My husband wants to try out Manta and Kraken at Sea World in Sept. Can anyone give me info on the ability for "pooh sized" people to ride these? After reading the HP ride issues at USIA I am concerned for him on these rides. He is 6'1" and 290lbs. Big football player size build. We are skipping USIA because of the ride restrictions and I was wondering if we were going to need to skip Seaworld as well. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Your husband shouldnt have any issues on the rides at Seaworld. Journey to Atlantis, is a log flume type of ride almost like splash mountain. The rows are large enough and if need be, he could ride in a row by himself.

I believe Kraken, the floorless rollercoaster, has a special reserved seating in the back designed for larger riders.

Wild Arctic is a motion simulator with a simple lapbelt restraint. I dont see him having any problems on that ride.

Im not 100% sure about Manta. Its a lay down rollercoaster. Your on your stomach the entire time. They may have the special seating like Kraken does. A good thing to note, is each ride has a model of the seats that you can try out to see if you fit before you enter the queue line.

Hope you have a great time if you decide to go!

Thank you KBF. I think that we will give it a shot this time.

Kracken does have "big boy" seats, rows 4 and 5 I believe (they're pretty well marked).

Manta does not, but it seems more forgiving than most coasters. I've not had a problem on it, and I need the big boy seats on Hulk and usually Dragons.

Kraken has accommodated seating and Manta he should be okay on, Manta's seats seem to be a tad more roomier than most coasters (don't worry though, those harnesses hold you well haha)

And at US/IOA the only ride your husband might have problems on is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, for some reason that ride wasn't built with special seating, all other rides your husband should be fine on, Dragon Challenge and Hulk have special seating, the water rides have large seats, and Spiderman is a lapbar that goes over everyone. At US I'm not sure though, I know Jaws and Men in Black have fairly sized seating but I'm not sure about the Mummy or Rip Ride Rockit
