WEGOSHOP Vs. Garden Grocer

We use WeGoShop because we have specific items we want and also I have been able to check Publix's ad right before we leave and add any fresh produce on sale. My neighbor used Garden Grocer in the past with no problems, she is using WeGoShop this upcoming trip because several family members now have dietary limitations.

We used We Go Shop and were very pleased. I liked that we could choose the specific brand that she would buy. I also liked the fact that we could purchase alcohol (I don't think that you can with Garden Grocer). You can choose which store to shop from, so you can look at an ad if you want and get the specials for the week. Amy even offered to go to a couple of stores to find exactly what I wanted. If you need to restock, she cuts the delivery fee in half. You can't beat it!

We used it at BCV last time we went and were very impressed with Garden Grocer. Like the other posts said, they left our groceries at the bell desk and anything that need refrigeration was refrigerated. They have a better selection of groceries and sundries too. We will use it again this October. Not sure if they deliver liquor, we usually stop by the liquor store the first day we arrive.

We used Garden Grocer this November and were happy with the service.

We were able to order specific items that we wanted (not listed on their site) by requesting them in the comments section.

We requested beer for my stepdad in the comments section, and asked that it be delivered to bell services in our absence. I just had to scan and email a copy of our driver's license for proof of age.

Once we got into the room, I called down to bell services, and our groceries were in our room within 10 minutes.

No problems at all with my special requests.

We used WEGO shop for the first time Christmas week. Marge is no longer the owner, Amy is. I spoke with Amy when we landed at MCO and she informed me that Cathy would be our shopper. Cathy phoned me 3 times to verify products/substitutions. While on the phone with her my DDIl requested another item for the baby, Cathy walked to the baby aisle and told my DDIL the brands they carried. As we were getting out of the car at the BW she called me to let me know she was there and to call her when we had the villa # and she'd bring up the groceries. She arrived before bell services, unpacked the groceries and went over the receipt with me. She also went to the liquor store for us. I was thrilled with their service and will use them again in March.

We have used We Go Shopping repeatedly for the last few years with great success. They deliver right to the room. THe prices are wha they pay plus the delivery fee. Very fair when you consider the time it takes to shop and your premiem time while at Disney. We have never had an issue woth the cost, products purchased and their promptness.

We love Wegoshop! We have used them for over 4 years for our family vacations. They have been wonderful and I have never had a problem. They have gone out of their way to meet all my requests and the one time they brought the wrong pop, he came right back with the right pop. I have had Marge and her husband both deliver. They just had a baby and it is fun to catch up every year with them.

Both services are well-regarded. Both services will deliver alcohol if you wish. Both services are effectively charging you for convenience. The way to choose is really based on which ordering model you prefer. I happen to prefer GG's, because I always forget things without having a list to browse. Others prefer WGS's for the extra degree of control they get. Tomayto/Tomahto.

I see some replies about deliveries made under the new ownershipof wegoshop but I was wondering if there were any more? I am considering using wegoshop for my upcoming trip. Do you have to lock your order in with a credit card number? I have considered and ruled out goodings but am still on the fence about garden grocer...we have a small baby and garden grocer doesn't have much variety when it comes to baby food and other baby supplies. Does garden grocer allow you to request items not on their website? I am interested in hearing about baby needs deliveries as well. Thank you!

Wegoshop charges you exactly what the store charges them. They actually give you the store receipt when they deliver the groceries. All you have to pay is the service fee that they publish on thier website. We used Wegoshop on our last trip and I highly recommend them.

:thumbsup2 Agreed! We've used wegoshop and loved the personalized service they offer.

I haven't used Garden Grocer, but I was put off by having to use just their list instead of being open to request anything. There were some things that we wanted that were not on their list.

I also didn't like being forced to choose from garden grocer's list.

Trying to figure out how to pay for Wegoshop. I believe with GG I paid online with my CC. What do you do with Wegoshop? On their website it says you can pay at delivery with cash or CC. So they don't take a CC when you place the order initially? TIA!

We used Wegoshop in November and paid over the phone with a credit card because we were arriving later than the delivery window. Once you place the order, I think she calls you and gets that information if you won't be around when she delivers.

Thanks!!:thumbsup2

We used garden grocer 2x, it was easy and convenient, but they messed up our order both times. The first time they got us the wrong mix and we called them and they exchanged it. It wasn't a huge deal we just left the other package with bell services, they picked it up and returned with the correct one. The second time they only got us one yogurt, and messed up on a couple of other things. I checked the receipt, it was on their and we had paid for it but we were busy (it was marathon weekend and we were with a group who had never been there before so we got distracted and never ended up calling.
Anyway, I never tried the other one but was considering changing this time.
