I just placed my order with wegoshop for an upcoming trip. My question is do I need to tip on top of the $37 shop & delivery fee? Its seems like a lot. My local grocery store only charges $10 to shop and delivery. I understand its vacation and prices are higher, but do I really need to tip on top of such a large fee?

It does seem a lot for your ordering process. When you placed your order at Wego, do you have to have a certain dollar amount to order and deliver. I throught that there were other places that you can order from. Does anyone know? Thanks and have a great trip. :flower3:

The delivery fee is based on how much your order is. I'm estimating my order to be around $250. You can also order from gardengrocer, but they didn't have everything that I needed. As far as I know those are the only two places to get groceries delivered to WDW.

I tipped on top of the delivery fee, but when I actually used this service the delivery fee was around the $10 mark. They waited for me to get there to meet them, was professional and kept things cold. They even offered to take it to my room. I remember it being a hot one so I felt it was more deserving than just the fee. Plus, gas prices had started on the incline and I had that on mind, too. I may be wrong, but I feel the delivery fee is just that. They've set a benchmark with it. If they've gone above and beyond expectation then you might feel extra is warranted. Hopefully some more opinions will chime in. I certainly don't want to insult the delivery person if I'm wrong.

We used Wegoshop this month. Our order wasn't as large as yours, but I added another $10 after Amy made her delivery. Too much? I don't know. We needed some organic items and she really made an effort to make sure we had those items. It was worth it for me since I didn't want to rent a car, find the store and shop while the rest of the family played in the parks. Look at it this way, Wegoshop buys from whatever store you say, they charge you that price plus delivery charge. That charge includes the time needed to shop and the cost of gas. How long would it take you shop for that much food and will you do it alone or with the family? What is the service worth to you?

I know there are folks who want to shop for themselves and are willing to take the time to do it. In my old age, I want to enjoy my vacation as much as the rest of the family and with my family. And I think I'm worth it. :goodvibes

Wego and GG are great services but we find it easier to rent a car for a day and do all of our shopping ourselves. We always get what we want, when we want it and at a better price.

I just placed an order with GG for our upcoming trip. No delivery charge with an order of $210. I will tip the delivery person directly when I receive my order. What % do you usually tip...10,15,20?

We have used wegoshop 5 times now and have been very, very satisfied. Our delivery fee was a total of $17 the last trip.
I tipped Marge $10 on top of that.
To me, they provide a service above and beyond and I feel they have earned a tip.

We had about $150 worth of groceries, We tipped about $10.00 on top of that. They were awesome, going to two differnent stores to get the wine I requested, and did not charge me the two store fee. All my cold stuff was cold and delivered it to our room and helped unpack the items.

I usually tip GG 10-15% on the grocery order total (not including delivery fee).

Just in case some haven't looked into it...

Yes there is no delivery fee for GG (if over a min) but if you look at their marked up prices you will see that's where they earn their money. Both are a service and have to earn some money somewhere. GG has no delivery fee but marks up the food an unknown amount. WeGoShop has a delivery fee and no markup. Choose where you want to pay!

In June when Amy delivered our groceries, our bill was around $175. Considering the service and how professionally it was done, I tipped her 20% above the total amount. Now you may feel that's too much, but I really value the shopping she did for us, and not having to do it myself.
