Welcome Home Wednesdays

It's a get together put on by the DVD Marketing department. They give you some token free stuff and play a game. The idea is to get you to buy more points.

If you have never been, I would go if you have nothing else to do. The hours recently changed to earlier in the day so check before you go.

It's cute...they pick people out of the crowd to play a game and everyone gets a snack. At the end they give us each a nice DVC baseball hat. My kids really enjoyed it.

We went last year and there was a pretty good turn out. We all think Deevy See is a riot. It's one of those things to do if you have no real plans. We wanted to check out BWV anyway, since it's in the same neighborhood. Was ok but likely won't do it again.

We really enjoy it, but I guess we'd enjoy anything that involves Disney giving us free poopcorn, lemonade, and prizes! I got to be a contestant in the game show a couple years ago and I got a big DVC umbrella. They give out a few pins and everybody gets a gift when they leave. We've gotten baseball caps, calendars, and reusable shopping bags.

Glad I saw this thread. DH & I are new and have SSR reserved in October, was just discussing tonight whether or not we should do the Wednesday thing. Sounds fun!

We try and go every time we are there. We really get a kick out of it. At one of the Welcome Home Wednesday's we went to, I won a tandem parasailing trip. We used it last November. Well, I didn't go, but my DH did as a single and he loved it.

I prefer the BLT Member get together. Maybe because it's not so corny, and DH won the $100 gift certificate. The snacks were better tasting to me, and we got to see BLT again.

You have to sign up for the BLT, so it's limited in number of people, but you got a pin that's very nice, everyone got one and I think the other "freebies" were nicer at that meeting. We went once, but I understand people have gone more than once, but if I only could make time for one, it's the BLT meeting that I would get to.

Honestly, I thought it was a waste of time. I didn't get any new info out of the get together. It was a thing to do when you ran out of stuff to do really.

Is the BLT one still going on? We did it last year (it was worth it just for the fast passes). Although, I think DH might be more reluctant, since he wound up adding on more points that day. He is much easier to persuade when he is in his "happy place":rotfl:

There was a question here about the BLT meeting recently, and the answer was "Yes." We don't go to WDW until June, but I will ask when we get there.

Where do you find out more info on the BLT one? Do you have to ask when you get there?

I imagine MS would know if you called. You have to book with one of the DVC information people. We were staying at SSR when we went to the meeting, and we made arrangements with the person who had a DVC booth in the main building at SSR.

We finally got to WHW and had a ball. We even ended up winning a parasailling session (they also gve away some nice photo packages too).

We plan on going again.
