We are doing 4 nights for F&W, then a cruise, then 1 night back at AKV in October. :thumbsup2

DH is not staying the extra night, and after the cruise will be driving the rental car to AKV to drop us off. I'd like to keep the rental car. Since I'm checking in that day for a 1 night stay, will DME pick him up to go to the airport?

Thanks!~

No, he is not entitled to Magical Express to drive you to check in, not stay any nights, but take Magical Express back tot he airport essentially the moment after you all get to the resort (or a few hours later).

Furthermore it is ordinarily too late to reserve and schedule Magical Express on the day it is needed.

If he had been scheduled to stayed one night, you/he could have reserved DME well in advance and finalized it on the day before (his) check out equals the day of your arrival.

You could reserve Mears' shuttle a few days in advance (about $20. one way) to pick him up at the Swan or Dolphin at the time desired (about 4 hours before his flight), then you drop him off there after a few hours in a theme park. Or you could drive from the cruise to the airport, he gets out, and you take the car and drive to Disney. (preceding reworded to eliminate the second driver charge)

another option would be for dh to take DCL transport to the airport from the pier and let you drive the rental back to WDW... or, unless you need the car at WDW for a day, why not let dh return it to the airport and let you take DCL transport to the resort and DME to the airport?

I thought you were eligible for DME to and from the resort? If they're staying before the cruise for 4 nights, and he takes DME to the resort then, he wouldn't be able to take it back to the airport from the resort, even though it's after his checkout date? Just curious.

No, he is not. You are entitled to 1 trip to WDW and 1 trip to MCO, but they have to be within your reservation dates. The trip cannot be before or after those dates. Since the trips have a break in between them, they are considered 2 separate reservations.

Now, if OP has her husband listed on the room reservation at AKL the last night, I bet he can get a ride back to MCO if they set it up that way.
