Hello All,

I am going to WDW with my family the week of Thanksgiving Sat 11/22 - Sat 11/29. My daughter and I are HUGE HP fans and want to go to Universal exclusively to see WWoHP. I've seen commercials and read online that they are expanding this exhibit over the summer so I know I will need the 2 park tickets in order to see both Hogsmeade & Diagon Alley attractions & i know that it is best to get there as soon as the park opens in order to avoid terribly long lines. I'm sure this week will be crowded but I was wondering if anyone could offer which day would be best to go?? I was thinking maybe Sunday 11/23 since most people travel over the weekend..does anyone have any advice that can help me solidify my plans? Also, can I make reservations to eat at 3Broomsticks w/out staying inside one of the Universal resorts? We have never been to Universal so any and all tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I am also looking into buying the 1 day 2 park tickets offered on this site that include transportation from WDW to Universal.. does anyone have any experience with this? I want to be at the gates way before the park opens but idk if that's possible with this transportation option. Thanks!

Locals tend to crowd the parks on Saturday and Sunday. We went during the week of Thanksgiving and the slow days were Monday and Tuesday. The closer it got to Thursday the busier it got.

We stayed on site and had an extra hour, but we got the the gates about 30 minutes early and waited in line. We did Ollivander's first and the Forbidden Journey. There was no wait at all. We flew through all of the shops and did as much as we could in the first hour.

About 2 hours after park opening you could barely walk anywhere it was so crowded. We had plenty of time to do everything we wanted though because we'd gotten there so early.

We ate breakfast at 3 Broomsticks early and there was plenty of empty seats. We stood in line for about 10 minutes. They don't take reservations because they are counter service.

We're going again in September, but we're not sure what to expect. The new section will bring lots of new people. I don't care... we're just glad to be going :)

Hmm maybe I should go Monday then instead of Sunday... I never thought planning this vacation would involve so much work! Lol. I have heard how crowded the hp attractions get but like you said I'm just happy to be going. We'll just have to make the best of it :o)
