I was just wondering if anyone lost weight while at WDW?

I heard it is possible and was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate of how much weight someone could lose if they ate healthy and stayed @ WDW for a week?

Thanks

Gosh I wish! But we diet up until the time to go down to WDW. I tend to 'do whatever I want' while on vacation! :teeth:

Try checking out the W.I.S.H. boards. We have a great little community supporting each other and a few just got back so they'd be able to share. Good luck!

I typically loose weight at WDW, though I do not eat healthy there at all.

I am not a big meat eater and we don't dine at many restaurants while there. A typical meal for me at WDW is a carton of milk and french fries with an ice cream bar later as a snack. I also drink mainly water while there.

I usually loose about 5 pounds, though its probably mostly water weight.

This time when we go we have the dining plan so I expect I might gain it this time and not loose it :guilty:

Good luck to you if try to loose it!

Last year was the first year that I lost weight (about 5 pounds for the 11 day stay). I think it's all the walking. Did I lose weight the previous years but just didn't pay as close attention as I did the last year....probably. Since I figured it was the walking I continued once we got home and have continued to lose the weight. :woohoo:

My family just got back from a 8 day WDW vacation. My daughter and I gained 6 pounds, my son lost 3 pounds, and my husband doesn't want to step on the scale. We walked about 5 miles a day but ate about twice as much as usual.

The last time I was there I didn't lose any, but I didn't gain any either. We were on the DDP, so we ate very well. But we did so much walking that none of us gained anything.

As for now, I'm dieting in preparation for my September trip. I hope to lose about 25 pounds before then. I won't be down to my ideal weight, but it'll take me most of the way there. :)

On my last trip, I ate alot. I usually dont eat in the morning or afternoon at home but while I am at Disney, I find that I have too in order to keep awake and have energy. However, I dont think I gained any weight because I was so active walking around, etc..

This thread is right up my alley. Last year I gained 3 pounds from our 7 day trip to Disney. This year I'm determined not to let that happen again. Last year I really just pigged out, hamburgers and fries everyday for lunch and dinner out. The only meal we didn't eat out was breakfast and since I'm not a bit breakfast eater, I'd down a slimfast.

It's so rediculously hard to not just grab something (that happens to be incredibly high calorie, greasy and full of fat) while at the parks. **Sigh** I've tried hard to lose about 5 pounds prior but not having luck. Figured if I lost 5 before we go, it would be ok if I gained a few pounds back while there.

Oh well, really I shouldn't worry about it. I mean I don't want to stress over watching my weight while at the happiest place on earth!

We went last September and between the walking and the constant sweating from the heat/humidity I lost 5lbs even though we were on the Dining Plan. Although, I'd guess that it all came back the second we were home and I sat down for more than 2 minutes and had a couple of glasses of water to re-hydrate :rotfl2: I definitely don't foresee WDW turning into the latest weight-loss craze :rotfl:

I usually drop a couple three pounds per 10 day WDW trip due to the 5 miles a day hiking in the March heat for which we Pa natives are not yet adjusted. In addition, we tend to 'graze' on Pub Grub and we only schedule 2 or three big sit-down dinners, and, as suggested by the pic, we survive on Liquid Bread for our daily calories and fluid replacement.

I dropped sixty pounds before our May trip, and although I walked more than ever, still put six back on in ten days. Oh well, it was a great vacation..

I usually try and loose 10 lbs before I go, this way I'll gain it back while I'm there so I break even.....

When I was 12 wks pregnant with my 3rd we did the land sea package on the Wonder. I lost 4lbs. I was surprised. We did a lot of walking. I tried to eat what I normally would if I was at home. That was the only time in 3 pregnancies that I ever lost weight.

I have not lost any weight but never gained either. Most likely because I already do 5 miles every day. You will lose weight if you create a calorie defecit to your daily routine.

How much weight you gain/lose depends on what you eat. I have found the food at WDW to be very salty, so even if you gain a few lbs, it is most likely water retention.

If you are looking to actually lose weight at WDW, you might without even trying due to all the walking. What I do is eat healthy for breakfast and lunch (fruit, veggies and lean protein) lots of water then have what ever you want for dinner.

Thank you for your help :] You sound like a seasoned work outer ;] I can't wait to go, only 3 days!
