Weird Question, I know....

Ok veteran cruisers....I know this might be a strange question but I have to ask: Is there a shelf or something in the shower? Or a ledge? I was just wondering if there was space for shampoos, gel, shave cream, razor, etc. or if it would be wise to bring a container that has suction cups to adhere to the wall in the shower. Also, are the shower walls tile?

There is no such thing as a weird question!! There is a ledge around the tub. That is where I kept my shampoo, razor, etc. when it wasn't in the over-door shoe holder. The walls were not tile. I brought suction hooks to hang wet suits that worked well. Hope that helps!

Thanks Kris-so the suction hooks worked fine even though the walls weren't tile? For some reason I tought the suction only works on tile.

They worked fine. Believe it or not, the ONLY swimming we did was at Castaway Cay, and that wasn't much. I thought we could be swimming constantly but my dd8 loved the Kids Club so much, we just did a lot of other activities. I also used our verandah to dry things. That worked out better for us.

We brought clothes pins to use on the verandah to pin the things we wanted to dry down to the chairs so they didn't blow overboard too!

I also brought clothes pins but only used them to keep the curtains closed tight. I had every intention of using them out on the verandah, but didn't seem to need them on our cruise. I would definitely pack clothes pins again! Another great idea from the DIS board threads!

It's true....there is no such thing as a weird question....just look at the question posted about two weeks ago regarding bringing your own toilet paper onboard beacuse they thought the fanny-wipes DCL provided were too "rough!"

And the responces were tooooo funny and all-around classic! A thread to behold for sure!

I am constantly amazed at what people will pack with them on vacation.
Their own......
Toilet paper.
Soda
coffee
ketchup (guess some folks have to have Heinz, Teresa turned me off it)
soap
beer
sweetner
mayonaise
chocolate milk
mustard.

My dad used to be an accountant at a tomato cannery here in Sacramento, it's closed now, but I'll let you in on a little secret, they made Heinz, Hunts, Libbys, Sacramento Brand and several grocery store brand ketchups. The difference? The brand on the label, and the spelling of ketchup-catsup.

I always wondered about that! I use Equate (WalMArt) brand body wash on my kids because they have dry skins and it adds moisture as it cleans.... Anyway- I know it is EXACTLY the same as DOVE!!! For less than 1/2 the price! Same for the Pantene Shampoo!!!!!

I am so glad you asked about a "ledge" or something for bath supplies.
I have been wondering about that myself. I can just imagine the bottles of stuff rolling around in the tub due to the motion of the boat.
I saw (and read about) a mesh pocket thingy that hangs from the curtain hooks, but on the inside of the curtain. It was only $2 at the Dollar General Store. I think I'll feel better if I go ahead and get one. All 3 of us use different shampoos, plus I have my razor, my bath puff, and my Bath and Body Works shower cream.

Your concerns were the same as mine...we all have different stuff and I can just imagine what it would all look like in there-we'd all be stumbling over our stuff. I'll have to see if I can find one of those things you described. Thanks!
