My Nana passed away in September. She was very religious (Catholic) and was always giving us miraculous medals and cards with the Virgin Mary on them. To her great dismay, most of us grandkids do not go to church or really follow the Catholic faith (I am not trying to start a religous discussion, this is just background info). When she passed away she asked all of us to "find the church again" and to pray. Well, I did tell my Nana I would pray for her (and I do pray in my own way... while I'm not practicing any particular religion I do believe there is something bigger than us out there) but I am still just a weddings and funerals kind of church go-er.
Ok so now to the weird part. I found a gold miraculous medal in my washing machine while doing laundry. Odd. I have 2 boys who are forever putting stuff in their pockets so I am very careful about checking pockets. There was nothing in the pockets before I did the wash. I asked my kids about it, if they had seen it before and my son said "YES! I dreamt about that thing, what is it?" He wouldn't really know because, again, we are wedding and funeral church go-ers. He asked me if he could have it, and I gave it to him after explaining what it was.
SO, it gets weirder. We were at a family gathering this past weekend and 2 other family members have found miraculous medals in their washing machines. They say that they didn't have them in any pockets or anything, they just showed up in the wash. We were all kind of freaking out. I mean, seriously, what are the odds of that. In the wash?!?!?!?!??! I would be very suspect if I heard this story, so I totally get it if you are rolling your eyes right now but each person who has found a medal in the wash previous told someone else about it, so it appears to be legit.
I'm thinking my Nana is trying to tell us something.

I love the story.
