I have a question about Welcome baskets. I'm trying to get a lot of the little things right now so that I can start to deal with some of the bigger stuff when I have a break. Adam and I are conbsidering Welcome Baskets. If we were to choose to put together some, how much do you think each Welcome Basket should generally add up to? I know it all depends on our budget, but we have room for this kind of stuff.

We are in the same boat, and still trying to come up with ideas.

So far, I think we are going to be at about $ 20 - 25 dollars each, we are going to do a personalized mini champage, Water Bottles, Necessities Package (chapstick, sunscreen, aspirin, bandaids, etc.) , Crossword Puzzle and Word Search based on Val and Dan, aka Indy Bride, Disney Pen to complete puzzle, Hidden Mickey info, and we are still scouring for little fun things. Not sure yet if they will have a pin or not.

I'm starting to think, in order to keep the price down, I'll do welcome "folders" with lots of WDW info, a newsletter/welcome sheet, scavenger hunt, hidden mickey info, etc. Maybe some stickers or something. That should keep the cost down. We are also doing goody bags for the kids at the reception. So far I've gotten mickey stickers, mickey stamps, mickey coloring books w/ crayons. (all on ebay!)

We are planning on the water bottles, sun screen, park maps, snacks, and lanyards with a pin (we are going to ask our guests their fav Disney movie, and get them a matching pin). That's all we have so far :)

You can find alot of ideas off of ebay. We found personalized water bottle stickers and personalized gum for very reasonable prices. Just buy a little at a time and you will be surprised how quick it fills the bag! We also found a website that sold 12 packs of assorted wedding tissues, they were soooo cute. We also got sticky mickey post-its and small mickey gel pens at the dollar bin at Target, Good Luck....:goodvibes

Some good ideas so far, I agree with getting a little at a time, too! Did you make one bag per hotel room or per guest?

Can you share the website with the wedding tissues?? Also, where can we get Disney park maps?

we got the park maps when we were in disney for our planning session, from the hotel we stayed at.

A good place to look is the $ stores. I found some 25 peice puzzles for kids there were some pens and pencils, erasers. I even saw some straws. I was looking for some sort of note pad or post its. Just keeping your eyes out for fun things. Also, they don't all have to have the same things. It can get out of control though if you aren't able to stop yourself.

Hi all! This is actually my first official post! I, too, want to have welcome bags for each room and I found that Oriental Trading (orientaltrading.com) is a great place for bulk stuff, especially for kids. HTH!

I second --- I love Oriental Trading -- got personalized pens for our welcome bags for a great price...

We are also doing one bag per guest room, we have over 100 guests and one for guest would be insane!!!! :scared1:

One thing that we are doing that I thought was different -- is I am including a copy of the Grimm's version of Sleeping Beauty (since I am an English teacher, and it is my favorite story ) I figured I would inlighten people idea of fairy tales..

We're going to do one per room. We're just planning on having way too many guests, and making baskets for everyone would just cost a FORTUNE!!!!!!!!!!!

We Did Water Bottles, Gum, 2 Different Kinds Of Granola Bars, Wedding Dinner Mints (individually Wrapped Usually A Bag Of 100 Is $5) Mickey Pencils And Mickey Post Its (target Dollar Aisle) A Welcome Letter/packet, With Bus Info, Fun Facts About Disney, And Other Misc. Info, A Restaurant Menu For The Whispering Canyon For Our Guests Staying Wilderness Lodge, A Map Of Disney With The 3 Hotels And Wedding Pavillion Hilighted, Mini Chocolate Candy Assorted.
From What I Learned On Here Don't Go Over Board Cause Some People Never Even Look At The Bags, And Alot Of Stuff Gets Left Or Thrown Out.

I am planning on one per family(basically one per room).... here is what I have planned currently.....
