Week of MLK holiday?

We have planned our vacation for the week of MLK weekend. (without knowing about the holiday) We plan on doing the parks starting the Tuesday after the holiday. Does anyone know how busy it will be that week? I know monday, the holiday will be packed, but what about the rest of the week? We are spoiled and used to going when the park is very uncrowded. We are used to hardly any waits. If anyone could offer some help it would be great.We are hoping not to have to change our vacation. Thanks!

That weekend of MLK is a crowded weekend. However, once the week end is over it goes back to the mid Jan crowds which when compared to summer is very nice.

and i just posted about that w/o realizing you posted...we're planning on the 12-18....i thought that the holiday might not be too bad....i was there over that holiday 8 years ago but that was along time ago....
what can the crowds be compared to.....
thanksgiving crowded.....easter crowded.....there is crowded & then there's CROWDED

we went this time last year, but Fri before through Sat after MLK weekend.....the long weekend was quite busy at MK, but we went Sat as it was our only chance to see Spectro...lots of people in the afternoon ave wait in line 20-30 min so not too crazy......

as soon as Tue came it was great...waits 10-15 min easy viewing for parades...no stress what so ever.....went to the MNSSHP on the day after MLK

great weather...low crowds...relax and have a great time!!!

I'm guessing that a different "season" starts on the Tuesday after MLK. So if you are going to book a vacation package, your rate for the whole week depends on the starting date of the vacation. So if you are doing a package, you may want to break it up hand do a 3-day from Sat-Mon nites and a 4-day Tue-Fri nites.

Just something you may want to look into and compare the costs.

Just a note as a federal employee. Not only is Monday a government holiday (MLK), but Thursday 2005 (20th) will also be a USG holiday. It's innaugation day. So because I have 2 FREE days off that same week (plus Friday is my regular off day). We will be there. I'm sure I'm not alone in my planning. We have ressies at WL (CM rate) for Saturday the 15th for 7 nights....!
