I know we have gone through this before. I was wondering if anyone had any new ideas for welcome bags. Acouple of things I have already are water bottles, candy, tea all of this will be in a backpack which can be used in the parks. I am trying to fill the bags with useful disney and hotel survival. Any other ideas????????????? :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Have you considered ponchos for rainy days? What about Disney Dollars?

We also included maps of the parks, and recommended dining establishments as well as disposable cameras, sparking cider, and a few other things that slip my mind.

Will Disney allow you to bring in your own welcome bags? Will they distribute them to the rooms your guests are staying in??

disney will deliver them for a small fee. We feel at this time we can deliver them ourselves. They do also offer there own bags. I thought this way we would put a personal touch on them.

We are creating welcome baskets for our guests. We are including a welcome letter with an itenirary for the "festivities", water bottles, maps of the parks, a t-shirt with our names and date for each guest, and some personalized candy bars and mint tins. We are also trying to find a few other little items, but these are the mains....

We did mostly Disney survival items too. $1 store poncho, water bottle, sewing kit, sunscreen, anti bac wipes, advil, cool wrap neckbands, bandaids (princesses of course), deck of cards, magnetic travel games, hershey kisses, pen, foot rub/soak, candy, coin purse (to hold park tickets, room keys, etc...), paper fan, disposable camera, park info booklet, aloe lotion, I'm sure I'm missing an item or two but this gives you an idea. I got most of my stuff from www.orientaltrading.com, the other site I used was http://minimus.biz they have all travel sized stuff.

We handed out our gift bags our selves except for 2 we left one at the Pop front desk, and one at the POFQ front desk, neither required a fee, and both were recieved at check-in with no problems. You just have to have the name and reservation number marked on them.

Hope this helps.

Any idea what the "small fee" is to deliver the bags to your guests rooms??? I would love to make the bags ourselves and have disney deliver them!

Just wondering what type of bag you used? Was it a regular tote bag or back pack? Did you personalize it with your wedding info or your names? That would probably be nice but I would also like to use a bag that someone might be able to use again. It would be great if anyone had a picture they could post.

Thanks,
Linda

We are going to get the flat backpacks (most of them you see are Nike or Adidas) We will have them silkscreened with our name and wedding date. Now after the wedding or if someone does not want the silkscreen to show they reverse the bag and it is plain. I hope I have explained this well I will post a picture soon.

I heard the delivery fee was at deluxe hotels, and that it was $5 per bag, but like I said we weren't charged so I don't know for sure, just what I've heard.

We used small tote style bags, I wasn't going for huge bags just something nice for everyone on arrival. I got them from oriental very cheap. Then for delivery I got plain canvas totes from walmart and traced mickey and minnie onto them, they each held 3 bags which was perfect for us. I also made special romance bags for the couples with wine, corkscrew, bottle stop, bath salts, bubble bath, and bath pillow, since one couple had just had a new baby and the other was celebrating their long overdue honeymoon.

here's the gift bag:

Hope this helps.

I have never heard of anyone doing this before me or after me, but for our wedding we had cookie cakes made at Sam's Club (about $8 each), for each family, there was about a total of 12 (we had 50 people at our wedding) that was a big hit, though we drove for our wedding I imagine it would be impossible to transport if you were to fly.

I know that we gave a few bags as pretrip gifts and included a few maps (for familiarity) from a previous trip two months earlier. The other maps we gathered the day that we arrived as the bags were distributed the following day. I believe that we got them at the hotel.

I found this welcome bag saying online:

As our wedding day draws very near
We'de like to welcome you-
we're so happy you're here!
To help get your visit started in a special way,
Here are some goodies to enjoy during your stay.
If your "tumbly gets rumbly" in the late of the night,
You'll find some cookies to make it feel right.
Some water to hydrate you if the day gets hot
And laundering needs if your shirt gets a spot.
There are other things inside-
just too many to name,
A little something so you know
that we appreciate you came.
We cannot wait to share our special day with you-
Its our hope that you really enjoy yourself, too!
Have a magical time!!!

for all the pictures and suggestions, and that saying is great. There are always wonderful ideas on these boards.
