Please order if you can.

Hi WISH Team! Happy training this week! We will be warming up some this week here on the North Coast and that will be nice to get on the path for my steps.

OOOOO Just a great South Florida morning. Was 72 degrees when I left this morning for my 8 miles. Speaking of 8 miles, where is everyone with there training updates and such????????????

Hello, is there anyone out there????????????

Anyway, my 8 miles were great!! I am getting together the nametags. I have the design and have the database all entered. I now have to order the clips for them. They can also be added to a lanyard if you want. I think I may place a donation cup for anyone who would like to contribute to the nametags supply cause.
I think I almost have all my time in January planned out. Isn't that funny?? From the time I arrive to the time I leave.

I am sending out the WISH racing team Hat/Visor order this Friday morning. If you would like one, please visit the thread and the link is in my sig. I won't do another order until around the end of the summer next year.

Have a great Sunday everyone.......oh, I almost forgot,

Go 'Canes, It's all about the "U"!!!!!

Tracy

Hey all,

Sitting here eating bacon--yes, bacon. SO good, so bad for you. But it's my reward for getting out and doing a 5k today. Race report on the other thread, but brief story......5k, trail race, 40 or so degrees (maybe), 75-100 people, 27:40, 1st in my age group (40-49), Rochester Optimist Club (sponsor) coffee mug as award.

Off to go grocery shopping and then who knows--maybe a brief nap, but definitely a dog walk.

Have a great Sunday!

Maura

Tracy - Glad you had a good 8 miler! I can't believe you've already got your trip all planned out!

Maura - 1st in your age group? That rocks! Congrats!

Me - Well, I've been the world's biggest slug the past few months. Seriously. I think partially because I've been staying away from the boards, which seems to zap my motivation. So, November is a new start! I did a 1.5 mile walk yesterday and managed to keep up a decent (for me) pace. :)

It was a chilly 3C (34 F) this morning and I definitely didn't want to go out for my 6 miler. Turns out there were quite a few people out running so it was fun! It didn't feel too cold once I started running because the sun was out.

Lots of cars out too and I get the feeling that not too many people were expecting to see someone out running. I waited my turn to cross the street at several 4-way stop intersections and had cars trying to go at the same time I was. Needless to say I got a lot of dirty looks ...

Maura - Mmmm... bacon! My favourite!

Tracy - Can't wait to see your name tag designs. I'm still undecided on a hat. How much is shipping to Canada? I have a feeling it's going to be about the same as the hat :rotfl:

Ang - I find the boards motivational too! ... which I'll especially need once the really cold weather hits. But a run in the cold weather is much better than running on the TM :goodvibes

Have a great day everyone!!

Maura: yummmm bacon. I like bacon and needs to be very crispy... NIce job on the 5k!!

Ang: Hey girl, Glad to hear you got out and did some miles. Miles are miles no matter what the pace. Keep in touch!! As for the planning, things just started adding up. Friday morning 5k, then I have breakfast with some friends, Friday early evening is the MEET, Sat morning is the Half, Sun AM I am volunteering, Sun evening is the WISH desert party at EPCOT and Mon morning breakfast at BW. WIll have to fill in other times with park fun!!

Vicky: I've PMd you. Hat/visor order is going in on Friday.

Week of Nov 8?? Wow, this month's going by fast ;)

I had a fabulous run yesterday, 6 miles in 1:12, a PR for me for the distance. Craig's Rule of Cool Weather has been in place all week. We had a couple nights down in the 40s. Yesterday was still only around 60 when I went out in the morning and stayed overcast and damp. It's only taken about 4 years, but I think I found my happy pace (Christa...you still out there?). Somewhere around btw a 10:30 and 11 pace, I was able to settle in...no labored breathing, no pain, nothing weird. R4/W1 seems to be working well. I'm happy to be settling in at this point in training...definitely feels more comfortable than years past.

I did have a LOT of stomach issues yesterday during the run, then all day afterward. I keep trying to stop my meds, but no luck so far.

Maura...congrats on first in your AG!! You rock!!

I bought a new book yesterday, Brain Training for Runners. The mental stuff is what I struggle with the most. I'm hoping the book will be helpful. I really think I hold myself back sometimes...and I know I think waaaay too much :thumbsup2

How's everyone's training going?

Hi Everyone!:wave2:

Went out for 3.1 today, 37 minutes and the best part was I actually enjoyed the run today a lot. It was cold but not freezing and just a nice brisk day to be out there.

Training is going well. I am using MfM Run/Walk Half Training. I think I screwed up what week I was supposed to be on and got ahead but that is okay. I did 6 miles last Friday but I think it was supposed to be one of the 5 mile weeks. Oh well. It was good, I did it, my longest distance yet.

I'm having the most trouble with the cross training days. So easy for me to blow them off.

We bought a treadmill last week as it is just too dark when DH gets home from work for him to run anymore. I have used it twice. Not sure how I feel about it just yet.

Have a great week folks!

Allyson

Good Morning WISHers and welcome to the TIME change (for those who had it).

Get out there and get those miles in!!!!!!:cool1:

Have a great Monday!

Tracy

Ok so I am popping in - no time to read the threads right now but I will read them when I get to work (shh don't tell anyone!!)

I did 10 miles on Saturday and started feeling dread because I have my very first half marathon Sunday. :scared1: I don't know if it was anything but my head but I spent the last 3 miles trying not to cough  But I must say I did run the first 3 1/2 miles without even stopping. I was with another girl from my marathon training group and she wanted to go slow - well that was a good speed for me - I actually kept speeding up so she tried to keep me on pace - and I think that might be the reason I keep ending getting so out of breath. I don't even realize it but I speed up and feel I can't run slow. Today will be on the TM later tonight since I LOVE to do the TM on Monday nights as I am watching Big Bang Theory, How I met you mother, and 2&1/2 Men since I tend not to pay attention when I am on the internet - if I am on the TM I will pay attention and I love those shows. Tomorrow I plan on getting out early - yeah!!

I am watching the Today show and they just had on Paula Radcliffe - winner of the NY Marathon 3rd time - I think her time was 2:23 - they showed an 82 year old lady who finished the marathon, it was her 21st NY marathon (52 total) 6:05:58 was her time - WOW is all I can say. That is just AWESOME. I would love to be still able to do a marathon when I am that age.

Every one have a WONDERFUL day!!!

Morning Everyone,

Today is a rest/recovery day for me. Did 15+ miles yesterday for the first time since training for last years Marathon and ran the whole time. Couldn't believe it. I also did 6 on Saturday. What's strange is I felt great after my back to back and really don't feel bad at all today.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Hey y'all! Glad to hear everyone is doing well!

I had a 6 miler yesterday. I got it in, but felt sluggish and was just ready for it to be over. My arches hurt me sooo bad when I was done. I could feel them and knew they were going to be hurting. I'm hoping when I get my new shoes, it will help. They were back ordered, but hopefully they will arrive this week. The only thing different though was new socks. They were a bit thinner. I wonder if this could have impacted my arches? Seems weird, but that was the only difference in last week's 5 miler and this week's 6 miler. Oh... and I did wear my new Camelback FlashFlo waist pack. I REALLY liked it. I didn't bounce up and down like the bottles do.

Hope everyone's training is going well! Keep it up!

Stacie

Happy Monday everyone!

Can I just say what a great place the WISH boards are? Seriously, the rest of the Dis (and the internet, and the whole country!) is just nuts today. But here, we're happy, we're calm, we're supportive, we have endorphins.... aaaaaaah.... ;)

However, a little tough love may be what I need! The past month I've been having tenderness & swelling in my achilles (actually in the tissue on either side of it) so I've taken a LOT of time off. Now it's feeling better again but my motivation is long gone. Anyone care to give me a pep talk and/or kick in the patootie? I have races coming up that I'm quickly becoming unprepared for!

We're having gorgeous weather here so I know I'd love it once I just get out there. But MAN it's hard to regain that!

Have a good week!

Kaycie: I think the last time I tried to kick someone butt, I got in trouble for being to "harsh" or something. But they don't call me Racey Tracey, Mount Trashmore Girl, Pinky Pistols and Wet Noodle Lasher for nothing.:lmao:

Here I go.....
Kaycie - I give you 10 lashings with a wet noodle to get back out there and get moving with your miles
hop.gif

PS: Please take it easy on yourself in regards to making sure your stretching and such, if you start feeling twinges, slow down and don't push it.

There is my 2 cents, hope it helps!

Tracy

Good morning and happy election day to my US friends!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about Obama's grandmother, hope he gets some time to grieve.

Got out for a 10K last night, did it in 90 mins so under pace so feels good.

Hope everyone has a awesome day!!!!

OK, my attention span's shot today. I read all, but not much is stayign in my brain.

Maura - Woo hoo! OCopngrats on first in your age group! That's awesome!!!

Ang - Good for you for starting again!! Hope you can keep with it! Hope you stick around more too!

Fat Elvis - Love teh "poster" in your sig. I guess I'm somewher ebetween interested adn committted. Can't say I don't let excuses get in my way.

Tracy - We're having FL weather this week. Ihear snow is coming again, though. :(

Kim - Yay for teh great run!

Stacie - Have you thought about new inserts with beter arch supports? Shoes come with really cheap onse. A new insert can make all the differnce. Hope it gets better soon. Don't go without changing shoes too long if it';s hurting, you don't want ot make it worse. Also, if you are changing your form because you hurt, you could hurt other things badly.

Chris - WTG on teh 6 adn 15-milers! That is awesome!!

Tricia - Great job on teh 10-miler! You will be great SUnday!

Allison - Yay fro a run that felt good! Those are so great adn way too far in between. ;)

bunnyfoo - SO glad a run you didn't want to do turned out to be fun. Hope that helps motivate you for next time. BTW, any run that you do when you didn't want to is a huge victory. Way to go!

OK, I really don't care fro weekday runs adn 60 min ones are the worst. I had a great one last night, though, and tehn headed to yoga. Boy was I tired, but my legs needed teh stretching and I really need teh core work too.

Vicky – Great job getting out for your 6-miler in the cold! Bummer about the cars not wanting to let you have your turn at the stop signs. Why do people do that?

Tracy – Sounds like a busy trip already! Are you even going to have time to go to the parks?

Mel – Congrats on the new PR! You’ll have to come back and tell us what you think of the book. It sounds interesting.

Allyson – Yay for enjoyable runs! What kind of TM did y’all get?

Tricia – Good luck on your first half!

Chris – Congrats on the great back to back runs.

Stacie – Sorry your run didn’t go well. I hope the new shoes will help!

Kaycie – Glad you’re feeling better. So, get out there and do some running! I can’t really talk much, though, since my motivation seems to have gone missing lately, too.

Kim – Great job on the run!

Carrie – Hey there! Glad your run last night went well. Those weeknight runs do seem to be rougher than the weekend ones.

Me - DH and I did roughly one mile today. Nice and slow, with a short break in the middle to cast our ballots. Better than nothing!
