Does anyone know what is going on this weekend that there are no rooms onsite available? Is it going to be super crowded for some reason?

I don't know for sure what is going on, but I'm guessing a lot of people have that whole week of Thanksgiving off and they are coming the weekend before and staying the week.

We will be there that weekend too and had trouble getting the accomadations we wanted.

Now I'm bummed out hearing this. I planned this trip being told that the weekend before Thanksgiving is normally pretty slow. I'm glad that I'm coming in on the Wednesday before though. I'll be at the Carousel Inn from the 16 - 20.

That's exactly my story - we planned to visit the week before thanksgiving months ago based on rumored smaller crowds.

I was told by one hotel that there was a convention, but another said they hadn't heard of one. I tried anaheim visitors center a month ago and they didn't know, maybe they will by now. The number for the visitors center is 714-239-1340. They did say that conventions don't necessarily make DL busy, just the hotels.

Let's all cross our fingers!

Me three. Going to prepare ourselves for the worst and hope for the best type of thing. :)

I know that Gen-Con is going on the 17-20 at the Marriot and Convention Center. That may affect things a bit. I will be there the 17-19 and am hoping for good crowds.

What is Gen-Con? I really need to get up on lingo.

Also of note is that Disney has changed the hours to stay open longer for the fall. I guess it is just going to bea busy fall! You will still have fun though!

Well. . . not that I know much but it is a gaming convention. Here is the description from the web site.

"Gen Con is a name that has been one with the gaming world for over 38 years. It began as a meeting between some friends to play games in Lake Geneva, WI - thus the name Gen (Geneva) Con (Convention). Today that name lives on in the gaming industry as the places to go to get the goods. Gen Con has expanded to three shows worldwide. There is one in Europe, Indianapolis, and Anaheim.

Many people ask "Gaming? What kind of Gaming?". Gen Con is the mecca of hobby gaming enthusiasts. These games range from card games, to board games, role-playing games, live action role-plaing games, miniatures, computer games and more. At Gen Con you can challege a friend or foe to a duel of wits in your favorite games."

Last time I was there at the same time as well (coincidence) and I saw a lot of stormtroopers walking around. :goodvibes
