Welcome Home Visit question

I searched and couldn't find anything, but I thought I saw on here that if you call MS regarding your welcome home visit, they will try to accommodate you even if you are trying to get into a resort that can be difficult to get into. Specifically, I own at PVB (just got my membership info in the mail 2 days ago!) and would like to book 2 standard view studios at BWV for 4 nights next July. Obviously even finding one standard view studio at BWV is difficult, but is this something they'll try to accommodate? And does being a resale owner impact this? If not, we will be happy booking 2 studios at OKW, but BWV is preferable. What are your thoughts? Thanks everyone!

Resale doesn't get a welcome home reservation.

What is a welcome home reservation?
On a first purchase, if direct, MS can sometimes pull back some inventory to get a reservation that doesn't show availability for a first booking. They are still limited as to what they can find so it's not like they can guarantee anything you want but they can help find something.

A standard at BWV would be difficult, especially this late. They typically pull from developer inventory. Standard view cash nights typically get pool/garden.

We would be looking for next summer. I have the Marriott Bonvoy card and we'll have enough for 5 nights at the S/D, I wanted to supplement that with another 4 at BWV using my points, but it looks like OKW is more likely especially since I'm looking for 2 standard studios, not just 1.

Looking at availability this summer though, I'm pretty surprised that even at under 5 months, standard SSR and OKW are available, when looking at October there is even some spottiness at those resorts. I knew summer was one of the more available DVC times, but didn't realize to what extent until I got on and started looking.

WHen they do a Welcome Home, it's developer inventory (basically: never BWV Standard, because cash rez for BWV Studio is always Preferred), and it's not multiple units.

But never for the unclean buyers of resale. Unless, of course, they are Chuck Norris. But I bet he doesn't want Standard, because he is pretty not Standard.

I had a feeling, thank you!

Even current owners who add on direct don’t get it. It’s simply a sales incentive to finalize a sale with a new purchaser who wants to go within the next 6 months after they buy but finds there’s little availability left. So even if you’d been direct it wouldn’t have worked for next summer. You may be just fine to get BWV then as summer is a slower DVC time.

But... plan on P/G not Standard at 7 months.
