Welcome Home gift

Funny story! I went to Riviera on a reserved tour. They looked surprised when we showed up and did a fast walk through because we had Topolino reservations anyway. Guide didn’t offer us one but after dinner, a random nice lady presented us with hers while she was sitting in the library lounge. That one is on our fridge. By the end of the trip, we had two but I don’t remember where we picked up the other. That one we gave to friends staying nearby.
We got 2 magnets resale plus one more when we bought direct. Or maybe it was the other way around. And a super cool backpack which I treasure. I even dared to put a magnet on our car.

You got a magnet from DVC after buying resale?

I got one in the mail. And then two more later. Or was it the other way around. I finalized both purchases in the same month. So I assume yes!

Yeah, I love the backpack and magnets - just wanted to make sure we weren't missing something :) The lanyards actually became useful for carrying around the room key and some tipping cash since they don't use magic bands at Aulani. (and I guess soon no resort will either :( )
They are not stopping Magic Bands. They are just not free. I will continue to wear one for the photos on rides.

We didn't get a "welcome home" gift on our first stay. We did get two backpacks (one for each contract) and two of those sling packs and 2 magnets. I can't give those backpacks away. We tried using one in the parks and it didn't work for us.

We did get icecream on our tour before we bought and fastpasses :) (I think a $75 GC per person also).

My "can't keep the pen" purchase was 2009. My 1st direct was 2008. My little box of goodies from a resale broker was a surprise though. Very nice surprise and kind of ironic in comparison.
Which broker is this? I have two in ROFR with two different brokers curious if it’s one I’m using.

Back in the day when I signed my VGC contracts at DL my guide wouldn't even let me keep the pen I signed with!

ie - no, no magic password or great gift that you missed out on.

aww.....somebody mentioned inconsistency. We were given our pens as a boxed set - metal twist style - but we purchased in 2000.

And, I did a quick check on Ebay to see if I could find one like it, but no go. Saw a lot of plastic ones though, mostly DCL.

I did see the DVC magic band slider - at $55. Looked at little further and found many in the $50 each range or a little less if you buy 3.

I've got a few of them still in the package. Plus the passholder sliders. That shocked me - little piece of rubber....

We got dinner for 5 at Spoodles (now Trattoria Al Forno) after our tour. We also got 1/2 our paid stay applied to the cost of our membership, and a DVC bag with the docs in it.

Now that would have been an idea. Sell the DVC and Passholder sliders I have and buy the DVC pen set!

Who knew people would truly to sell. I threw ours away a few year back!! Lol

I bought resale and bough the magnet for $6 -- and I got the Blue Card discount.

The magnet isn't for sale anymore though...

We have accumulated contracts through the years in a mixture of direct and resale. Can't say I remember a broker giving us a gift for a resale purchase. However, have received quite a bit of DVC swag from direct. Off the top of my head . . . . Tote bag (nice), back back (less nice), lanyard, lithograph, light snacks, ice cream (preview center - SSR), magnets. I will say, we were given several really nice DVC ball caps in Aulani two years ago. Have never seen them before or since and have had questions form other members about how to obtain.
