Weird and Ninja’s Pre-Disneymoon [Completed!]

How strange is it to know that you have an engagement ring out there but no idea when the proprosal is coming? I'd be walking around on eggshells all the time!

Can't wait until he actually pops the question. To me, though, you are already engaged if he's got the ring. You guys just need to make it official!

So exciting!!!

I can't wait until you post the update about the proposal! (I hope Weird doesn't feel any pressure now, knowing that you've been talking about it here and everyone is so excited! Hi Weird!)

Haha when you were saying that this was the title at Panera, you weren't joking!

I don't feel "pressured", actually. I mean, feeling pressured has a connotation of being something that you don't want to do, but it's not true at all! ;)

Now on the other hand, I don't quite know how I'm going to talk to Ninja's parents or mine, though they should already have an idea. It's just a weird thing to mention over dinner or something like that. Guess I'll just have to wait for the right time!

I'm so glad you're okay with that cloud! :cloud9:

Boo to missing the Welcome Center in FL! I was hoping to hear about the OJ thats there!

:woohoo::woohoo::cutie: for the e-ring shopping! How exciting!!

Weird, I meant "pressured" more in the terms of having to make it awesome, so the story is good for all of us! Not in the way that means you HAVE to do it...I should have worded that better! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness...I almost didn't check in on your PTR because I'm late starting dinner. Thank goodness I did!:wizard::woohoo::yay: What exciting news. Would you believe I got chill bumps when you wrote that Weird purchased your ring? Maybe that's why I love Disney so much...fairy tales get me every time. :goodvibes Congratulations to you both on this next big step in your lives together.

So exciting!!! :cutie: Wonder how and when Weird is going to pop the question :scratchin

What are e-rings? It sounds like they are an affordable line of engagement rings that every big store carries...is that right?

Woo hoo for engagement ring shopping (and buying!) :cool1:

I hope you have more fun on Saturday trying it on. Isn't it neat how you just have a feeling about certain things and are led back to them? Congratulations, guys! (even if it's not official yet)

And boo for missing the Florida Welcome Center & OJ. But like you said, you ended up being even closer when you woke up, which was a good thing!

My kids are crazy for silly bandz! They can't keep them in stores here. My DH was so wishing he'd thought up the idea of making rubber bands into shapes and selling them as bracelets!

Slap bracelets were the thing in my day. Do any of you guys remember those things? They came in every color and design!!!

YES! I used to love slap bracelets! As a matter of fact I saw some while at the beach last week in a gift shop. I wondered aloud why they never sell them anymore and my cousin told me it's because the pieces of wire or whatever was inside of them started coming out and cutting people. Bummer! Those things were so fun. I remember mine were always tacky patterns like zebra print with giant animal heads on them. Good times! :rotfl:

Such exciting e-ring news!! I just love weddings! :lovestruc

By the way, I mention you in my TR...we made it to a Cracker Barrel and I have to thank you!! If you have time, check it out, the link is in my siggy. :goodvibes

Ha! So funny that I guilted you into getting us into Florida  Well, we did fly, which got us there much quicker than your multi state road trip :thumbsup2

I'm so sorry that you missed the Welcome Center, what a bummer!

That building with the roof lines that look like waves is really cool, even more so since it has a story behind it!

Haha, I'm glad it pushed me to get to Florida though. I really want to write about WDW!!! I've been swamped with work and dealing with fatigue, which is why I've been neglecting this TR.

Great update-- that building is amazing!
You never know how life will work out or who you'll end up with! :lovestruc

Yup! I agree! I never thought I'd end up with Weird again! I thought when we broke up, that would be it! I'm glad that I was so wrong.

YEAH, you're in Florida!! :cool1:

Off to Michelle's report too. :)

WOOHOO! Haha, now still a few hours to get to Kissimmee!

Yay! You're in Florida!

I would be so obsessed with the Silly Bandz if I was in 7th grade! My kids love them, too. One of them gave me a blue turtle and I left it in my car on the gear shift.

When I saw that they made penguin ones, I said to my 7th graders, "Uh, why is it that there's a penguin one and no one gave one to me?" Haha, a student came up and said, "I was about to give it to you." Mm-hmm ... haha, I wore it for a while.

Yayy you're in Florida! So sweet you were able to take a picture for Matt (: haha, I don't know why fathers like to bust chops sometimes, either! I think it will never get old for them. Looking forward to seeing all the signs for WDW when you enter Orlando :)

Haha, I don't know how they just KNOW how to bust chops! They know EXACTLY what to say!

When I read your title I thought "Oh No! She really did turn the car around" :lmao:

Yay for being in FL!

Haha, that would be such a disappointing TR if that were so!

Please don't feel like you are neglecting us...it just adds to the build-up!!! My DH and I are both teachers and we are seriously dragging right now. It's all we can do to stay up past 9:30. :sad2:

Guess what day it is tomorrow?:woohoo::dance3:

Great story Rae! Thanks for sharing :goodvibes

Thanks for reading! I automatically knew that I had to come on DIS to write about it! I didn't even tell my real-life friends or family yet (other than my mom). We don't really want to discuss it because we're not yet engaged, but I just had to write it here and tell you guys!

EEK! How exciting!

I totally remember buying my first bride magazine! It's so fun!

We noticed something similar while ring shopping as well. Some of the stores just didn't seem to care and were really condescending to us - because of our small budget. The place we bought from was totally different, and just felt right.

I had to wait about a week for mine as well, and I thought I would die of anticipation... Hope the week goes super speedy for you :cutie:

I'm still going through The Knot; I love it! I mean, I look at the website online, but it's still fun to have an actual magazine in my hand. I don't have to be tied to the computer monitor.

I just find that unbelievably silly; if you have rings that we can afford, why not just make the sale? What happens if years down the road, we can afford more expensive jewelry? We'll never go to your store to buy something! Now it's Thursday night, so the week has almost ended!

Congrats on picking out the ring-i agree that marriage is for lifetime(DH and i have been married 27 years this September)
and YEA for florida--i love the different shaped building you pass on the way through Orlando.
SS you didn't get orange juice but there is always next time.

Woohoo for 27 years!!! I would much rather have a wonderful marriage than the most expensive ring in my finger. I'm glad that Weird isn't like that either; we just really enjoy each other's company and doing the things we like to do instead of spending the cash that we don't have!

What exciting news!! Wonder when you'll get the big question??

I wonder too! It'll be a while from now, I believe. I'm okay with it though. The other day I was thinking about how this anticipating and waiting for the proposal stage will never be experienced again! I don't want to rush ahead and not enjoy the time we have now.

Hello from another English teacher! :teacher:

I am so ridiculously late to this TR. I am terribly sorry. My 11th graders have been keeping me very busy. I have spent the entire morning catching up and laughing my butt off. You are an excellent writer and your commentary cracks me up!

I just wanted to add a few comments to what I've read so far. Here goes:

I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay in NC! I've lived here my whole life and I can't imagine living anywhere else. My husband is in the Army and he is stationed in Fayetteville, which is very close to Lumberton.

I'm also glad that you have enjoyed the magic that is biscuits and gravy. I eat them regularly and I am seriously addicted. I was flying through Chicago once and I tried to order them at the McDonalds in the airport and the server looked at me like I was crazy. How can Northerners live without the deliciousness that is gravy smothered biscuits?! :scared1:

I can't wait to read more. Thank you so much for making this long! I need something to help me get through the next 7 loooong months until I get to go back!!

Hi English teacher! Haha, you say you're ridiculously late, but we JUST got to Florida, so I'd say you're right on time! Glad to hear that my wacky commentary can entertain someone other than myself, haha.

I really don't know why biscuits and gravy isn't a more commonly found dish. It's not odd or anything like that. It's just plain yumminess! Mmm, now I'm going to be craving again!

How strange is it to know that you have an engagement ring out there but no idea when the proprosal is coming? I'd be walking around on eggshells all the time!

Can't wait until he actually pops the question. To me, though, you are already engaged if he's got the ring. You guys just need to make it official!

Sometimes Weird and I talk about places or ways he will NOT propose as a funny topic. Like he'd never do it at a sports game on the big screen because we'd never actually be at a sports game!

Hehe, I'm going to copy and paste what you said about being engaged already and make sure Weird read it :)

So exciting!!!

I can't wait until you post the update about the proposal! (I hope Weird doesn't feel any pressure now, knowing that you've been talking about it here and everyone is so excited! Hi Weird!)

I'm excited about the proposal too. I know that it'll be great just because he knows me. It's not going to be a big show or some huge romantic gesture. Neither of us enjoy those things. But I know that what he does plan will be perfect for the two of us, and I can't wait to share it!

Haha when you were saying that this was the title at Panera, you weren't joking!

I don't feel "pressured", actually. I mean, feeling pressured has a connotation of being something that you don't want to do, but it's not true at all! ;)

Hehe, and I was thinking you'd talk to my parents yesterday when you were off from work! But whenever you do it, I know it'll be the right time!

Boo to missing the Welcome Center in FL! I was hoping to hear about the OJ thats there!

:woohoo::woohoo::cutie: for the e-ring shopping! How exciting!!

E-ring shopping makes up for missed OJ in my book!

Weird, I meant "pressured" more in the terms of having to make it awesome, so the story is good for all of us! Not in the way that means you HAVE to do it...I should have worded that better! :goodvibes

Haha, what if the proposal is awesome, but I do a terrible job writing about it because I don't remember it?!? Haha, after the e-ring shopping, my legs were so numb, so who knows how I'll feel after the actual proposal!

Oh my goodness...I almost didn't check in on your PTR because I'm late starting dinner. Thank goodness I did!:wizard::woohoo::yay: What exciting news. This ring thing is really a fairy tale thing just because it was a nice escape from reality. Unfortunately, my assistant principal had an untimely death in the family (a young 24-year old cousin). It's been a real wake up to reality. These fun, joyous occasions helps remind me/us that life can be worth living even though these terrible things occur. We need these fairy tales sometimes!

So exciting!!! :cutie: Wonder how and when Weird is going to pop the question :scratchin

What are e-rings? It sounds like they are an affordable line of engagement rings that every big store carries...is that right?

E-ring is just short for engagement ring. It's easier than typing it out each time. Haha, I used to wonder about what they were when I read wedding blogs or the wedding part of DIS! Because I spent a lot of time doing that stuff since high school!!!

Woo hoo for engagement ring shopping (and buying!) :cool1:

I hope you have more fun on Saturday trying it on. Isn't it neat how you just have a feeling about certain things and are led back to them? Congratulations, guys! (even if it's not official yet)

My kids are crazy for silly bandz! They can't keep them in stores here. My DH was so wishing he'd thought up the idea of making rubber bands into shapes and selling them as bracelets!

Every night when I don't want to say g'nite to Weird (online or on the phone) and every morning when I don't want to go to work, Weird reminds me that we're one day closer! I can't wait to try it on when it's properly sized. That's going to be so surreal because it'll really be mine!

I KNOWWW! The Silly Bandz thing is such a simple idea! When one kid first came in with them, another kid remarked that it was going to be the latest fad. It has kind of disappeared in the middle school except for a few students, but the elementary school kids are loving them. They even put them in the school store!

Slap bracelets were the thing in my day. Do any of you guys remember those things? They came in every color and design!!!

I unfortunately never had a slap bracelet! Haha, part of me used to be slightly scared of it hurting, but I still wanted one anyway. Couldn't justify spending money on it so I never asked my mom for it. I would just play with my friends' bracelets!

YES! I used to love slap bracelets! As a matter of fact I saw some while at the beach last week in a gift shop. I remember when they banned them from our school! I don't know why. I don't know if it was because students were slapping them at other kids or if it was because it was just too much of a distraction. Ahhh, the early 90s were such fun times!

Such exciting e-ring news!! I just love weddings! :lovestruc

By the way, I mention you in my TR...we made it to a Cracker Barrel and I have to thank you!! If you have time, check it out, the link is in my siggy. :goodvibes

YAY, thanks for mentioning me! I went right over to read and have a comment ready to be posted after I post this. I'm so glad that you have a TR for me to read and extra glad that you told me because I haven't been checking the main TR board lately!

Please don't feel like you are neglecting us...it just adds to the build-up!!! My DH and I are both teachers and we are seriously dragging right now. It's all we can do to stay up past 9:30. :sad2:

Guess what day it is tomorrow?:woohoo::dance3:

I didn't expect to be THIS tired in May! We only have 3 weeks left, and I'm trying to make sure I finish the textbooks and curriculum while also grading everything that needs to be graded before final trimester report cards go out. Oy. Haha, not to say that I'm not enjoying this end of the year time!

It's FRIDAY!!! WOOHOO!!!

I wonder too! It'll be a while from now, I believe. I'm okay with it though. The other day I was thinking about how this anticipating and waiting for the proposal stage will never be experienced again! I don't want to rush ahead and not enjoy the time we have now.

For being so young, you are a very wise lady Rachel. We should all live our lives like this! :goodvibes

I saw how worn out you must be right now today in Jared's teacher. I go in every Thursday to help her with the folders that go home with the kids each week, and she is sooooo ready for this school year to end. The kids are bouncing off the walls anticipating summer and she has all these deadlines to meet as well as trying to deal with their craziness. We just have 3 days left, almost there!

I just wanted to say hi! I've been reading your TR and catching up on the rest of them, and they are super fun! Congrats on picking up the ring! My DH bought the ring before he proposed too, and there was a span of a few months before it actually happened too! He didn't know that I knew he bought the ring. :cool1:

Looking forward to reading more!

Ohh ok, DUH! :lmao: I don't think I've ever noticed it before, because I like reading the DIS wedding boards too, and the Knot! It's so much fun!
