Weird Question - Take out?

I was wondering if you can get take-out from a TS restaurant?

We're staying at POFQ and I'd love to try some of the food at Boatwrights, but was wondering if I could get it as take-out and enjoy it in my room or along the river for a picnic.

There is no TS restaurant set up to order carry-out. The only way you can get take-out from a restaurant is to be seated and order your food; then when it arrives you can ask to have it boxed up. Basically the kitchens are set up based on the seating capacity of the restaurant; if they allowed ordering for take-out it could easily cause major delays in serving seated Guests.

Though the table-service restaurants are not set up for take-out, it's true...I would say it won't hurt to ask at Boatwrights...this place is never very busy, in our experience, so they may be perfectly willing to set you up with a picnic. Worth asking, anyway...worst that can happen is they say no, can't do it. But if it's a slow day, you just might get pixie-dusted there.

And if not, you can definitely get good food at the counter service there, and get it in "to-go" containers for your picnic idea.

We love POFQ, by the way...and can't wait to get back there this September & stay in re-furbished rooms--looking forward to queen-size beds

The answer is maybe, but not likely. There's reports that some may do it if you order something small. Some do not allow it at all. I don't think it is likely that you will be able to order a full meal to go from many WDW TS restaurants.

Technically you aren't actually taking out from the restaurant but at the Polynesian you can order Sushi to go from the Kona Island Sushi Bar, which is the other menu you get when having dinner at the Kona Cafe.
