Hi All!

I really need to get my weight under control. I just topped 200 lbs and will be 40 in April. I don't want to fat and 40! I have decided to start attending weight watchers meetings. I think I need the accountability of attending an actual meeting with weekly weigh ins vs doing it at home. I find the costs of joining in my area to be fairly reasonable - 8 weeks for $64.

However, are there a lot of books and things they are going to try to sell me at the first meeting this week? Our budget is kind of tight with Christmas coming and all and I feel guilty spending the $64 as it is. I also have a hard time saying No.

TIA!

Each meeting site may be different, but I don't feel like any of the books or products are "pushed" at my meetings. They are available for purchase anytime, so if you are offered them, you could just say something like, "Thanks, but I'm going to wait til next payday for that." or "I think I'll ask my husband to get me that for Christmas." You may find that you end up using e-tools for everything, or you may browse the books sometime and decide they'd be very helpful for you. I did buy a starter kit, but I've never bought any of the food because whenever they have free samples I haven't found anything I like.

I have done WW twice and never felt pressured into buying anything

Good Luck - you can do this
