Sounds good to me! I think we may do 3-5 Disney dollars instead of the pin, though. I like the pin idea, some of our guests: probably not so much :sad2:

ETA: I don't know about your guests, but many of mine have limited Disney knowledge. I saw that you are putting an itinerary in your welcome folder. You may want to let them know that they may not be able to join you for meals, etc. without an ADR (if you were including that kind of info). I know that my guests would be unaware of this, and it could cause some hurt feeling. :)

I'm trying to think of different things to put in a welcome folder also! Maybe you could put some fun Disney facts and info about transportation and fast passes since they may not know much about Disney. I've also heard of people putting hand-written thank you or welcome notes in each folder. If this might give you severe carpal tunnel with how many you'll need, it'd probably be best to skip this one. ;)

You could even put together a sheet of the "bride and groom's" recommended stops/must-see places. You can mix restaurants, attractions, rides, etc. This is really good for those taking a vacation at the same time and don't know much about Disney.

HTH!!

I saw my name and knew I had to reply ;)

We also included:
1. press penny guide for the guests with kids (including some shiny pennies),
2. two post cards with stamps,
3. invitations for the tea and welcome party (depending on the guest's plans),
4. crossword puzzle that I made custom to us,
5. printed out contact card (business card size) with all the contacts for the wedding day- believe me this was great so people didn't call me with all of their questions!
6. a guide with our tips for all the parks

I really like the idea of a hand written thank you notes. Also, the contact card Vanessa suggested. I'm actually not even giving many of our guests my number. Only my e-mail because I didn't want to be plagued with calls.

:woohoo: I'm glad I posted this! I'm getting some GREAT ideas!!!

V - where'd you get a penny press guide?? :worship:

I wrote a little poem (got the idea from the surprise DFTW thread):

Now listen up folks, for I have a short tale
But not of a Queen, or of Dorothy Gale
This journey begins in a land far away
Before all the planning, the trip, the bouquet…

Once upon a time, in riverside house,
Our little prince dreamt of a black and white mouse
So twice every year, he would journey afar
Fueling his love with an elevator car ...

Our princess, she too, with her heart in her hands,
had dreamt of her prince and had scoured the lands
Her mother once told her, as mother’s they should,
That one day her searching would be understood…

After decades of searching, they finally meet
While he’s playing a gig at a bar on Main Street.
Funny how, looking back, it all lead to today –
In a whole different World, on Main Street USA ...

Some will speculate now, how their destiny’s plot
Was to join their two stories by tying the knot.
So join them and celebrate, with tears or laughter,
Whose next tale begins “Happily Ever After…”

I LOVE all the ideas so far!! I'm doing welcome folders. putting in the following:

  • pressed penny info (since im such a pressed penny nut!)
  • hidden mickey info (since we both love hidden mickeys)
  • 1 Mickey head disney dollar in envelope
  • CD with our fave disney songs and a cute label i printed out
  • newsletter w/ schedule of events, why we're getting married at disney, etc
  • our favorite places/park tips
  • maps for all of the parks

i love your ideas too!!! :thumbsup2

:cheer2: I LOVE that poem!!! :cheer2: It's fabulous!!! I write poems on occasion and was thinking of incorporating one some how into the wedding festivities but yours takes the cake! (No pun intended ;) )

For you ladies who posted pics of your welcome folders. How did you get a hold of the park brochures ahead of time? Did you order them from Disney, AAA? If so what number should I call... Thanks! :lovestruc

I actually grabbed them up at the resort from the front desk when we stayed there a few months ago. Lady thought I was a little crazy asking for 30, but then I explained and she thought it was cool. LoL You could probably call the WDW main line and find out if they can ship some. :)

Thanks so much! And the main number would be... reservations? I'm not that knowledgable yet... :sad2:

I believe it's (407) WDisney but there may be a toll free number out there that I don't know.

If you have a good color printer, you can print them right from disney.com -- or do a google search and they will come up.

thanks for the compliments on the poem -- its a little cheesy, but I thought it would be a cute way to start the week. :lovestruc

Hey PA -- where did you find a template for those great hotel door signs??

:goodvibes I made them and printed them out in word then they are attached to a plain plastic door hanger from staples..... then I added the glitter and crystals :goodvibes
