DH is not quite the Disney addict we are, but I think he would really like DL. We'll see....

Hello,I'm darph.Er sorry,Jim. I live in Tucson Az., the grandpa of 3. I work for a local furniture company as a Loss Prevention officer. While I've been to D/L over 25 times, the rest of my family is catching up fast. Even though we lived in Calif years ago,it wasn't until the late 60s for my first trip to Anaheim. :confused3

Hopefully see some of you @ the " Happiest Place on Earth". :cool1:

I'm Mike from San Antonio, TX, and I've been visiting DL since before I was born (literally, my mom would walk through the grounds while she was still carrying me) We moved away from the Golden State when I was 11, but Disney has stayed in my blood. Sure, I've tried other theme parks and while I love wild rides, every visit makes me pine for another Disney vacation. Luck would have it that my wife and kids support my Mouse Addiction.

I am often torn while reading these boards. The idea that the parks are constantly growing and improving is indeed exciting, but I worry about losing those touches that melt my heart every time (WDW new version of the Enchanted Tiki Room is an excellent example.)

But, in all, I remain pixie dusted.
