WEGO vs. Garden Grocer

I have used GG many times and they always delivered to my room or left with baggage claim.

This year I used Wego and she said she could not bring to our room due to Union rules, and she would be kicked off property. We had to carry a very large order from the front desk to our room. We asked if she could pull her car in front of our room, facing the parking lot and she said No. We made 4 trips to bring all our drinks and food to the room.

Why can GG bring to our room or leave at baggage claim and Wego cannot?

We were staying at POFQ.

We were happy with both, but did not like carrying cases of pop and beer to our room.
 
Both of them are supposed to deliver to baggage claim. Just call bell services to have the order delivered to your room.

Same here - we went in September and were at the Boardwalk Villas. Food was brought to our room.
 
I don't believe it's the companies themselves are allowed to deliver the food to your room. They would have to get a key from Disney and Disney's not about to put themselves in the position of handing out keys to 3rd parties. These delivery companies deliver the food to bell services who then deliver the food to your room. If you're staying in a DVC villa then it's the DVC folks who deliver the food to your room. Only Disney CMs will be entering your room.

I've also had experience with my food being unpacked for me at Pop. It's wonderful!! When we were at POFQ, we were actually in the room when bell services was bringing our stuff by.
 
We were there from December 2nd-12th. We stayed at POFQ.

I wonder if it is the Hotel. We stayed at POR and they told us the same thing.
But we did have the bell hop give us a ride to the room with our bags.
 
maybe it is just the hotel. We had always stayed at Values when we used GG.
 
One more thought. If you've got alcohol in your order then you may have to meet them so they can verify your ID. That would explain why they couldn't just deliver to bell services.
 
I think that's always been the rule but it hasn't generally been enforced. Maybe with the trouble Disney is having with their unions they've made changes to how well they're enforcing things?

According to their FAQ WeGo will leave an order with bell services if it is paid with a credit card, same as GG. But since you don't have a total until after the shop, I'm not sure how many people pay them via CC and any other payment method requires face-to-face contact.
 
I will forever use GG now. Last time we used Wego and she kept telling me over and over and over how the tip wasnt included. I was prepared to give her $20 for a $50 order. But once I felt like I was being begged and told and beaten with a stick about the darn tip, I dropped it to SIGNIFICANTLY less.

GG was great, I met the guy up, he was a sweetie, offered to carry items to our room and never asked about tip/hinted/begged/ or otherwise. He got a GOOD tip.
