Welcome Gift

Anyone ever order a welcome gifts...if so from whom and how?

I am letting a friend use my points at AKV for her first trip to WDW with her kids. She is a single mom and has been saving for many years to make this happen.

I was thinking of ordering something for the room to be there when she arrives.

Can this be dine and any suggestions?

The crew is her and DS 12 and DD 14.

We ordered a gift basket for my Father (his 1st trip) from Memories by Betsy (changed hands a while ago and Betsy took over).

The communication was great - she picked the things we requested and stayed within budget, the basket was there at SSR when we checked in and addressed to my Father from Mickey.

He still thinks it was some sort of surprise gift from Mickey and Disney, reasoning they must have known from the reservation it was his 1st trip or something. We will keep it that way - too magical to tell him that we actually organised it!!

I have used the Disney florist also. I suprised my sister's family with gifts. Worked great!!!

Last year the man I was with sent me roses and they were on the table when we returned from the park one day!!! They were beautiful and survived the trip home in December.

I would definitely recommend them.

I used Disneyflorist.com last year for a surprise for my Dsis. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Make sure if you want it placed in the room, you put that in the comments when placing the order, otherwise they will give it to you a reception.

AKV also offers special amneties from room-service. I know they have one with animal shaped cookies. You can call the resort directly and arrange it.
