I've been a DVC member since 2007 but have never attended a WHW. Is it something I should do with DH and DDs 9 and 4, or should I keep passing? Is this something the kids will enjoy, or are we going to feel that we're missing valuable park/pool time?
The theme is a family reunion cookout...but no one brought the hot dogs. You get a snack like cracker jacks, a piece of fruit if you want it & lemonade or water.
I went today. I told my friends that if you enjoy watching or participating in shows like "beat the clock" and having a few laughs and getting a DVC baseball cap ( not guaranteed, but likely) come with me. 2 pals came with me, and surprisingly to me, I and one friend did compete & we enjoyed the games we played, & we each got 2 pins as prizes.
They do have games for kids, the kids today seemed to enjoy themselves, and certain little ones really stole the show.
There are drawing for prizes. Today there were some $50 gift certificates, one was for Sammy Duvall water sports...something from the Richard Petty experience, and an Owners Locker membership for a year.
It was fun...

No RSVP, so to say, required? Just show up at 2 with member card?

I looking into checking this out. I think it sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
We are going down in 2 weeks on a DVC rental while we await our resale purchase to go through. Are we allowed to attend as DVC members being in a rental unit?
We haven't attended a WHW or AKL Mixer. Our friends said they really liked the AKL Sundown Mixer. I'd like to go to both. We're FL residents also so we go to WDW a lot, are we able to attend the WHW and AKL Mixer without a KTTW card? Just show our DVC member ID right?
There is a sign up for the AKL Mixer.
You can just show up for WHW.
