Hi everyone. I was wondering if you guys mind giving me your opinion on something. I was thinking of holding a welcome breakfast at like Chef Mickey's the day after everyone arrives. However I wanted it to be like a non obligatory gathering and people would pay for themselves. I'm not sure if this would be rude, or if people would feel obligated to come. IDK any suggestions or feedback is appreciated. Thnx! :flower3:

LOVE Chef Mickey's!!!! :goodvibes

I say do it! It's not rude at all...Just makes sure to include something like:

The bride and groom are having breakfast at Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort. We would love it if you met up with us at this unique character buffet.

To make reservations, book online or call (407) WDW-DINE or (407) 939-3463 up to 180 days prior to your visit. The buffet is approximately $15 to $35.99 per person.

Awesome idea! Hmm I could probably send that with the invites.

It's a fine idea, set it up through group reservations and have people be able to add their names to the reservation if they want. We are doing something similar to that and most of our guests are joining us and have not complained about paying for their own meals.Everyone just seems to be happy to all be together and happy for us.

We are doing things the other way round and having a hosted 'morning after brunch' at Fresh at the Dolphin and an optional get together dinner at Turf Club Grill. I made it obvious in my latest newsletter that this dinner was not hosted but optional and gave approximate costs. Nobody at all has objected and all our guests have said they will join us!! I say go for it!!

We had a farewell breakfast at Ohana's. I sent out a newsletter about all of our group meals and how they were optional. I wrote something like, The bride and groom would love to be able to pay for you all, but unfortunately starting a new life together is expensive. I just wanted to let them know right up front that we would not be able to cover the group meals. No one had a problem with it.

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to hear it's not really rude. When I was talking to DF about it he said they might feel obligated or that it might be rude to not pay for them. If i do my newsletter and give them prices and how to make reservations they should get the hint. Hopefully. :lmao:

I don't think you need to hint - just make it clear that it is optional and whilst you would love them to join you, you understand if they can't. I sent out a reply card with my latest newsletter, along with menus and prices for our chosen restaurants and said that if guests wished to join us I would book altogether. This gives us more chance of all being sat together than if everybody booked seperately. Everybody is joining us for everything, and I have had not negative feedback whatsoever!!!
