Ok... another question.

My husband is having gastric sleeve surgury and won't be able to eat normally ever again really. Am i charged full price for him if we go to a character breakfast where he's not going to eat?

The official answer is yes, he will be charged the full price at buffets/family style regardless of whether or not he eats. You may wish to ask at the specific restaurant but be prepared to pay for him to be at the table.

Yes if you go to a buffet he will be charged the full adult price.

Sorry Disney does not adjust this policy for anyone, even with a doctors note.

In general, YES.You will be charged full adult price.Since they charge kids over 10 the adult price it isn't all that surprising they wouldn't make an exception, and some of the 10 yrs olds eat next to NOTHING..There have been some posters who had some luck with a Dr's note. But that is up to the restaurant .I would plan on paying full price.

I had gastric bypass surgery 3 years ago (lost 140 lbs)and have been to WDW 4 times since then. I have never gotten a discount with any meal. I have never had any problem finding food at all areas, CS, snacks, TS, ...I have found that sharing an entree or getting appetizer as entree has worked well for me. We have used DDP 3 times and DH and I often share CS meals and I have found many sugar-free options for desserts around the world. I do go to the buffets and eat what I like, but have always been charged adult or regular DDP credit....It really is not a hardship at alll
Good luck

I'm sure that most of the time you will be charged for him. It never hurts to ask. My aunt had cancer and because of the radiation to her intestines she can only eat certain things like soups, purees, etc. and small amounts at a time. In 2008, when we were there Chef Mickey's allowed her to bring a cup of soup from the neighboring counter service and did not charge her for the buffet. So yes, it is possible they will make an exception but I would be prepared to pay full price. You might be better off to choose a TS meal where you can order only what he will eat. I do understand that it means skipping the character meals because they are all buffet or family style. Obviously breakfast would be the best choice for you as it's cheapest.
