weight gain?

I don't weigh myself on a regular basis. I go by how my clothes fit. At home I run 2 - 4 X week. On the DDP I ran every morning and walked in the parks all day. I ate everything I wanted. I lost weight. I think the whole increased activity thing, plus the added food, "jump started" my metabolism. Yeah my body hurt, but in a good way. I always do vacations that make me work out more, because it's hard to do it at home working full time. Have fun!

I always dreamed of going on vacation to Disney World and then running in the morning around the Wilderness Lodge while everyone was still sleeping so I could look beautiful. It's a long way aways I tell you. First of all I can't run yet (well not for long distances) and I don't have enough money to stay in the Wilderness Lodge.

I was at WDW with my sister and a friend last x-mas/new year. We were not on the DDP, but I decided to allow myself to eat all I wanted since it was vacation. But, seen as we had limited time there, we were running around like crazy trying to see all the shows/attractions and get as many fastpasses as possible, so it turned out that I happily lost some 5 pounds (2 kilograms).

I gained 2.5 lbs, but I think most of that was water weight because of the sodium in the foods (which I really try and avoid at home) and was only up 1 lb within a couple of days. Considering how much I ate, all of the increased physical activity really balanced out the eating. It was a vacation and I enjoyed myself totally and that included eating things I normally wouldn't at home. I usually try and lose a few lbs before a vacation so I can eat whatever I like and not feel guilty about it.

I had been dieting in anticipation of the gorging that was to come. We spent 8 days and 7 nights in the world and we ate WELL!! With all the walking though, we each just gained one pound. Not bad for all the wonderful food we ate :cool1:

I lost about a pound during the week I was at WDW on the dining plan. When I'm at home, I work out about three times a week. My workout is mostly strength training, but I do spend about a half hour-45 minutes walking hills on the treadmill or on the elliptical during each session. The additional walking seems to have counteracted having dessert with every meal. I don't diet, so other than dessert, my food choices weren't that different at Disney than they are at home. One of the things I love about eating at WDW is there are always lots of options. If you don't want to eat cheeseburgers as your counter service meal, you can always seem to find a soup or salad.

I will say that I spent quite a bit of my vacation week feeling utterly stuffed full of food. Sometimes uncomfortably so, but usually just that happy, "Boy, that was a good meal" feeling.
