1- I was just re-reading my Passporter and it answered one of my questions but raised another. It seems there are 3 Captains between the two ships (which explains how they get time off). Does anyone know what kind of rotation they have? Do all 3 work both the Wonder and Magic, or does one work only the Magic, one only the Wonder, and the third split time between the two ships, spelling the other two?

2- With the crew's pool located up on the bow, does that mean that guests have no access to the "King of the World" spot on the ships? Are there any times when guests are allowed there?

3- I have seen pictures or video of the ships docked at Castaway Cay. Sometimes the bow faces towards the ocean, sometimes toward land. My guess would be that this is weather related. Perhaps the bow faces inland when the seas are a little rough. Does anyone know if there is a preffered docking method for the ships? (If the ship is docked with the bow facing the ocean, then my cabin will have a great view of the island. Otherwise, I get the ocean.)

Look I told you they were weird questions.

I don't think your questions are weird! It just shows that you are informed and asking questions most people don't even ponder!

I can't answer all your questions because I am not a DCL expert, but I do have a few comments to make!

1. On our February Magic cruise, we had Captain Thord. I was told that he isn't normally the captain on the Magic, so maybe he was taking a turn.

2. Yes, you cannot get to the "King of the World" spot. I think the only time guests have been allowed in the crew pool is when the adult pool was out of order. Barb and Tony have pictures of going to the crew pool on their website.

3. From what I've read, the ships used to pull into the dock at CC bow first. Now they always seem to back in. I am not sure what the reasoning is. On our February cruise, it was really something watching them try to dock the Magic because it was extremely windy and rough! Luckily, they were able to do it!

I hope other DCL experts can answer your questions for you.

DD mentioned that they had to "head in" once because the seas were rough. Also, saw somewhere on the board that sometimes the docking direction is dictated by routine maintenance on the ship. They put the side to the dock that they plan to work on.

I have a really stupid question. When you say bump does that mean you want the post to be taken out of the forum?

He's bumping it up so other people see the thread and answer too.

Sorry Fleix, I can't answer your questions........

thank you so much, this whole time I was thinking people were being really rude. I knew disney people just couldn't be that rude!

We also had Captain Thord on our March/April Magic cruise.

I believe the Captain rotation is either six or eight months at sea, followed by two months off.

Question 1, No clue. I do know that the Capt's do move between the ships because we had Capt Henry on our first Magic cruise, and I know he sometimes is Capt on the Wonder.

Question 2. Depends on your definition of the king of the world spot. You can go all the way forward on Deck 9 (It's the outside eating area for topsiders). I think you can also do that on Deck 10 (as memory serves me, that's where the sports deck is). If you mean the spot on the Titanic where Jack and Rose were hanging, yes, that is where the crew pool is, and you can't go there.

Docking front or back is weather dependent, you just can't predict it.

You CAN NOT get all the way forward on deck 9 (and be outside), just deck 10.

As far as CC docking. I think that they back in all of the time now. Something to do with damage to the port/harbor/dock during a hurricane.
