Welcome Home!!

We stayed at OKW from May 23 - 29 & heard Welcome Home several times starting with our first time through the gate. We heard it every time we came "home," when we checked in at the front desk, from several bellman outside, etc.

We were waiting near the bell desk for my sister & niece to arrive on the shuttle from the airport. When they got off the bus, a bellman said, "Welcome Home!" to them. My niece was funny. She asked why he said welcome home since she was not at home, she was on vacation. I explained to her that it was my vacation home & she was my guest, so they wanted to be sure she was welcomed to my home !

I just got a survey request from BWV. My number 1 gripe was I didn't get a welcome home on my first trip home. I did get it when I went over to OKW to check it out and also to BCV. Funny how I was hooked on the "Welcome Home", lot af sales hype.
But I still feel as though I am going home when we go down there. Regards, Rich

forgot to mention ... we stopped by the Beach Club to eat & had a guest service question. when the CM pulled out a drawer to look up the phone number, there in LARGE letters were the words WELCOME HOME. Guess they don't want BCV CMs to forget those magical words !

I remember my first DVC stay, it was at OKW. I drove up to the gate waiting for my first big welcome home! The guard waived us through (the old days May 2000). I stopped and said "checking in" he said "enjoy"! The same thing happened the second trip in 2001. Finally last year we got our welcome home at the gate. Now this year (last month), we got it about 10 times! Almost everytime we went through the gate we got a "welcome home" from the guard, especially one female guard (brunette, who always seemed to be there!). I don't think we ever got it from the guard at Boardwalk. We always get it at the front desk.
