What is or has anyone done for thier welcome baskets (included in them or decorated)?? And how does delivery for that work? I think this may have been asked before, sorry if its a repeat?!!

I am doing nice baskets for the parents and bridal party. Other than that, I am doing 1 per room, and probably in a gift bag b/c they fold better for travel. Unless I can find baskets on sale pretty cheap.

Hey!

We got baskets off E-Bay for about $1.00/piece. They have a snowman scene on them with red and blue gingham ribbon on the top. My mom lives if Florida about two hours away, so for us, the baskets are realistically able to be transported. Keep that in mind....

We felt we needed to make the choice between food items or bath and beauty items to go in them. Can't really have food in there with soap, you know? We're purchasing the following in bulk from Sam's Club to put them together. We're guaging their size based on the number of guests per room.

-Bags of chips, pretzels, and other snack items
-Bottles of water
-Florida orange
-Apple
-Small bag of coffee
-Biscottis
-Chocolate- the coconut alligator things that say Florida
-Mini champagne bottles
-Candy canes and ribbon candy (we're in late December)
-Nuts
-Cookies
-Stamped Disney post card
-Park maps
-Information regarding the wedding (ie: Motor coach schedule, etc.)

We're shrink wrapping them (Dollar store) and putting a gingham bow to match the color gingham on the basket.

On the outter tag, you've got to include the Guests' name, Hotel, Date of arrival, and reservation number. We're delivering them on the 24th for early arrivals and 26th for later arrivals (wedding is the 29th). From my understanding, they key it into the guests' reservation that there is something in the back for them. You have to tell them they're for a wedding though. Our EM said they won't do it otherwise.

Hope that helps!
xoxo

I didn't use welcome baskets for my vow renewal, but did use them for a dinner party that my family held earlier in the year at the Grand Floridian. The Disney Event Manager for my party put together picnic baskets that were filled with munchies, beverages, and even a gingham-checked tablecloth. Disney delivered the baskets to my guests' resort rooms. It worked out beautifully.

Here are two images of the picnic basket that one of my guests pulled from some video footage (she forgot to take a photo for me):

I should note that my Event Manager even designed a darling dinner invitation that was placed inside each of the baskets before they were delivered: Dinner Invitation.

Disney can do some amazing things if you want them to.
