Weight Watchers

Amymouse, I use empty film containers to hold my dressing but I also put them in a baggie, just in case. LOL

I love the taste of the full flavored dressings most of the time and use my fork trick to keep the points down. Works for me.

Even the so called FF dressings can be hefty on points sometimes. If it does not have the NI you are taking a risk IMHO.

what are ni and imho please for the illiterate? Thanks

Well, haven't quite back OP exactly yet but still have lost 7lbs in about 4 weeks. In any event, when I was doing it last year before I got PG, I made a point of eating breakfast in my room and had a piece of fruit and cornflakes or something like that with lowfat milk. For lunch I often had a turkey sandwich with mustard and maybe a piece of fruit or a small salad with lite dressing. For dinner I didn't do anything religiously points wise. I felt I was on vacation and heaven knows you do ALOT of walking at WDW so I didn't torture myself as to whether or not I had the EXACT amount of points. I just made better decisions OR if I really wanted something that wasn't probably the best thing to be eating, I would just eat half of it. Like a good pasta dish. I didn't gain anything that week. I didn't lose, but I didn't gain and with eating what I wanted for dinner, I never felt cheated. And I am sure I had a Mickey bar in there somewhere.

Now I am trying to get back OP but struggling to do so after being pregnant and not really watching all of that. But I need to get motivated as I know I will lose more quickly if I do. I have ALOT of weight to dump after this baby.

Congrats to you for taking control and getting on WW. Its a great program if you work it. Everyone I know who has used it has lost well and all stayed within 10 lbs of their goal weight for a couple of years at least.

I guess it sounds like we should all steer clear of those turkey legs though huh?

I'm not crazy about the film containers, but you all got me thinking about a container that I could use. I just started WW a few weeks ago, and am planning a trip to WW for Thanksgiving. I'm going to try taking the small travel bottles for my dressing. Some have the squirt-type lid, and some just have the plain lid. I use these for my shampoo, conditioner, etc... to avoid taking full size toiletrie bottles.

You can also start saving the dressing packets that you get from fast food places, etc. The low fat balsamic vinaigrettte from McDonald's is good.

Brave. Tupperware and Rubbermaid make small containers too but I am willing to bet that the tiny travel containers are much cheaper.

Jann, as a former Buckeye I beg to differ with you as to your ignorance. LOL NI means nutritional info and IMHO means In My Humble Opinion. LOL (laughing out loud) (grin)

Kat, I know a lot about trying to lose that baby fat. Hope you do better than I did. My baby is 32. (ROTFLOL)

GuyzMom, is a good idea to take the extra dressing packages. They usually give you more than you need anyway.

I think I am still going to stay with the turkey legs if I find that they are roasted rather than fried as I am losing very well by eating lots of protein. Believe it or not I have lost over 6 pounds this week eating hamburger patties, string cheese, peanuts and the like. I am not hungry either. Yes, I am eating fruits (few) and veggies (lots) also.

I am so glad i stumbled on to this forum. I just signed up with WW yesterday and i have 92 days to go before WDW but this has been helpful and something for me to keep in mind. :)

Welcome Kali

I will be at DW just a bit before you. I have often wondered if it would not be possible to get the NI for some of the dishes at DW in order to compute points for WW or other diets. Bet they get asked this on a somewhat regular basis. After being on WW for a bit you can sort of guesstimate the points for most things but it would good to know for sure. Hoping that Dole Whip is low on points cause I am going to have a couple no matter what!! (grin)

Anyone out there that is well versed in the DW restaurants who would care to compile a listing of reasonable food choices? Maybe we could each take one restaurant and list what we think would be good choices?

I will start with Park Fare but please know that I do not even play a dietician on tv let alone be one in real life. LOL

As with most restaurants you would have to eyeball each item as to how it is prepared and see if it would be lower or higher. If ordering from a menu you can request a dish to be made to your specifications. Remember, you do not have to be good 100 percent of the time, 90 percent will do. I personally just have a bite of something from my dh's plate and that is usually enough. Watch out for more than one bite though, that is what gets you. Have found that I pass up a lot of things I used to eat cause they just are not worth the points. Trouble at DW is that the stuff is usually so darned good.
