I specifically remember voting in the Weekly Reader during the 1976 election. I was in kindergarten and voted for Carter over Ford because Carter had more hair .

My parents were not happy, but I'm sure my grandmother was proud .

Don't laugh. I heard a story on the radio today by Paul Harvey where Abe Lincoln was told by an 11yr old to grow a beard. It made his face fuller and although it was against the wishes of his advisers, he grew it. The rest as they say is history. Sometimes appearance makes a difference!

I was surprised to see DS's history book from last year when he came home with it to be covered in the beginning of the year. Some previous user had some nasty things to say about Clinton and fiddled with his picture!

I used to love Weekly Reader when I was in school. I recently asked DS about it. He says they don't get it.
