Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

Yay!! Epcot!!

I laughed and laughed at that picture of Matt at the kennel. My mom boarded her dog there once. He was so miserable because she hardly ever leaves him so we always joke that his trip to Disney was a bust. When we got home I made her a scrapbook from our trip and on one page I cut out a picture of her dog's head and put mickey ears on him and made it look like he was a tourist going to the kennel. That's really weird, I know, but it was hilarious. :rotfl:

I love when CM's act in character-- what he said was so cute!!
Our first ride of the day is always Test Track at Epcot, but I'm going to say SE! Love everything about it!!

Yay, you made it to Epcot! I think the tickets are just random but who knows. That is kind of funny Weird ended up with Minnie.

I like your artistic closeup shot of SSE.

Yesss...you made it to Epcot! I loved the F&G Festival!

:rotfl: He got Minnie! One year Fiance got Tink. I was so mad at him because obviously, I wanted her!

Weird was extremely excited about this since he has a thing for segways.

Signing on to your TR!

Segways always make me think of GOB Bluth from Arrested Development. Perhaps next time you are in WDW you can surprise him with the segway tour of Epcot! LOL!

Whoohoo, we're at a park!! :cool1:

First off, poor Matt being threatened with the kennel :lmao: ~ I'll bet he was on good behavior after that!

That lady cruising on the Segway cracked me up ~ she looks like she rides one everyday. :rotfl:

One little thing about the Epcot "ball" ~ my step-grandpa was an iron worker at the time it was being built and he got to help put some of it together.

We think that's pretty cool. :)

Can't wait to hear about all the rides!

That'd be a pretty fun job! The Segway would make the parking lot fun! I remember anxiously awaiting where we would park. We tend to get the spots farthest away! When my mom was pregnant with Matt, we requested a closer spot, and they allowed it. If we had the Segway, there'd be no problem at all!

That's so cool about your step-grandpa!!! I like how you can be part of history in that way. My grandfather worked on designing the mounting device for the big whale in the American Museum of Natural History. Even though he had some part of it, I'm still terrified of it!

Hrm.....DH's favorite ride SE????????? Or the Cool Zone??? or...hrmmmm Ellen's Universe of Energy? No wait SE!

Poor DB!!! Haha he must have been so mad at you guys. I know my little brother would have thrown a fit back then if we told him we would put

him in a kennel. Haha I would have tried how ever! Geez little brothers I swear! Not that he is little any more he managed to grow over a foot taller

than me! He is 3 years younger than me and 6'2 and I'm only 5'0.....:(

Haha, thankfully Matt just laughed it off because he probably still didn't quite understand what a kennel was. I think he just knows it's where you put the pets. But I used to respond to people who asked me, "Do you have a pet?" with "Yes. Matt." Haha, lovely big sister I am, right?

Yay you're in Epcot!

That's such a funny thing the CM said to you :rotfl: It reminds me of the South Park episode with the Jonas Brothers, they were referring to Mickey

Mouse as "the boss" too!

It definitely was a great start to the morning! And the CM didn't "look" like the kind of CM who would make a joke like that either! He looked serious at first.

Yay!! Epcot!!

Haha, underneath the green dot is Matt smiling! So he probably really didn't know what was going on when we told him to stand there! He's such a silly sometimes because he doesn't quite get everything and he tends to forget what we tell him.

Haha, that's a great scrapbook! I get a kick out of putting Mickey ears on anyone or anything!

Because I was with Weird, I was a lot more willing to interact with the CMs. I guess I didn't feel as weird because my dad just wouldn't understand! He did ease up this vacation though, so that was a good thing. I mean, life's pretty easy and pleasurable when at WDW!

Yea!!! We are at and in the parks:cool1:
My vote is for SE as ya'lls first ride

Hehe, you'll have to wait and see where we go first!

yay EPCOT!! LOL@Weird for getting the Minnie ticket! LOL! Can't wait to see where you folks are

headed!

It'll definitely be a memory from now on when Weird pulls out that ticket. We'll probably use it for 2 more trips.

:lmao: Poor Matt! Glad he didn't have to go to the kennel!

I'd like to ask him now if he even remembers what a kennel is!

That was Weird's closeup shot of SSE. I took one in the past, but it didn't come out as clear as Weird's did. Plus, I like how the design doesn't fill up the whole frame so you can see the dimensions in it. Haha, he takes the pics, I admire 'em (and use more of 'em in my TR)!

Yesss...you made it to Epcot! I loved the F&G Festival!

Haha, if I were you, I'd take DFi's ticket and claim it as my own!

tour of Epcot! LOL!

WELCOME!!! I did tell him about the Segway Tour and we looked into the pricing. It made us stop in shock at the high cost! We really want to do the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, so we're going to put our money to that instead. Plus, if he does the segway tour, I'd have to go along with him! I'm not as confident on it as he is!

Yay! You're in Epcot. How funny with Matt and the kennel! Big sisters are supposed to relentlessly tease their younger siblings - at least that's what I tell my sis!

Personally, I think segways are evil. We did a tour in St. Maarten a few years ago. I was so scared and tense, I ended up cracking a bone in my foot :rolleyes1 100% user error - but I blame the segway.

the KTK tour is fun - you know... the steam train tour is great too :rotfl2:

I had 14 years of being the younger sibling and being picked on and teased by my older brother. It's my turn to make up for lost time! Haha.

Ooo, what an injury! It sounds painful how you said "cracking a bone in my foot." OUCH!

Haha, I'll definitely always remember the steam train tour. Whether Weird and I do that tour ... umm ... if Weird has a weird obsession with steam engines, I'll surprise him with it, hehe.

Monday, April 5: Getting the GAC

Our first stop was actually not a ride. I had to go to Guest Relations to see if I could get the Guest Assistance Pass.

IMG_1164.jpg

For those of you who read my PTR, you'll remember the debate I had regarding getting a GAC (link here). If you didn't read my PTR, I'll give you the Cliff Notes version. Basically, I have this thing called vasovagal syncope. If I stand too long or stand all of a sudden, the blood sinks into my legs and pools there causing me to faint. I had gotten a letter from my doctor explaining the orthostatic hypotension, so I felt a little better about going to get a GAC.

The reason why I felt "bad" getting one was that I didn't have a visible issue. From the outside, I look absolutely fine. But if I'm on my feet too long, I sometimes don't even realize that my heart starts palpitating as it tries to get the blood back up. I then get really nauseous and pale, and it's usually my mom or Weird who has to remind me to sit. Getting the GAC would make it easier to tour the parks. A lot of you guys convinced me I should get it since that's what it's there for. If it means avoiding a fainting spell or feelings of sickness, why wouldn't I, right?

IMG_1166.jpg

Well, we walked on to Guest Relations. I had the letter out and was ready to explain what I needed. I told the guy what I had and if I could have a GAC for it. Without a problem, the guy filled out a card with my name, number in party, valid dates, and location of issue. The one he gave (there are different types for different reasons) said, "Guests may enter attractions through the standard wheelchair entrance."

He explained to me that it wouldn't mean I'd have direct access to the ride; it just meant I'd wait in a different area. It did save a lot of time even when we still had to wait because it prevented criss-crossing to get FP for the rides that did have it. That's what I was worried about. I knew I could go from one place to the other to get FP, but the being on my feet issue would still be there. The guy also told me that if I saw a line that looked too long to stand in, I could ask one of the CMs there for a wheelchair. I knew I didn't want to do that because I was afraid people would think I was "faking" an injury. However, it did comfort me to know that that was there for me just in case.

While I was doing that, my dad was also talking to someone in Guest Relations. When we walked into the park, we picked up the maps and times guide. They had a bunch of languages except for Chinese. So of course, he had to ask about a Chinese map! They said they haven't had enough requests for it. I wonder if they jotted it down that he requested it.

I was happy to finally do some fun park things! When we passed by Innoventions, I was reminded to get a Kim Possible FP! Woohoo! We only needed to put one ticket in per group, but later on, we realized we should've gotten 2 separate ones so we could do another mission! Oh well.

IMG_1169.jpg

Weird took a pic of the Scar and Zazu topiary at that time.

IMG_1167.jpg

I wasn't that into the topiaries because I spoiled it from looking at all the pics beforehand!

IMG_1168.jpg

I'm sure if I were just with Weird, I would've enjoyed it more. I think I had the mentality that we had to rush-rush-rush and do the rides. Good thing I was like that on that day though because my dad was with us! He doesn't understand the whole "enjoying the details" stuff.

IMG_1170.jpg

A few people took some guesses as to where we headed first. From what I recall, I don't think anyone said The Land! Whoops, sorry for the blurry shot!

IMG_1171.jpg

Weird was good because he knew to look up. Even after this trip, I still didn't learn to look up! I guess that's something I need to work on during future trips! When do we go back? Hehe.

IMG_1172.jpg

I'll continue in the following installment, but I will let you know that our first stop was not The Circle of Life! However, I was still excited to see it and take a picture with it because I know it's Laura's favorite (VBsHustla on DIS; sister of Jen who's UncleOrville on DIS; latest TR: Ultrafeast)

IMG_1173.jpg

Anyway, it's a little easier to narrow it down now, but where do you think we're headed? Hehe.

I'm glad you got the GAC. You shouldn't worry about what other people think, you have a legitimate need for it, who cares what crabby strangers think! :thumbsup2

I think you're going to ride Soarin'!

Glad there were no issues getting the GAC.

Yay for getting the KP fastpass! If you wanted to do another mission right after you finished you actually don't need a second ticket. I guess if you were planning on taking a break to do one later on you might but we did a couple missions in a row...you just choose the country you want to do on the Kimmunicator. :)

Yeah, I really shouldn't worry about it because it helped me enjoy the trip so much, and I didn't have to worry at all knowing I could use it if I needed to. There were times that I knew people were curious as to why I was there, but I guess they can just keep on wondering. If they really needed to know, I'm sure they could've asked!

Haha, maybe we ARE going to Soarin'. But maybe our first ride had to be Living with the Land? Hmmm ... haha.

Glad there were no issues getting the GAC.

That's what I was hoping for! I knew from DIS that you can continue and do more missions. But I guess I didn't count on the fact that it was going to be so crowded that they wouldn't even give the option of choosing another mission. I was expecting it, but they never gave the option. They wanted us to return it right away. I guess others were waiting! It ended up being a good thing though; it was a lot of walking and backtracking, and we were determined to make it all the way around World Showcase!

I know where you are going, too! :tiptoe:

It really is quite the obvious choice! It's always either that or Test Track as a first ride, and just because we like enjoying the first ride together, it's always Soarin' since mom will NEVER ride TT!

Glad you were able to get the GAC without a problem.

Wow, I'm really surprised Disney doesn't carry park maps in Chinese!

Glad they didn't give you any problems with the GAC.

It seems really strange they wouldn't have a Chinese map :confused3

And Yay for the KP FP. We love doing KP. For our bachelor/bachelorette party in Epcot, we drank around the world, and did KP. It was hilarious the instructions kept getting harder and harder for us and the countries progressed  Bummer you only got to do one mission. I never would have guessed they'd limit it either.
