Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

Quick update before I do responses-
1. I did make an ADR at Via Napoli for Friday night, but it's at 7, that was the earliest they had available! But, since that didn't conflict with my Rose and Crown ADR, I can still keep that for now, and then decide what to do! I'd like to eat at VN a little earlier if I can, so we could do some attractions after we eat, however, a 7:00 ADR would be perfect to eat and then be ready for Illuminations...so maybe I'll will keep it like that!

2. Has everyone seen the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie! If not, GO!!! NOW!!! It's SO good! I loved every second of it...the beginning is great, the mermaids are so beautiful, and I love all the new characters...plus, the focus is all on Jack now, which is nice! I want to see it again already!

popcorn:: joining in popcorn::

Yay, :welcome:, thanks for joining, glad to have you here!

Good for you starting the C25K program!!! I should really look into doing something like that over the summer.

As for ADRs, I say go for T-Rex! I think that place looks really fun. :)

Thanks! I'm kind of stuck trying to figure out what to do for the next 8 weeks, I was using my sister's treadmill to do the first week while she was in Disney, but she's home today, so hopefully she'll let me use it still...if not, I'll either be running outside or just giving up! :confused3

Comments in RED.

Ugh, I hate how you can't quote a quote! :rotfl:

I'm definitely going to do GFC one day, just still not sure which day! I'd hate to do it Wed. or Thursday, our only mornings where we can sleep, but I don't know where else to put it...I'll figure out a place!

I'm ok with waiting til our next trip to try AP! I wish there was somewhere we could fit it in, but there's just not!

Hmmm, I'm not sure when we will be getting to AK, but I don't think I could do Y&Y and TRex in one day! Still not sure what I'll do here...actually, I should probably check to see if Y&Y is even available that day, I'm just assuming it is, but it might be booked!

Do what works.
If you know you will get annoyed driving to DTD, then just do Y&Y, then you can go back to WL after you are finished at AK and relax for a bit. Being annoyed is no fun!
Remember:: There is ALWAYS next trip!

Well, I always get annoyed driving to DTD, that area makes me crazy! But that's just me, it's not leaving a park that would bother me! I still can't decide what to do. :confused3 I'll have to ask Brandon about this one, I'm sure he won't care, but it would be nice to see what he thinks!

I added my thoughts in purple. I hope they help! :)

Thanks! Like I said above, not sure how I'm going to continue the program unless I find access to a treadmill, or this horrible rain clears up and I can run outside, but I really love this program...the first week anyway! I hope I can finish it! :yay:

You're going to love Boma for breakfast, it's so yummy!

I will most likely keep CP for our MK day and add GFC another morning...not sure which morning, but I can always do that before any park, really!

I have a feeling AP might be better than the Brown Derby, but BD just makes more sense that night! It would be nice to eat at AP since we will already be at WL, but if I can't, I can't! Gives me a reason to visit WL on my next trip! :laughing:w

I really want to try TRex...I think Y&Y looks good, and I always hear great things about it, but TRex looks so fun! :woohoo: *Sigh* Really have no clue what to do about this one!

Awesome to hear you are doing the C25k!! I did something similar to get started and I just got home today from doing a half marathon :thumbsup2 I never ran or jogged or really worked out much before I started that either...so it has its tough moments but its all worth it!!:goodvibes

DBF votes to cancel Trex and eat at Yak and Yeti...At Trex he says the atmosphere was fun, the food was ok, but it was food you could get at any local TGIFridays :confused3 Maybe you guys could go have a drink or appetizer at Trex to get your fix at some point :goodvibes

Thanks! I can't believe you didn't run before you started training for your marathons! :scared1: That's good to know, because I really want to do the 1/2 Princess next year...but right now, even a 5K seems impossible!

I really don't know what to do about TRex and Y&Y! I'm thinking of just flipping a coin!

I vote for Yak & Yeti. Too much of a pain to leave for DTD.

I like Brown Derby, but it's not Artist point, that's for sure. Too bad you can't fit it in.

Cape May Cafe - have you had breakfast there?????

CFC looks nice. Never been.

I just don't know - too many choices!

Thanks! Yak and Yeti does sound good, but TRex just looks so cool! :rotfl:

I'm sure Brown Derby is not as good as AP, but it was just something that fit in a little better than Tony's! I think it looks so fun inside too, so old Hollywood, I love that! :thumbsup2

Nope, never had breakfast at Cape May, just dinner...is it good?

GFC looks so pretty, I just need to figure out which morning to add it!

LOL...now you know why I'm so stressed over these ADR's!

I look forward to seeing the changes aswell!!

LOL, me too, and I'm the one doing all the changes! :rotfl:

Congrats on the C25K and a 2 lb loss! I often wish I was a runner because everyone that I know that does run is so thin! I think it's one of the best activities to do when trying to lose weight. :thumbsup2

My thoughts on your ADRs are below!

Thanks! I always wished I could run, just put on some sneakers and go out for a run, it seems so therapeutic...and it's a good way to drop some weight! I hope I make it through the whole thing, seems like it will be pretty hard!

I'm so excited for HBD, my first signature restaurant! :cool1: I'm sure it will be much better than Tony's, Tony's is good, but I don't need to do it again so soon!

I love Boma! I can't imagine not going there before AK, I don't know what I was thinking scheduling it for Thursday originally, and not our AK day! :lmao:

I'm hoping to have a few free mornings where we don't have to jump up and run out the door, which is why I'm hesitant to make an ADR for GFC on one of our free mornings! I might just try to squeeze it in before a park...maybe Epcot on our 2nd day, since we don't really have to make it to rope drop that morning! :confused3

It does make a lot of sense to do Yak and Yeti, but I'm so stuck on going to TRex this trip!!! Maybe I'll just wait til that day to decide, see how we feel!

I think saving AP for another trip makes sense. It might be nice on a later trip to have a good reason to visit WL.

I think Yak & Yeti makes more sense than T-Rex. I haven't eaten at either, but location-wise, going to from AK to DD might be kind of annoying, at the time.

Brown Derby sounds great! I want to go there someday, as soon as the boys are big enough that we won't be a spectacle.

I would cancel either Via Napoli or Rose & Crown, in favor of snacking at the F&W Festival. If you can believe what you read on the internet, there will be lots of great foods to try.

It's annoying that I can't fit in AP when we are staying at WL, but it does make me happy to know I will get to go back and visit on our next trip!

I'm so excited for the Brown Derby! I love DHS, and I think this will make it even more fun that night!

I think I'm going to cancel VN on Tuesday to snack and Food and Wine. One of the reasons we are going in October is to do Food and Wine stuff, so we might as well take advantage of it! There are SO many different things to try, and eating one thing from 2 or 3 booths is really filling! We didn't get to sample very much on our last trip, since we only had 2 days there, and Saturday was so crowded, but what we did try was awesome! I hope they have that baked ravioli at the Italy booth again! :)

Congrats on starting the running program! That sounds like a great way to get in shape- and what an accomplishment to be able to run 5K at the end!

So your ADR troubles... my head is spinning! The only real advice I have is to remember that you can't fit them all in, and there is always next time! Good luck!

Thanks! I hope I can finish it...I don't see how I will be able to make myself run that long in such a short time (9 weeks???) but we'll see! It will be nice to be in shape for once in my life!

LOL, my head is spinning with my ADR drama too! I can't wait to put it behind me! I think I should have it all figured out soon! :yay:

I hope to see POTC 4 this coming weekend... my sister will be coming home for the weekend, and I think we'll take our mom to see it. Mom is a HUGE fan of the POTC movies!

Yay, I hope you get to go, it's SO good!

Just a small change...

Hi everyone!

Well, if you've been following my ADR drama, you know I really wanted to try Artist Point on this trip, and pretty much had given up trying to figure out a place to fit it in. I was fine with waiting until our next trip to go there, really I was.

Then I read my lovely friend Joni's (therussells08) trip report update last night, where she had a fantastic review of the dinner she and her DH had there this past December, and it was all over. I knew I needed to find a way to fit this restaurant in, on this trip.

I pulled out the Disney folder and studied my itinerary, and just couldn't figure out a time. Once again, I felt like this was not meant to be, and I gave up.

Then this morning driving to work, I came up with a solution. A pretty brilliant, yet SIMPLE solution, one that was so simple, I can't believe it took this long to figure out. :rolleyes1

So I was texting Brandon from work, asking him if he wanted to go there, and he said no, he wanted to go to the Brown Derby. There was no way we could do 2 signatures in one trip, so I told him to just go look at the menu and decide...after he looked at the menu, he was sold, he told me to cancel the Brown Derby and book Artist Point! :dance3:

Originally, our first full Disney day, October 1, we were going to go to Epcot in the morning, take a break, and go to DHS til closing, or whenever we finished dinner at Brown Derby. Then we would go over to MK to see Wishes.

Now, we will still be going to Epcot in the morning, but instead of taking a break, then going to DHS, we will just go directly there! Once we do everything we want to do, we will go back to the WL, rest, shower, get changed, and then go to Artist Point for dinner (I forgot what time I made it for, sometime around 6ish!) That will give us plenty of time to enjoy our dinner and then get to MK for Wishes!

Gonna be a busy day, but definitely a fun one! Can't wait for October!! :woohoo:

Really good plan! :thumbsup2

That's what great about staying at a resort with yummy restaurants- makes getting to dinner convenient!

Yay for the change!!!! We loved Artist Point when we went a few years ago. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The soup was to die for and the color looked awful but the taste was out of this world. If you like salmon, GET IT!!! It's the best salmon we've ever had. A few places in the area come close but nothing has beat it yet!

When we went, we were staying at WL and had a 5:30pm ADR when they first opened so the restaurant wasn't filled at all and I think that helped with the great service. By the time we left it was starting to fill up!

You made a great choice..way to pull out those menus!!!!!! I know for some it doesn't matter but when you are using 2 credits and paying a ton of $$ you want to make sure there is something on there for you to eat!!

Yay! I'm so glad you were able to work AP into the schedule! I too have had my interest sparked by Joni's review! I'm off to look at the menu a little more closely now. I might end up squeezing it into our itinerary, too. :thumbsup2

Glad you were able to get Artist Point in. We've never eaten there but I don't think I've ever read a bad review. And I think I posted on your dining post that we were not fans of Brown Derby at all, and it definitely it is not worth two credits.

YAY! You mentioned me in your PTR and I influenced an ADR choice! :woohoo: I'm so proud! I'm really glad you're trying AP...I think you're going to love it! :thumbsup2 You asked me on my TR how long it takes to eat there but I haven't answered the comment yet. I would say it probably took about an hour and a half, and we really took our time and relaxed!

You've got my head spinning with all your ADR changes! :lmao:

Congrats on finding a way to squeeze in Artist Point. Sounds yummy. I'll have to be sure to try that one on a future trip. The mushroom soup makes my mouth water!

Joining in to your PTR!! (a bit late, I know!)

Sounds like you guys have an awesome plan - I'm definitely going to put my vote in for you to try GFC for breakfast, it's great there (the Steak and Eggs, in particular!). I really want to try Artist Point too, we're going to see if we can make it there in the future. :goodvibes

:woohoo: on changing your ADR to Artist Point!! I'm glad Brandon agreed to the change. I loved Joni's review and can't wait to eat here in September!

How great that you do not have to go far to eat here as well! :yay:

YAY
I am SO excited for you that you were able to fit it in!!! :woohoo:

LOVE AP!!! Glad that you worked it out :)

What sold Brandon on the menu? The Buffalo? Tell him it is AMAZING!:thumbsup2

:) EEEE!!!! :)

You will LOVE AP! :cool1:

So glad to hear you guys found time and agreed on Artist Point...I think you guys will enjoy it :goodvibes

I LOVED the new pirates movie too and I was not that excited about seeing another Pirates movie ( didnt like the second and third ones), this one was really good though!!

Really good plan! :thumbsup2

That's what great about staying at a resort with yummy restaurants- makes getting to dinner convenient!

Thanks!

Once I changed our resort to WL, I started obsessing about Artist Point...I almost gave up, it seemed like it was just impossible to fit it in on this trip! :rotfl:

Yay for the change!!!! We loved Artist Point when we went a few years ago. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. The soup was to die for and the color looked awful but the taste was out of this world. If you like salmon, GET IT!!! It's the best salmon we've ever had. I don't think I have seen a bad review of AP yet! Seems like everyone who has been there has loved it!

I do like salmon, but I think I already know what I want, what Joni had, that steak! It looks SOOOO good!

LOL, I obsessively study those menus! I know what I want from pretty much everywhere we are eating already, and I still have over 4 months to go! :rotfl: I'm not sure if we are going to use the Dining plan for this, we might just pay OOP, because I'm sure we will want appetizers, and we might share a dessert, or not even want it at all, so I'd hate to waste 2 credits and not even get dessert! I'll have to do the math and see what makes more sense!

Yay! I'm so glad you were able to work AP into the schedule! I too have had my interest sparked by Joni's review! I'm off to look at the menu a little more closely now. I might end up squeezing it into our itinerary, too. :thumbsup2

I am too! Did you decide what signature to add to your trip, I haven't checked your PTR yet to see if you made a decision! Didn't Joni have an amazing review of AP? :thumbsup2 I think I'm going to really enjoy it, I'm so excited! :woohoo:

Glad you were able to get Artist Point in. We've never eaten there but I don't think I've ever read a bad review. And I think I posted on your dining post that we were not fans of Brown Derby at all, and it definitely it is not worth two credits.

Thanks! I don't think I've heard anything bad about AP either! I still would like to try Brown Derby someday, it seems like a lot of people really like it, but I think AP will be better! And it will be fun to eat at our resort! :woohoo:

LOL, I think I've mentioned you a few times in my various PTR's/TR's! You definitely made me decide that I HAD to go to AP on this trip, no matter what I had to shuffle around, and it worked out! Pretty easily, too! :yay:

An hour and half sounds reasonable, as long as we are finished eating a little before 8 I'll be happy, so we can hop on the boat and get over to MK for Wishes! I can't wait!!! :dance3:

Glad you could get AP worked in, I know how much you wanted that one!

Thanks! I'm glad too, I can't wait to eat there!

I'm glad you got to get AP in there :)

Thanks, me too! It looks soooo good! :cool1:

You've got my head spinning with all your ADR changes! :lmao:

Congrats on finding a way to squeeze in Artist Point. Sounds yummy. I'll have to be sure to try that one on a future trip. The mushroom soup makes my mouth water!

LOL, I know, I have a problem with ADR changes! This should be it for a while, no more ADR updates in the near future! :rotfl:

I can't wait to eat at AP! I'm not a big mushroom fan, but Brandon is, I'm sure he will be getting a bowl of that! He could live off mushrooms!

:goodvibes

:welcome: thanks for joining! And don't worry, you're definitely not late, I have over 4 more months to go, waiting for this trip to get here! :rotfl:

I'm definitely adding in GFC for breakfast, thanks to your review of it! If I didn't stumble upon your TR and dining reviews when I was bored at work one day, I would have never even considered GFC, and now I can't wait to go there! I just have to figure out which day to add it! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on changing your ADR to Artist Point!! I'm glad Brandon agreed to the change. I loved Joni's review and can't wait to eat here in September!

How great that you do not have to go far to eat here as well! :yay:

I'm glad Brandon agreed too, I thought at first he was going to push for Brown Derby, but I think once he saw the menu, he decided it was his kind of restaurant! :rotfl2: He said he wanted to eat there when we stayed in WL 2 years ago, but for some reason we didn't, so now he's so excited to eat there too!

I'm so glad you will be going to AP too, can't wait to hear what you thought of it!
