Hi! We are going to Disney World for a week next summer for our honeymoon and I was wondering what everyone would recommend for the best places to eat?

We probly want to do one meal from 8-14$ and one meal from 12-35 a day. So one affordable and one nice dinner (not 55$ place).

She definately wants to go to Be our Guest so i will be reserving that the first hour 180s away I can. I really loved the Beirgarten when my family and I went last year.

We did Ohana last year also but it seemed very rushed and wasteful with the food. The food was great just seemed like we were slammed with all the food at the same time. The first time we went we got to enjoy each course not bombarded. That dessert though is almost worth it alone though

I was thinking of an Animal Kingdom restaurant to try the different food. Maybe Tusker house or boma?(how much is boma?) or the other two places(cant think of their names)

She has never been to disney world before so i wanna hit the best places. I was also thinking 50s primetime would be fun, and scifi drive-in.

How is the coral reef? that might be really neet?

Another place is trails end looks like its a good value for the food?

Or Kona at the polynesian? (anyone able to get ohanas dessert here by asking?)

Just wondering what all your thoughts are.

THanks :banana::banana:

Hey! Congratulations on your upcoming celebrations, yay!

We just went to WDW and got engaged while we were there. Be sure to get your 'Happily Ever After' buttons that you can wear all around the parks! :)

We really enjoyed Be Our Guest. It had a somewhat romantic vibe to it, and the food was seriously so good.

We also loved the Yachtsman Steakhouse. I know you said no more than $35 pp, but some entrees there were in the 40's and it was really delicious.

For breakfast, we considered doing Boma since the food is so different there. We didn't end up going, but I think it would have been great. I have heard awesome reviews about Boma.

Maybe you'd like Sanaa too? That's also at AKL and I think it has more of an Indian type cuisine.

In Epcot, we loved Via Napoli. It wasn't too expensive - you guys could always split a pizza! The pizza there was delicious. I think for an individual it was about $17-21, but we easily could have split one and maybe split an app or dessert too. We had the dining plan so we each got our own with the dining plan.

We also tried Teppan Edo. For a honeymoon it might not be ideal since you're sitting with other guests. I found the hibachi to be good, but I like our hometown Hibachi place better. It wasn't anything special to me, but my fiance liked it.

For quick service, we really liked Pecos Bill at MK and Yak and Yeti at Animal Kingdom. For QS, we found that splitting entrees there was helpful, then we could grab a snack elsewhere to tide us over til dinner if we were hungry later. Yak and Yeti is like an Asian food place, the portions were generous and the food was so good. They were in that $8-14 range. So was Pecos Bill - they have a taco salad where you can fix it up at the fixins bar with whatever you like.

I also like Cosmic Rays at MK; I haven't been there in awhile though.
I have heard awesome things about Captain Cook's at the Polynesian! That one is newly renovated.

We also really enjoyed Earl of Sandwich at DTD. The sandwiches were SO GOOD!!

If you go to wdwinfo.com and click on 'Restaurants' at the top then click 'Menus', there is all of the prices and menu items listed for each restaurant! :)

Congratulations! You may have to be a little flexible with prices since though appetizers and some entrees may fit your price point, remember there are drinks to consider, and if you get both an appetizer and entrée for a meal, then the price may very likely exceed your wishes. We save by often ordering two appetizers then splitting an entrée; that also helps keep the caloric content manageable. ;) All that aside, here are a few recommendations.

Sanaa - Of all the places to eat at AKL, this one provides the most unique flavors while also giving you the best bang for the buck. It's casual, homey, and has delicious food. Plus, you often can see animals wandering around the grounds from your table. Love this place! Jiko is also most excellent, but it may be a bit too expensive for your budget.
Trail's End - It may be the best value for your money; certainly, we've found it to be the best value in buffets, especially at breakfast. I recommend taking a boat if possible.
Coral Reef - I've had good experiences there, but again like Jiko, it tends to be an above average cost restaurant. However, it is a fun place to eat, especially if you wait to get a seat by the giant fish tank.
BOG - Solid food and certainly a lovely place to try. If you can't get a dinner reservation (they're hard to snag), you can always do it for lunch with a FP. That's what we do.
Columbia Harbor House - This MK eatery has seats upstairs where you can look out over the park while eating, and it's usually not terribly crowded. They have good sandwiches for relatively decent prices.
Liberty Tree Tavern - While it doesn't boast the best food, it does have one of the best desserts in all of the World--the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. It's worth a visit alone. It might be fun to go there not only for the dessert, but they announce your name for all to hear when calling you up to the hostess stand--"Now seating the Smith family!"--which your new bride might enjoy. ;)
Teppan Edo - If you enjoy having food cooked tableside, then you'd like this restaurant in Epcot. It definitely fits into the more expensive category of your budget, but it's a show that enjoyable to watch while the food is quite good. While you're in Japan, you could always start a tradition by going to the gift shop and doing the Pick-a-Pearl experience. It's a good way to remember a honeymoon.
Deluxe Resort restaurants - If you want to have a magic meal by which to remember your trip, you can allow for a one-time budget buster dinner at one of the signature restaurants at a deluxe resort. Jiko (AKL) is superb, and the ambience and food there is topnotch. CA Grill (CR) used to be a front runner for romantic dining, but since its refurb, the reviews have been mixed, though it seems to have found its footing of late. It's hard to beat watching Wishes from there. But, it's one of the most expensive restaurants on property. Artist Point (WL) is a very romantic spot to dine, and it's also one of the easiest ADRs to get for a signature restaurant. You can ask to be seated by a window and watch the geyser, see parts of Bay Lake, and take in the awesome grandeur of the Lodge. After dinner, walking around the grounds is very romantic (there's even a nature trail), and you can sit on the beach to watch the EWP if you time it right. In fact, you can see parts of Wishes from that beach, too. Oh, and the food is great, as well.

Those are just a few suggestions. Have fun planning! :thumbsup2

Here's a thought, and what I would do if it were my honeymoon:

I would think more in terms of a dining BUDGET, than putting each meal in a box.

Why, you ask? That will allow you to save in some areas, so you can have some really memorable experiences in other areas. For a honeymoon, I think it would be much more memorable to eat cheap on 1 day, so that you can do California Grill or Jiko on another day. Have 1 day be snacks in the room, cheap counter service for lunch, and split a Via Napoli $30 pizza for dinner so the next day you could do something fancy. Look for those dining deals that give you the ability to spend money on the special experiences.

We used the dining plan but something that helped us was buying gift cards. You could set a budget then just buy a $50 gift card each month or every two weeks. Then your meals are paid for in advance and you can spend your gift cards however you want.

Hi there!! We'll also be honeymooning at WDW next month, here's what we have planned (ours is actually a wedding/honeymoon trip so our booked breakfasts & lunches include people such as our parents & wedding party)

Breakfast: Trail's End buffet, Captain's Grille (originally I had Kona cafe and Boma booked, but I switched them because of the Poly construction & the fact that we're staying at Beach Club and I didn't want to deal with getting to AKL on departure day)
Lunch: Sci-Fi (birthday meal for my MOH)
Dinner: Be Our Guest, Ohana, Yachtsman Steakhouse

We've also previously enjoyed Via Napoli, Teppan Edo, Raglan Road, and Boma breakfast before and I would recommend all of those (most especially Via Napoli). Sanaa and Jiko are the other restaurants at AKL you're thinking of, and I've heard great things about both the food and atmosphere of both places. I think The Plaza at MK is a great cheap sit-down place with decent food as well.

I highly highly recommend looking through the menus online to see what you like to eat and to find restaurants that fit within your budget. Happy Disneymoon!

Thanks so much great help and advice! We are thinking about doing the dining plan since its our honeymoon and it gives off that fun cruise dinner vibe(our what u want). Boma or tusker house seems really interesting. Yak and yeti was awesome last time i went with my fam. Pecos bill looks great. Not sure if ive ever been to cosmic rays at all. Looks interesting.

Working on planning a honeymoon trip too, and we are on a bit of a budget, but not super tight. Hoping for some sort of dining plan discount for January.
Anyways, Boma is top on our list of restaurants to do...I've eaten at Tusker House and loved the food, could have lived without the characters. However, if you want to see characters, especially the big cheese Mickey, Tusker House is a great option at Breakfast or Lunch (Dinner there are no characters, unless that has changed since November last year, so we may do Dinner at Tusker instead of Boma). Boma and Tusker have similar buffets. Boma price is around $36-45. Tusker is $30-36.

Be Our Guest is lovely. Couldn't get an ADR last November, but we went for quick service and it was great, especially since my best friend and I are huge Beauty and the Beast fans. The Grey Stuff cupcake was fabulous. However, my fiancé, who hasn't been to Disney before, isn't a Beauty and the Beast fan, so BOG is not on our list. I would recommend it though.

We will be doing 50's Prime Time at DHS because I really enjoyed it last year and I know my fiancé will enjoy bantering back and forth with wait staff. Also, it is close to the Star Wars ride, and I have a feeling we will be riding that few times. My fiancé is a big Star Wars fan.

We will also probably be doing the Beirgarten at Epcot...I gave my fiancé choices of where he would like to go in Epcot, and that won out. It is fun. Although I may still get Fish and Chips in Britain because those are mighty good...and relatively cheap for Disney. There is a lovely garden area across from the fish and chips place that is really nice to sit in and relax...it is kind of tucked back in the Britain pavilion but is a nice break from the crowds. Sometimes Mary Poppins shows up there :) Oh, and don't miss the ice cream parlor and bakery in France. I could eat like 20 of the macaroon ice cream sandwiches...they are that good. Plus, you can eat out in the French pavilion courtyard and it has a nice ambiance.

Depending on where you are staying, DTD has some cheaper, good options. We will probably hit up Earl of Sandwich during our stay.

I'd definitely do the dining plan.
My picks for the "fancier" dinners would be:

1. Chefs de France (there's a prixe fixe that allows you to have an appetizer, entree, and dessert with the meal plan)

2. The Wave (at the Contemporary) (great food, delicious dessert trios)

3. Tutto Italia (we think it's more delicious than Via Napoli)

4. Whispering Canyon (Wilderness Lodge) (delicious BBQ and lots of FUN)

5. Be Our Guest (but, you're already going there!)

PS - CONGRATULATIONS!!!

our granddaughter and her hubby just had their honeymoon and they ate at
Biergarten, The Luau, Shulas for their big splurge.. ESPN on the Boardwalk, Yak and yeti...
They did cs for their lunches and breakfast at their resort...

They had a great time
