Weight Loss Support Group

OK so I started the group here for the same reason why I'm starting a group. My reason why I'm losing wait.

Thanks for starting this thread. I am in the same position as you are. And I will be at Gay Days as well! I'll post more later when I have more time, but I just wanted to let you know you're definitely not alone.

By the way, my goal - which I definitely won't make by my upcoming trip, but it's a goal for the future - is to get my weight at least low enough so I can go one of those Segway classes at Epcot. I'm currently well above the weight limit.

For years I had wanted to ride the horses at Fort Wilderness , I couldn't , I was to heavy!

I'll be expecting a picture of you on top of a Segway after your tour !!!!!!

:thumbsup2

Good luck Boston. I know WW does work. My brother lost over 110lbs on it. It was wonderful for him. He went to weight watchers and went for a walk a few times a week and the pounds literally just dropped off of him. I have no doubt you can do the same. Good luck and have fun with it. :)

Hey guys! :wave2:
Thought I'd join in too. I started my weight loss journey last July.
The gym ... everyday!
So far I've lost 75 pounds and I have another 15 to go to my goal weight.
The wild thing is - if I go by pant sizes - I'll wind up back or near my size I was in high school.
I really had no idea. And frankly, I can't believe it!
Now that last 15lb is going to go slow I think,
and just may take the whole summer to ditch. :sad1:
Best of luck to all!
And off to the gym... :tiptoe: again!

I'm right behind you ... on my way to powerpump and spinning classes, but nothing too strenuous since this is recovery week in a 10-week periodization training. As a result, I can't let me heart rate exceed 65% of its maximum. Think of a leisurely stroll chatting with the girls!

Good job everyone on being on program and for the weight lose. I should be. I did see one post I can add too.

There is also a great fat-free brownie mix by Krustease that tastes really good.

For those that have a sweet tooth, and are just cutting the fat and doing portion control (as this is not low carb perse) You can use any boxed packaged cake or brownie mix and make them low/no fat. Instead of the oil and or water a recipe calls for use the same measurement of a diet soda. If the recipe calls for eggs, use only the egg whites. You'll be suprised how many variations you can com up with. This is a WW recipe, a friend who lost over 100lbs told me about it.

I too can relate to everything being said! I'm 36 and finally decided enough was enough....time to get in shape. In December I was 245lbs, 6' 2". I signed up with a trainer at my gym and managed to lose 25lbs. She recently quit to take another job out of state so I'm on my own. Luckily, before she left she turned me on to the "Bodybugg." I now wear my "bugg" and keep track of all of my calories burned/eaten. On my own I've managed to lose another 7lbs in the past month well on my way to my goal weight of 200lbs.
Keep up the hard work everyone and know that you truly are not alone!

The winter fat I have decided must come off before my trip in September. Rollerblading three to four times a week, gym a couple times a week, tanning like a crazy mofo and watching what I eat.

I will be back to my ideal weight.

I have 26 more days until my Gay Day trip , I have 10.2 pounds to more to lose before I'm 10% less then from when I started . I'm hoping to get to 250 or below.

Good Luck everyone , keep up the good work!

What is the bodybugg?? :confused3

The BodyBugg is an armband device that you wear 24/7(except when showering) and it keeps track of exactly how many calories you have burned and also how many steps you have taken. You then go to their website and enter in whatever you ate for the day. The program converts all of your food to calories so you can see where you are. The basic principle is that you need to create a "calorie defecit" every day to lose weight. For example, to lose one pound a week(aproximately 3,500 calories) I need to have a calorie defecit of 500 per day(meaning I need to burn 500 more than I eat). I have actually been averaging a calorie deficit of around 1,000 per day. As of my weigh in yesterday, I have lost 10 lbs in the past month and it's the easiest thing I have ever done. The program also converts all of your food and gives you reports on how much protein, carbs, fat, etc. you are eating every day. It will also give you custom daily menus based on what you like to eat so that you can reach your daily goal.
I can't really explain the science of how the Bugg works.....way too complicated. You can see a short demo at Boddybugg.com if you are interested.
I highly recommend it for anyone who has trouble watching what they eat.

Sorry - The name makes me :scared: itchy.

LOL! I know what you mean. I was a bit freaked out at first......until the pounds started to drop! You can put anything you want on me if it will make losing weight easier.........wait, that doesn't sound too good:goodvibes

P.S. I had my weekly weigh in this morning and I'm down another 3 pounds! Only 10 more to go!

Great Job on the weight loss! I know you’ve worked really hard. With 27 days to go and 10 pounds that’s over 2 pounds a week…

I’ve been lurking on this post since it started. I weighed 200 pounds on January 1, 2007 at a 36 to 38 inch waist. I should explain I was in a car accident exactly a year before and after I came to from the accident I had gained 40 plus pounds and went from a 32 inch waist up to that 38. It was really strange. To top it off I had turned 40 while I was out. So In January of this year I decided to lose weight. I lost about 10 pounds in Jan and then my Friends started a competition on weightlosswars.com. It was from 2/2/07 to 4/21/07. My competitive spirit kicked in and I won by 10.5 pounds and lost 25 pounds during the competition. I just ate less and did an hour on an elliptical every day. I still have an inch to go but that hour on the elliptical is great. I put it near my computer and listen to music during the hour. That hour makes all the difference. I have a photo from at Epcot at May of last year when I was tubby and I will be there next week and plan to do an ‘after’ photo in the same spot with the same clothes on (except for the pants cause they would fall off - Disney would probably frown on that). I can’t wait to post it!

It is funny how I never thought I could loss the weight, I had never had to lose weight before, it seemed impossible but with some effort and discipline it happened.

Great Job , I;m looking forward to seeing the before and after pics.

I hope you enjoy Disney .

I also thinks its terrific you had friends compete with you , makes it a little easier to lose the weight !

beforenafter.jpg

We got back on Friday, May 18, and had a great trip. For a trip to Disney World it was a very relaxing trip. The picture on the left is May '06 and the picture on the right is May '07. I thought the sun glasses in the left photo would hide the weight. I was very wrong. I am still a little bigger than I am used to but I feel SO MUCH BETTER! So now that I am back, I have to work the weight that I gained back and about 10 more pounds or one inch around the waist.

In the May '07 photo it looks like I am missing a leg! It's just the way I am standing

WOW

What a fantastic job you did losing that weight. I love that you wore the same shirt . I'm going to have to see if I have any photos of me from last year. This week people are asking me if I'm losing weight but I haven't noticed it myself yet.

You look great . You look so much thinner without those sunglasses <G> !!!
Good Job!!!!!!

Keep up the good work.
