weird black/yellow stripes with ?

that's what came up where the picture should be when i used my card reader this morning but then was able to down load with my camera( didn't think to check again with the card reader before i formatted the card) it happened once before, a few come up fine then the rest like the above mentioned. any ideas if this is a card reader glitch or what? anyone ever have this happen to them?

Since you were able to download the images directly from the camera to the computer, it does sound like a problem with the reader or the connection between it and the computer.

I have had this happen before, but it was a problem with the card, somehow the file gets corrupted and part or all of the image is gone.
