Hi there,

I know I know I am suppose to be on vacation. But I don't want to gain 8 lbs in one week...since I ve been losing about a pound a week...that'll be eight weeks of work down the drain!

Has anyone put together an eating plan....I.e. a list of restaurants with their least amount of point meals. I know I could do the research...I was just wondering if someone has done this already ..before I try to create it.

Thanks!

2 more weeks till we leave!

I don't think its been done but I've managed not to gain when I go to Disney. Here are a few tips.

If you have a fridge, make sure you have a quality but low points breakfast. Greek yogurt, protein bars, fruit. If you have an oven, egg whites are perfect.

Bring tons of water to the parks. Get crystal lite flavor packs if that helps. Drink water before every meal, you know the drill ;)

If you're really ambitious, make lunches to bring. We do that some. I get those smart ones quesedillas that I think are 5 point. It's better than blowing calories on counter service. Definitely bring fruit to snack on during the day. Watermelon and grapes are great

I don't worry about dinners. I indulge, but it's so hot outside that heavy cream sauces and fried junk doesn't appeal. The restaurants are good about swapping potatoes for green beans if you like. DH and I always split a dessert if we get one.

Offer to be the fast pass runner, you'll get in more exercise that way.

I usually lose weight when I'm traveling, especially to places like theme parks. You walk the whole day and burn so many calories.

I'm a WDW vet (2-3x/year) & WW leader (100lbs lost)...it has only been the last few trips that I have let my guard down b/c I realize w/ all the walking (& get in the pool even if it's just to kick legs/move arms) I will not gain more than 1 lb. I "splurge on REAL ice cream" & frozen lemonades (wish I knew the calories of those at US as they were very good & refreshing). I don't do all salads but we do b'fast in room (sweet n salty bars/banana for me) then try to do a late BIG lunch & split something w/kids at dinner. Just got back from 10 days at WDW & US & again, it worked out. My problem now is I get a little cocky on vacation & come back to a desk job & realize I can't keep splurging.:goodvibes Don't be scared & have fun....you reallly do do MILES of walking in a day that you probably don't do at home...even standing all day is burning loads of calories. Hope you give an update!

I have also lost weight and don't want to put too much on over our three weeks,it's good to hear that with all the walking and hot weather I won't be sad when I get on the scales on my return.
On the good side this is my first trip where I will feel ok in shorts:wave2:I know there are always bigger people in the parks but it isn't about them it's about I feel inside.;)

We just did 3 days at USF/IOA and 2 at Legoland, and I was in the same boat. I just exercised caution and actually lost 1# while we were there!

Things that worked for me:

~ I usually had a protein bar for breakfast before we left (100-140 cal)
~ If I had a burger or hot dog, I would eat a few of my kids' fries instead of ordering for myself
~ A couple of days I split a large lunch with my mom instead of ordering on my own
~ I let myself have one treat each day, or small bites off my kids' treats throughout the day so I didn't feel deprived
~ I still kept track of my estimated calories each day with MyFitnessPal, so I could have a better idea of where I was
~ I drank a LOT of water

I also gave myself a few meals where I really didn't care, like the night we ate at Fuddruckers - cheddar bacon burger with full load of wedges - yum! It made me feel like I was on vacation but didn't hurt my diet plan too much.

The great thing about keeping up with calories on the smartphone was that I was able to see that even if I went over my target, I was still well under the "2000 calorie a day standard".

It can be done, just go into it thinking "I'm not going to undo what I've done" and be sensible. :)
