Weight Loss 2009

The more, the merrier, and the better support we can give each other!!

Went to the walking track at 8am and signed up for the year, it was only $15/month that way. Walked 3 miles and the ipod helped it go fast. My goal is to go daily (do at least 1 mile/day) for the first six weeks to get the habit firmly in place.:goodvibes

Ok just posted about starting yesterday and i've fallen off already :confused3 Well not really but..........

Today is my 'baby's' 9th birthday and we went to see Marley and Me (great movie.... break out the kleenex for the end though) then we went to Turtle Jacks for dinner (yummmm wings!!!) so no healthy eating today between popcorn and wings!! But hey.... it's not every day my little man turns 9 - and I did have a salad with my wings instead of fries - and I drank water instead of pop!

:rainbow: WTG on two years smoke free!!! Yay!! :jumping1:

GREAT JOB JOANN - I quit smoking August 15th and know first hand how tough it is. Remember you would have to be 75 lbs overweight to equate to the damage you do to your body by smoking!!!

That said - I gained 10 lbs after I quit - (but I feel SO much healthier than when I was smoking...I have great circulation and am sleeping better)

I would like to lose the 10 lbs and increase my energy further before I hit 40! but Im shooting for March. Trying to Keep it Simple -
Eating better - by cutting out processed foods. Walking daily.

That should do it!

I read the book the last couple of the nights. It was a great book!

Had to eat at McDonald's today...(husband was driving and refused to drive to the other side of town for pita pit:confused3 )...so I had a classic chicken grilled...and a couple of my daughter's fries...felt tired the rest of the afternoon...and then started in with a nasty headache I can't seem to shake.

I have been doing really well about exercising (mostly shoveling snow) not eating out all week and not having too much bread then because he gets a craving for a big mac, my good start has faltered. (I had to eat something...had been at hockey for 2 hours...so cold I think my watery eyes could have flooded the ice:sick: )

sorry need to vent a little.:rolleyes1

so tomorrow its back on the wagon:thumbsup2 and more snow shovelling as we have had about 3 inches in the last 2 hrs and it's still comming down:sad2:

hope everyone else has been able to keep up the momentum through the weekend:thumbsup2

Hi. By the looks DD 16 and I are the 3rd person here that went to see Marley And Me. We Loved:love: it. I did though share a popcorn and pop with DD, but at 3:30 that was my lunch and not hungry for supper, just a snack.

vent away!! :goodvibes we had mcdonald's yesterday for lunch too but I confess I was so happy :rotfl2: it was getting old, watching that everything I ate was healthy, so it was a break and I enjoyed it. probably why I was so motivated to walk this am!! :rotfl:

Hey All...I'd like to hop on the wagon with you!

I'm not going to say how much I want to loose (I have too many IRL friends who lurk on here and I don't want them reading it!!!!) but lets just say it's lots!

My first goal is to loose 10% of my current body weight by spring and then we will go from there. What am I going to do differently in order to accomplish that? Well lets start with the water and healthier eating. I'm going to try and get back to the gym...that seems like enough for now.

That's a success! You made some good choices, and had fun celebrating :thumbsup2

Vent away. Sometimes it much easier to vent and get it out, than stew on it, and end up in argument that you don't want.

The weekend has been going well for me. Still have one more cup of water to drink today, and did have A&W today, but that's in my plan. I enjoy it, so once a week is acceptable for me, as long as I also do exercising and drink 8cups of water.

Looks like there were a few of us in the hospital having babies on Jan 10th, 2000 - Happy 9th birthday to your 'baby' cabmom and to my ds and SandraC's ds too!!:bday:

Well I had my week 2 weigh-in yesterday at WW. I lost 0.6 lbs but I know I had such a big loss last wk that I can't expect the same every week. So my total is 5.6 lbs in 2 wks!
Daisy are you going to the Civic for their walking track? I wish my gym had a track. I can't wait until the nicer weather and then I plan on utilizing the outdoor track at the Civic, along w/ the stadium stairs.
Also for those of you who visit McDonalds there are many things to have that allow you to stay within moderation.
For instance a small hamburger (no cheese) is only 5 pts, a small fry is also only 5 pts. So whenever I used to get my craving for junk food I would get a hamburger happy meal w/ small fries, sm. diet coke, and I would add an order of apple slices w/o the caramel sauce. For 11 pts I had my fix & I felt really satisfied.
Also the McDonalds sundae w/o the topping is only 3 pts.
If anyone else wants any tips on what to order at fast food places, just ask.

Hey all. Down 3.5 pounds today from when I started on the 01st :woohoo: I was hoping for more but who cares, I'm going in the right direction; going to Mcdonalds to celebrate.. just kidding :)

I too have fallen off the wagon a few times since I started but the experts say that's normal...So isn't it good to know we are all normal people here. I just want to be normal a little less frequently though.

I don't have a walking track in my area so I try to go to our local mall 25 min drive away to satisfy my walking urge. I get too bored on the treadmill at home and try to change it up a little by going to the mall once or twice a week.

Q: re: WW how many points are you allowed to use on average daily ?

Q: Does anyone know where I can get a new pair of Disney Croc's I checked at the Bay and at Sport Check but they only have the regular ones.

Good Luck everyone and never give up trying to obtain your dreams.

:yay:  :yay:  :cool1: :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

:goodvibes WTG! 5.6 - I'd take that! :yay:
Yesterday, was @ Legends - one nice woman also walking asked if I'd been to Civic yet and another asked if I'd been to the centre on Conant :rotfl2:
Everyone is walk ~cr8zy~!!

How long would it take you to get to Legends if you took Taunton and not 401? Ice skating is not a strong suit (have only been in Canada a few years) but I will skate a bit. I'm mostly looking forward to using the pool. Today after my one mile walk I'll use the pool - ok ok I'll use the hot tub! :rotfl: Hey gotta rest the legs. A little sore this morning from yesterday, after not walking for a while :rolleyes1 ok after not walking since Disney :rotfl2: .

Can't wait to walk :butterfly outside again, we especially love going to Darlington. Then sometimes I take the paw: dog on the walking/bike trails, or DH and I like to walk at the track at Eastdale once in a while. Looking forward to the Civic track, how is it?

Does anyone know about the Dis Wish icons? Do we put our goal on there, i.e., 5 lbs? :wishfive Or is that after? Candielips you have 5 down already!

:daisy:

Sorry I was trying to quote someone else on going to see Marley & Me.

My guy was born in Aug 2000.:rotfl:

I'd like to join the weight loss club as well. Was told by my doctor to lose 42 lbs or face major back problems in 1 to 2 years. Was planning on losing weight anyway this year, just not as much as she want's me too. Haven't been that thin in over 12 years, so am curious as to what I'll look like once I lose the weight. Time for a major clothing shopping spree when I do. I was good yesterday, I took the kids to McD's, and rather than having a large meal, ordered a 4 pc kids nugget meal with apple slices instead of fries. Was surprised that it filled me up, with out making me feel heavy. I can change...I think. Have a great day!!:grouphug: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

This is great to know thanks.:lovestruc I love the fries and would of rather had the burger instead yesterday!....and if I order a happy meal, I get a toy too!:cool1:

:yay:  :yay:  :cool1: :yay:  :yay:  :yay:

The number of pts you get depends on how much you weigh now/what your ideal weight is. You start with more points (which seems like a lot) and as you loose the points decrease to help you slowly get your portion sizes and snacking ect under control....(that is how it was explained to me by my MIL.)

I haven't weighed in ...have to get a new scale...but I am hoping to be down by at least 5lbs by the time I go to my Mother's next week!:)

Here is for anyone wanting to know how to calculate how many WW points from the WW book
add up your answers and thats how many points per day

How old are you
17-26.......score 4
27-37........score 3
38-47.......score 2
over 58...... score0

what do u weigh?
From this take the first 2 digits of your weight in pounds ie:175 it would be score 17

take all your scored answer add them up and thats your daily point allowance
plus you get 35 extra ontop of those that u can use each week ( save them up, split it up over the 7 days use them for special times out )
