Hello everyone!
For those new to us, we're a group of people who are planning to participate in the 2006 and/or 2007 Disney Half or Full marathons. We range from non-running beginners to triathletes. Come join us!
Here's the Marathon FAQ, a great place to answer your marathon questions:

Did 4.25 miles yesterday at a 16:10 pace!
I don't think I've ever been so hot or slimy in my life
Minnie...
for your 5 miles. You'll be great!
Tiff...wtg! Now you're official! Be careful with the 5Ks...they're addictive
I have done three 5ks now and still have that image problem. I worry that I'm the slowest or fattest or that I don't really belong there with the 'real' athletes. It's worse if I get to the race too early...gives me too much time to think. I'm slowly learning to replace the negative thoughts with positive ones of encouragement for setting PRs. I like the Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer for the mental aspects of training...think I need to pull it out and read it again.
Oh...and if you like to plan, we can put you in charge of planning the WISH team meets during race weekend.
Bree...love you and Christa's marathon album. I'm training so that I have time to stop and see the characters
but I think I'll be too worried about the sweeper to stop much
Sunny...I think your daughter is very wise, but I know what you mean. I find myself trying to squeeze in an extra mile or two on rest days now
Colleen...some of what you mentioned is what got me into this. I thought people that did marathons (or halves) were ultrafit, elite athletes that had been running all their lives...certainly not me. But I found the 2005 WISH team thread and learned that people like me could train and do this and LOVE it!
Zela...great pace!
Congrats on the PR!
Solo...wow...quite a business trip!
for a safe trip!
MelR...I hope you and the TM can come to some sort of compromise
Great photo of you and the family!
Cam...big apologies! HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!
And wtg on that distance!
Howard...wtg on the 6.25 miles! that's a great pace!
Helen...how's the book coming?
Carrie...how did the 6 miles go? I think I'm going to have to start getting up earlier on weekend runs too. I left at 8am and came back sunburned and gross! And I promise to share the chocolate mousse tray with you
Krista...how's the training coming? Got some football fix yesterday but really looking forward to tomorrow nights game
Liz and Lily...thinking about both of you this a.m.
for your race! Can't wait to see your race reports!
I'm registered for the 3:00 corral. I've heard it's better to put down a time then not. If you don't put a time in when you register, then you end up in the last corral. Of course, when I registered, I didn't know that's how they lined you up...I thought Disney just wanted to know when I hoped to finish
Love the new doggie smilies, but can't figure out which one's a big dog.
I think this guy's a pug, so I may use him for my little dog runs
ug: Or maybe a rating scale according to number of paw prints
aw:
I think it may be getting to be time to resurrect Lisa's planning thread and start making some ADRs! Only 5 months to go!
