Welcome Home Wednesdays

I am planning THV trip with in-laws, a total of 9 people. (Yes, I am crazy, but that is not for this thread.) DW and I and our dds (8,6) are DVC members, and I have read where we can take another non-member with us for Welcome Home Wed., but can we take 5 non members (3 adults, 2 children). And, will all of them get hats or whatever freebie of the day?

We love Welcome Home Wednesdays!! It's one of our favorite things to do while at Boardwalk...

You can bring in that many guests! We brought our 2 adult children and their families in (a total of 7 people) and they do all receive a DVC gift on the way out.

Thanks for the info. We like Welcome Home Wed as well, although I have named it Snack Attack, as it is less syllables. My BIL and his family have NEVER been to Disney. So, we are happy to be able to do a THV so they go. Plus, we are planning to do the MNSSHP Tuesday night, and that would be a great to include on Wednesday with some down time.

I'm leaving Tuesday for our first DVC trip home to BLT (i'm a nervous wreck), and forgot about the WHWs. Are they held at all DVC resorts, including BLT and at what time of day/eve are they??

WHW are held at 4:00 at Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk. They are not held at each individual DVC resort.

You get a coupon when you enter and get your "free" lemonade and cracker jacks or popcorn with it. Then, you get the "free" hat (or whatever freebie) when you leave. They are usually there before the hour ends, but just depends on what time the staff get everything unloaded. We have seen others leave a little early before it ends and get a hat.

Hmmm...we have never gone to WHW's....maybe next trip we'll try it! From your experiences is it usually packed? Is it noisy? We have an autisitic son and wonder if it would be too much for him. We will be doing an adult trip in May so maybe we should wait until then to check it out. Any info would be appreciated! TIA!!

We've been a few times. It has not been standing room crowded, but I don't remember seeing that many open seats. There are 3 levels - floor level with chairs next to each other theatre style, main area with chairs/ tables, and the balcony with chairs/ tables. It is done in a game show format, so the questions/ answers are said over a microphone with a large screen behind contestants, and when answers are right/ wrong, you get sound effects, music, and clapping.

Can you got to WHW if you're a member not staying on points? Do you just show your card at the door? I think they do it on the DCL yes (sorry, sore subject right now, I know)?

We attended the meeting last year. It was OK. You should do it once and see for yourself. We did get the nice hats. Hard to believe. Something free from DVC.
