Weight Loss Peptides are just like every other medication. What works for one person, doesn't work for someone else. One dose might be enough for some, but others might need more, or less... Also, Semaglutide (Ozempic) might not work as well for you, but Tirzepatide (Mounjaro) might work like a charm. Some might even need to step up to Retatrutide.
From personal experience, I found Semaglutide worked for the first 3 months, but when I got to the full dose, the full feeling wore off. Slowly at first, but gradually completely. I took more and more Semaglutide but it just never worked the same as previously. I ended up stopping for a while, then trying to start over again, which had some success, but nothing like others were seeing. Sugar control was ok though.
I ended up moving to Tirzepatide (Mounjaro), and found that it worked a LOT better for me. Moving up through the initial doses I felt very little hunger, and when I did eat, I was full very fast and the full feeling lasted the rest of the day/night.
After a few months though, I found it difficult to find Tirzepatide (Mounjaro), but could get Retatrutide (the newest version that works on 3 different GLP-1 antagonists. It was a bit more expensive, but as you would expect, it worked even better than Mounjaro... I worked my way through the initial doses and found that by the time I got to the full dose, I was rarely (if ever) hungry. And if I did feel hungry, if I got distracted, I would forget about it completely. If I don't make a conscious effort to eat at least something, I could go for days without even feeling remotely hungry. And the weight loss is dramatic. I started at 400lb, and within 6 months I have lost 100lb. Without deliberate diet or planned exercise. What I have to admit, is that the more weight I lose, the better I feel, so the more active I am, so technically the more exercise I consequently do (not planned or deliberate though). Just like grocery shopping, or walking further from the car to a store or just not getting tired and having to sit. The difference truly is amazing!
And, sugars. They used to be between 110 and 300 depending on time of day, what I ate, how active I was and how much Insulin I took. And I was ALWAYS hungry!
On Semaglutide, they were generally between 100 and 200 all the time, and I still felt hungry. Weight loss was slow and almost not noticeable.
On Tirzepatide, they were good. Usually between 80 and 110 regardless of any other circumstances.
On Retatrutide, they are perfect. Consistently. Between 72 and 100. It doesn't matter what I do, they are just always perfect.
It is VERY important to stay hydrated though, especially when you find yourself eating less, or not at all, as it is not uncommon to get kidney or bladder infections, have concentrated urine and pain. Drinking lots of fluids seems to resolve these issues.
There are other issues that come with losing weight too fast, which I do suffer from. Gall Stones and Kidney Stones are the two worst... And there's not a lot that can be done about them without medical intervention, and great expense.
I will say, I have found whenever reducing or stopping any of the peptides, I find my hunger returns within a week or two, and the "food noise" (constantly thinking about eating) returns and is hard to put aside.
In my opinion, Retatrutide is an absolute god send. It works so well for me. I am losing weight like never before, feel fit and active more than any time I can remember in the past, have stamina like never before. I don't feel hungry, really ever. And I eat a tiny amount, occasionally, and only because I REALLY WANT TO. And even then, I find my eyes are bigger than my belly as I will cut off a small piece of whatever I felt like, and get half way through it and feel full, like wanting to stop eating because I am satisfied.
I honestly say, try Semaglutide. It is available cheap generically now. Stick with it and follow the instructions as trying to increase the dose too much or too soon can end in very painful stomach cramps and urinary track problems, so much so it can turn you off ever trying again. If you find it isn't working once you get to the full dose (after about 12 or 13 weeks), change to Tirzepatide. Again, not as cheap, but reasonable in generic form. This should work for most people, but if you're still not satisfied with the results after reaching the full dose, absolutely go to Retatrutide. It is about double the price of Semaglutide, is only available generic as it hasn't been officially released by the manufacturer yet, but it is well worth the money in my opinion.
All three peptides can still be a little hard to find at times, but there are supplies out there now. I didn't have too much trouble getting generics in the USA late last year, but since being in Mexico, I found it almost impossible to find any of them. They tend to prefer the tablet version of Semaglutide (Rybelsus), probably due to the difficulty of refrigerated transport and storage here, but for me, Rybelsus simply did not work. I found absolutely no difference. Nothing. Except the huge empty space in my wallet where the money used to be. I would suggest giving them a miss completely... But recently there has been a reliable supply of generic injection pens of all three peptides available in North West Baja California. The ones I found contain 5 full doses (not 1.5 like the original) and the price is cheaper than the original even though it has more than 3 times the amount of ingredient in them...
If you have type 2 diabetes, especially if you take medication (tablets or insulin) to control your sugars, do yourself a favour and change to at least Semaglutide. Insulin makes you put on weight. That's a fact. And the tablets (like Metformin) cause kidney and liver issues already. The least amount of pills your body has to process, the better off you are. After changing over to peptides, you'll never look back. And the generic cost is really not that much more than the cost of regular old diabetes meds... And the side effect is... WEIGHT LOSS. That's a win in anyone's books...
In case you are in Mexico and can't find suppliers, try the pharmacies in Revolution (south of the arch) in Tijuana, Farmacia Economica (Affordable Pharmacy) in Rosarito, Discount Pharmacy in Puente el Morro, and most of the remaining pharmacies in and around Adolfo Lopez Mateos in Ensenada (though it seems like there has been a massive crack down on pharmacies in Ensenada recently as there are MANY closed down with large "suspencion" stickers across their doors... The remaining pharmacies that are open have all had them when I have asked.
Anyway, I hope this helps on your weight loss journey, and takes away some of the mystery and concern about weight loss peptides and what the options and differences are.
GOOD LUCK! YOU CAN DO IT!
